Leaving the cave, going into the unknown

When we arrived home the first thing I did was dive into our nice warm comforting bed. Its crazy to think how much a plane ride can take out of you especially when you’re sitting down for 7 hours. It seemed like Alan had the same idea as me because a minute later both him and Dee had joined me on the bed. Dee however was wide-awake due to her nap and was playing with my hair while Alan wrapped me in his arms.

“Do you think we could just stay like this forever and not face the world?” He whispered.

“I only wish it were that easy. Soon you’ll have to leave and I’ll keep working and planning the wedding.” I responded.

“You guys will come out to the California shows though right?” He asked.

“Of coarse. As much as I’d love to stay I made Kate a promise that I would go over to her house to try on a dress she’s picked out for me. A bridesmaids work is never done it seems.” I reluctantly tore myself away from my little family and slipped my shoes on. I kissed them both before heading out to the car and driving over to Kate and Tom’s house. When I arrived I was greeted by Kate waiting on the porch for me, she ran over to the car and threw open the door. She pulled me out and into a tight hug that I reciprocated; it was like not seeing your family for such a long time only to finally be reunited. It was especially hard because we had lived together for all those years; the separation was getting to us a little. Kate often joked that our situation was like a teenager leaving for college except I was never coming back.

“How’s my favorite mama doing?” She joked.

“I’m pretty good, but shouldn’t your favorite mama be your own.” I quipped back at her laughing along the way.

“Shh just don’t tell her, no one has to know. Are you ready to see the dress, I’m sure you want to try it on and get home.” She raced into the other room before I could respond. Planning a wedding was really stressing her out and she often half finished conversations to start something regarding the wedding. She returned with a beautiful floor length purple dress with a sweetheart neckline that came in at the waist.

“It’s beautiful Kate, you made a great choice.” I took the dress from her and started to change into it, Kate had seen me naked too many times for me to care about my modesty.

“Well I wanted my maid of honor to be the best looking one there, besides me of coarse.” I shot me head up at the word honor.

“I’m still your maid of honor, I thought with how much I’ve been gone lately that you would have found someone else. I didn’t even think to plan a bachelorette party or do any of the other stuff maids of honor do. I didn’t get stupid dick shape stuff and I didn’t get baby photos of you from your mum to show to everyone at the bridal shower. Are you sure you want me?” I rambled.

“I can’t think of a more perfect person for the job. Even though we’ve both been very busy this past bit it doesn’t change the past. Remember it’s me and you til the end.” She said while hugging me, bringing tears to my eyes.

“If you say so, but I have to get planning on that party now.”

“Oh don’t worry about that, do you remember Bridget she is going to plan it. I told her I wanted you to be the maid of honor but you wouldn’t have time to plan the party and she had no problem doing it. And I also wanted to know if Dee could be the flower girl?” She put up her begging hands.

“Oh ya that would be so cute! I just can’t promise she’ll make it all the way to the end, she’s in the wandering phase but I can make sure Alan is there to grab her if need be. I’m warning you though, she may just steal the show.” We giggled and talked for the rest of the after noon. I took Dee’s dress home with me so she could try it on later.

When I arrived home at 10pm the house was dead quiet, which is just what I expected seeing as Alan just got back from a long tour. I walked into the living room not seeing my family so I just assumed they went to bed. I went into the bedroom to see Alan sleeping with Dee lying on his chest, passed out. They had Monsters Inc. playing in the background and Dee had her Boo doll with her. It was pretty cute; I snapped a picture quickly before picking her up off Alan and taking her into her crib, neither of them woke up they were so excused. When I returned to my room Alan was awake and sitting up waiting for me.

“Sorry did I wake you?” I asked while stripping to get ready for bed.

“Ya but don’t worry about it. How was Kate’s?” He asked.

“It was great, I’m going to be the Maid of Honor and Dee is going to be the flower girl, she has the cutest dress. How was the night in?” I climbed into bed with him and curled up to his side, he started to play with my hair and rub my back.

“We watched most of Monsters Inc. after dinner but I guess we just couldn’t make it through to the end. Before we go to bed I just wanted to say thank you for coming on tour with us. I know it’s hard because you basically have to leave your life here and do twice the work because of Melody but it means a lot to me that you guys are standing side stage and that when I get back to the bus I know you’ll be there.” I looked up at him.

“You never have to thank me for supporting you or for letting you see your daughter. And don’t cut yourself short you do half the work for Dee, you just can’t feed her like I can.” I bopped his nose and he squirmed a bit.

“Man if only I had boobs… oh well. So would it be really douchey of me to ask for some, well you know. It’s been a while and I know that you’re tired but I really miss you plus there aren’t a whole bunch of other guys within a foot of us right now.” I gave him a thinking look trying to mess around with him a bit.

“I guess, you know, if we have to.” He got a mischievous look in his eye before attacking me with tickles and kisses that led up to one of the best love making sessions we’ve ever had.

So i've been busy latest but fret not because i do have a plan for this story!!!! ya ya
After the 5th of December i'm hoping to get a regular sceduale going but i've got band practice all the time now cause we have 3 shows coming up!
