Leaving the cave, going into the unknown

It was almost the end of tour, it was hard to believe that 2 months had just flown by but I was glad to be going home. Dee was now 9 months old and becoming quite the ‘grown’ woman meaning she constantly insisted on doing everything herself. She was very close to walking and if you tried to pick something up she dropped she would smack your hand away and do it herself. It was extremely funny when she would do it to Austin because he would pretend to act hurt and she would make a kissy face at him.

“I blame you for her sass.” Austin said to me one day.

“Have you met her father he is the sass master, she got none of that from me.” I quipped back; we were sitting in the front lounge while Alan was getting Dee ready for their last day off of the tour. We had decided that we wanted to go to the Zoo and being in San Diego it was the perfect time to do so.

“Yup she got the sass from me and the good looks from her mommy.” Alan said while coming up the back of the bus, Dee in hand. She had on giraffe print leggings and an Of Mice and Men mini crew shirt.

“Sucking up will get you nowhere Ashby, you should know that by now.” I grabbed Dee from him and she cuddled into my side. Ever since I was kidnapped 2 months ago she’s been very grabby towards me always afraid that I may leave again and never come back. It was worse at night; we had only just gotten her to sleep by herself in the back lounge. She would cry until Alan left just her and I to share the bed leaving him with the back lounge couch. I was worried that she was becoming too attached to me but Alan understood and assured me that it was only because of what happened and it would go away eventually.

“Alright I think we’ve got everything so let’s go to the zoo!” Austin shouted, he asked to come along with us and we were more than happy to agree. The rest of the guys were visiting Tino’s family but I think Austin was missing Val to death. Little did he know that she was coming to surprise him, I just didn’t want to tell him. She was going to meet us at the zoo while we were leaving, then they would go out for dinner after. It was going to be hard keeping it from him all day because I was just as excised as he would be if he knew the truth.

When we walked into the zoo Dee was trying to wobbled around everywhere, she was extremely excited to see all this place had to offer.

“No no little one no running off.” Austin said while he grabbed her up and put her on his shoulders, giggling the whole time. We walked around the zoo for an hour looking at all different kinds of animals with Dee staying on Austin’s shoulders the whole time. Alan and I were looking at one part of the exhibit while Austin and Dee were at another when we heard someone talking to him.
“You have the cutest daughter.” A little old woman was saying to Austin.

“Oh she’s not mine, I wish, she belongs to my friends over there.” Dee was smiling as usually patting on Austin’s head.

“Well you both made a very beautiful child.” She smiled and walked off.

“Trying to steal our daughter eh?” I joked with Austin while taking Dee from his shoulders.

“Maybe that’s been my plan all along. Mwahahaha.” He continued ‘laughing’ while we walked through the exhibit. We were all pretty quiet until we heard Dee let out a little peep.

“Mamamamama.” She kept mumbling to herself but she kind of said mama and I was going to take it.

“Ahhh she said mama first haha Alan you owe me $25 bucks” Austin shouted.

“You guys made a bet about my daughter?” I acted pissed but it was funny and just like them.

“At least it’s not as bad as the bet that Tino, Austin, Aaron and Phil made.” Alan said while getting out his wallet and handing Austin $25.

“What was that?” I asked.

“Which band members name she’s gonna say first. It will dub the ‘favorite uncle’.” Alan put in quotes.

“We already know I win that role anyway no competition there.” Austin puffed out his chest, very proud that Dee had taken the most liking to him.

“Come on guys let’s get back home, I think the little one is all Zoo’d out for the day.” I said but really I had just gotten a text from Val saying that she was at the front gates and to come out. I led the boys to the front and saw Val standing there trying to look as innocent as possible.

“Hey Austin I think there’s a girl giving us a strange look by the front?” I pointed to Val and his head snapped up faster then I’ve ever seen it move. The second he recognized her he took off like a bullet from a gun and lifted her. It was a nice end to a perfect day.

Hey guys sorry this is so short and pathetic but i really wanted to post something. I've haven't updated because i'm still getting used to work and i'm always really tired after standing for 8hrs. I'll be updating again on Saturday, i'll make sure of it!
