Alan's POV

She was so sweet, so innocent, so quiet. Why did that sick psycho think he had the right to take such a beautiful life away?! Lily-Pearl had wrenched free and thrown herself in front of her sister, but had made it in deadly accuracy. I watched as the first bullet struck her dead center of the chest, then next by her hip, and the third lodged in her ribs.

I screamed her name as the whites of her eyes showed as she fell to the dark floor. The night was now suffocating both of us. My eyes had started to dry from the tears for Mom, but began anew as I caught my little girl's fragile body.

She's mine! He can't take her away from me!

Darling little LP, to innocent and kindhearted to be taken so easily, but she wasn't gone. The flutter of her heart trying to compensate for the rapid loss of blood was faint beneath my fingers. I let out sobs and choked on my own sadness.

"LP, wake up darling, wake up...."I cried over and over. The tremors of my own agony shook the world around me. I would do anything just to have her back. Anything. All the man could do was grin as the blood mingled with her dead mother's.

Could she still be saved?

I once held an old cat that I had. I raised her from birth, and she always stuck by my side. When she died, taking her last breath in my arms, I thought that it was pain. I'd watched my grandma died and I thought that was true agony.

But seeing her life being bled out, the rest of the times seemed as if it was barely a pin prick of sadness. This was true pain, agony, true torture. Austin and Rae were frozen, still not able to comprehend this.

"Alan..." She barely murmured, so quiet that the silence almost overpowered it. I leaned in close, listening to her soft breaths.

"You'll be okay, sweetheart. You're going to be fine." I told her. A single tear dripped off my cheek.

"It hurts, Alan." She mouthed to me. I let out a heart wrenching sob, feeling each little stitch in my heart that she sewed up being torn off.

"The pain will go away soon. We'll get you to a hospital." I told her. She squeezed my hand, her tiny fingers wrapped in my own. I kissed her forehead, beads of cold sweat dotting it.

I couldn't help but think. All she wanted was to grow up and tour with us, or be our manager. Lily-Pearl just wanted to be around me, and I wanted her so badly to be with us all the time.

Now she might never be able to go to Warped again.

Now she might never be able to play horses with me.

Now she might never be able to help me play pranks on Austin.

Now she might never laugh at Tino and Phil's jokes again.

Now she might never be able to help manage the band.

Now she might never be able to get the feeling of going up on stage.

Now she might be with her mom again.

Maybe she'll make it.

The world around me disappeared.But she was still breathing. Faintly, but life was still in her.

So I hung onto that maybe.
