Stryke's POV

When we had all finally managed to regroup, we found ourselves an hour out from the target's home location. The small girl, I think her name was Lily-Pearl, was sitting quietly in the backseat. From all my expectations, I thought she would've come kicking and screaming.

We were at Tracker's bar. The actual location of the bar had been moved a distance out, so we weren't as close as we hoped, but better than nothing. Ryder, Storm, and Eagle all sat around a table after closing time. Zero and Rift were taking turns watching the child in the back room. Hex was out and about.

I went over and sat down at the table next to Storm and Eagle. A far away look marred Ryder's eyes. Without a word, our team leader slid a pamphlet down across the polished wood to me.

Of Mice and Men, the popular local band, plays at the local Theater! Come watch them and get a taste of their amazing music! Playing time is at 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, so put it on your schedule.

"Change of plans?" I asked him. He nodded. I pulled the knife out from my pant leg and played with it absently. I needed to sharped the blades. The good news was that I had brought all my tools with me.

"We'll be making a guest appearance after the show. This should make for an even faster clean up." He told us. I nodded. Storm and Eagle leaned back in their chairs, taking the news easily. With all of Storm's temperament, he would have preferred taking a long time to hunt down our prey. The thrill of the hunt was always coursing through his veins.

"I saw Rae the other day at the studio they were recording at." Storm noted. Ryder smiled.

"Good. She'll be following them there as well. Any news on how they took the last letter, Eagle?" Ryder asked. A tiny prick of fear welled in me. Has Raelyn read the letters? The less she knew the better. I didn't want to hurt her anymore.

Wait, did I just think that? I scolded myself. No, I didn't love her. Okay, maybe just a little. Maybe I cared about her just a little bit.

I serious hate loving you. I spat at a mental image of the blonde haired girl I cared about.

"It feels like their being prepared for the worst, but they won't know what's coming." Eagle laughed lightly, as if it were the matter of stepping on a bug.

"The plan sounds good. Now just a matter of waiting out tomorrow and then going in on Saturday." I added, attempting to portray interest.

"And now that we have to the final component to...bring the family together...we'll have everyone back for a happy reunion." Ryder closed his eyes and stretched out his arms. I gulped down the guilt of taking her. This would kill Rae...but I really shouldn't care.

Our small meeting ended early and I went back to my own personal room, trying to force sleep into body. All I could see was Rae's face fall as she realized who I really was.

I never slept that night.
