Run from your problems, but you cannot run from yourself.
You Can Run, But You Can Never Escape
Listen to Empire (Let them Sing) and Crooked Young by BMTH while reading!
Mom's POV
No, I should've been awake to watch her. It was my fault that she was taken straight from my home. I would've traded a million dollars to that person just for her. More gladly, I would've wanted to switch places with my daughter.
Just give her back.
There was nothing that could stop me. This desert was all consuming on this Friday evening, but I didn't care that the plain landscape was calling me to abandon my search, tempting me to think that she was dead already.
They can run but they can't escape.
The tears were long gone, and now my brain was fueled in an smoldering rage, growing into a raging inferno. My fingers curled around the steering wheel, and I sped up. No one was on the road, and I was going well past eighty miles an hour.
What have you done with her?
But they were headed to California. Was that a coincidence or were they going for Rae as well? Was I heading for a trap, and would I make it out?
I can't loose them.
My little girl, she was strong. She would hold on. She could do it. LP would fight back when she needed to. Maybe she was escaping already.
I know who took them, I know who took them, I know who took them, I know who took them, I know who took them....
My brain teased me over and over. My raging wildfire of anger and fury was starting to burn brighter because I knew. I knew who took them. I would be in California by sunset, and I knew where he'd be. I knew who he is, and he WOULD PAY.
And he will pay.
