Cold, Empty Mattresses And Falling Stars

*Mike's POV*
-Last Day of Warped Tour-

"WE'RE GOING HOME!!" I shouted as I heaved my suitcase on to the bus, Vic laughed and nodded, "Yes we are" he smiled as he brought his suitcase on the bus too, followed by Tony and then Jaime, I have been doing all that I could to keep in contact with Cassidy, from Skyping, face-timing, texting and calling even that wasn't enough, I needed her touch, her taste and her smell in my hands, "Frank, we're ready when you are!" I shouted grabbing a beer from the cooler and sitting at the table, "Right you are!" He replied before starting up the bus and driving back to San Diego, we stopped for a quick coffee break and I took this as an opportunity to face-time Cassidy, she didn't answer the first time but when I went to call the second time my phone ran out of charge, "Vic, can I borrow your phone to call Cass?" I shouted through, "Yeah, tell her I said hi" he replied, I smiled and took his phone, unlocking it using mom's birthday and then face-timing Cassidy, "Hey Vic!" She shouted before looking at the screen, "Mike!" She said confused and quickly turning around to face the door, "Hi, my phone ran out of charge so I couldn't face-time you" I smiled, "That's why I couldn't get through" she laughed weakly, "What are you up to?" I asked as she was acting suspiciously, "Oh you know, just watching TV" she smiled, I knew she was lying but I didn't say anything, "So are you excited?" I asked getting giddy, "Excited? Excited for what?" She asked, I was hoping she was playing dumb but if she was then she is a very good actress, "I'm coming home... Today" I said my face turning from a smile to a confused frown, yesterday she was so hyped about seeing me now, she couldn't care less, "Oh right, yeah yeah, no, I remember" she smiled, I rolled my eyes in desperation, "No you don't you completely forgot" I sighed sitting up properly and taking a sip of my beer, "Aww baby, I'm sorry I've just been so busy-" she said but stopped, "What, what is it?" I asked, "Oh nothing I just remembered that I told Tamara that I would drop her off at her girlfriends later" she said, I could tell in her face she was lying again but I just left it, "Anyway, I should probably go get ready, what time do you get back?" She asked walking up the stairs, "About 5pm?" I guesstimated, she nodded before setting the phone down and taking her top off, "Well I guess I'll see you tonight then?" She said, I nodded, "Okay, bye baby" I smiled, "I love you" she said before throwing another top on, "I love you too" I smiled before hanging up, I sighed and sat back trying to take in the fact that she forgot.

After an extra 3 hours of driving we finally arrived home, "We'll all be over later" Vic said as he hugged me goodbye, Tony and Jaime already got off, "Sure" I smiled giving him a hug, "Umm Mike, can we stop off at the gas station before I take you home?" Frank asked, "Yeah no problem" I smiled grabbing myself another beer and taking a couple swigs of it, "Are you excited to get home to your lover?" He asked laughing a little, "Yeah, I guess, I mean I missed her so much but she forgot I was coming home today" I sighed sitting in the seat next to him, "She probably had a lot on her mind, I wouldn't think too much of it son" he said tapping me on the shoulder, "Thanks, here's $50 to put towards the gas" I smiled, he thanked me and jumped out, he took like 20 minutes but when he came back out he had a bag full off energy drinks and chips, "Want one?" He asked jumping in and handing me a monster, I smiled and nodded before taking it and opening it, "So home?" He asked, I nodded feeling myself getting a little excited to see Cassidy in person, we must have took quite a while because when we pulled up outside my house Vic, Tony and Jaime's car were there, "Thanks Frank, have a good summer" I smiled before grabbing my suitcase and jumping out, as I made my way up the drive I could hear Jaime shouting, I laughed and rolled my eyes as I entered, it was dark and only the kitchen light was on, "Guys?" I shouted before turning the light on, I nearly jumped out of my skin when everyone jumped up and yelled surprise, there was a massive banner with 'Welcome Home' on it and a table of food and drink, "You lied, you did know I was coming home" I smiled when Cassidy walked up to me, "Of course I did, you honestly didn't think I could forget, did you?" She laughed hugging me, "Well you're a very good actress" I said as we pulled away, I looked over at everyone socializing and saw Austin watching us, "Why is he here?" I asked getting a little angry, Cassidy turned and saw who I was on about, "Because like it or not him and his band are friends with us" she said grabbing my face, "Anyway you have bigger things to worry about, like, what these clothes are going to look like on our floor" she smirked, moving her hands behind my neck and clashing our lips together as our make out session started to get heated we were interrupted by, well, everyone shouting and hollering at us, "I'm sure you look just as sexy out of them as you do in them" I winked before grabbing her hand and leading her over to the drinks table.
