Cold, Empty Mattresses And Falling Stars

*Cassidy's POV*

As I was drinking and trying to get as drunk as I could I saw Mike was only on his third beer which is not like him at all and he was being very over protective of me, like he was watching who came near me and who spoke to me very carefully, as if he was taking a mental note, "Babe, loosen up a bit" I said handing him a shot, "There is actually something I need to do, come to the stairs with me?" He asked, I looked at him confused but nodded, he took the shot as quickly as he could and dragged me over to the stairs, "Okay guys, can I make an announcement please?" He shouted from the 12th stair up, everyone dimmed down until it was just merely whispers, "First of all I want to thank you all for coming and I would like to thank my amazing girlfriend for throwing this party, and who ever else was involved which I'm guessing was my band mates, thank you, round of applause for all of them!" He smiled as everyone started cheering and clapping, "Okay next I have something important I've been meaning to attend to lately, I was actually going to throw a party of my own and invite everyone over but since you're all here anyway, I might as well get it over and done with!" He said, everyone was staring at us confused, "Mike what's going on?" I whispered to him as I was staring at the crowd of people, suddenly there was an outburst of gasps, I turned to Mike to see him down on one knee, "Mike?" I asked with tears in my eyes, "Cassidy Sarah Harrold, you are the most incredible, beautiful, intelligent and hilarious girl I have ever had the chance to meet let alone call my girlfriend. You mean the world to me, I have seen you at your best and at your worst, just as you have seen me, I can't stress how much it hurts to be away from you, away from your touch, your taste and your smell, it's like without you beside me, my body just aches. Will you do me the honor of allowing me to not only call you my girlfriend, but fiancee?" He asked holding on to one of my hands and in his other was this beautifully polished ring, I suddenly became speechless and dry mouthed as everyone watched in anxiety, I nodded as the tears started to roll down my face, "Yes?" Mike asked laughing in disbelief, "Yes! Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" I cried, he quickly jumped up and hugged me before pushing the ring on my finger, suddenly everyone erupted in cheers and applause, Mike kissed me suddenly, I quickly pulled away to grin at him and out of the corner of my eye I could see Austin moving his way through the crowd and into the kitchen, "I love you" I smiled, "I love you too" Mike smiled back, "I'm just going to get some air, okay" I said as he let go of me, he smiled and nodded before giving me an extra kiss and letting me go.

As I made my way through the crowd everyone was congratulating me, of course I thanked them but I tried to move as quickly as I could, when I got to the kitchen there was no one there, I saw a shadow moving outside and immediately knew it was Austin, I opened the back door and closed it behind me, "Congrats Mrs Fuentes to be" he said raising a glass at me and smiling sarcastically, "What is your problem?" I asked hurt by the amount of sarcasm in his voice, "Oh it's not my problem deary, it's yours" he said with a venomous tone, "What do you mean?" I asked, he stood up off the swing and started walking towards me, "You made a mistake, you know you've made a mistake" he said breathing in my face, he reeked of alcohol, "You can't tell me that the night together didn't mean something, you don't love him" he continued, before I could get a word in edge ways he kept going, "You can't fool me with your little facade, I know you, and you're not in love with Mike" he said before spitting in front of my shoes and walking away, "No! You're wrong, that night was nothing to me, but clearly it had some meaning to you, I am in love with Mike and you're just going to have to get over it" I rolled my eyes, before I could walk away he grabbed me by the throat and threw me on the swing and straddled me, "Austin get off me!" I shouted trying to kick him off me, "No I'm going to show you how much you love me!" He shouted before he flipped me over and pulled my skirt down, "Austin, please stop!" I cried out, "Shut up!" He shouted pulling my head back with my hair, he started to pull my pants down and I felt my whole body go weak, I couldn't speak or move I just lay there frozen like a statue, I heard him undo his zip, "Please" I managed to cry out but he just sighed in annoyance, I saw the kitchen window was open and I heard Mike converse with Vic, "Have you seen Cass?" Mike asked, "No, have you tried the toilet or upstairs?" Vic asked, I heard Mike leave but Vic stayed in the kitchen, "Vic!" I shouted out loud enough for him to hear, "Cass?" He asked opening the back door, suddenly I felt a weight being lifted off the top of me and I looked to the ground to see Vic on top of Austin repeatedly punching him, "Vic stop!" Mike shouted as he came to the back door, I immediately pulled my clothes back on and stood up, Vic stood in front of Mike, "It's not what it looks like" I whispered still scared of Austin, "Well it looks like-" Mike started but Vic cut him off, "Austin tried to rape Cassidy so don't jump to any conclusions" Vic said defending me, I saw Mike's face turn from disappointment and betrayal to hatred and anger as he jumped on Austin and started repeatedly punching him, Vic pulled Mike off him when he saw he was unconscious, "Babe I'm so sorry" he said engulfing me in a hug as I stood there shaking.
