Toxic Valentine. (Fransykes)

Six Devils

Alex and Kellin were facing each other in the middle of the field, people around them blurred as they talked loudly and hurriedly, Vic was preparing for his set with Pierce The Veil and Jack was amidst a drinking game with Austin Carlile, despite his lack of knowledge for the man. There was a reason their eyes had met so suddenly and dear God it had nothing to do with romance, the brunette male had been eyeing Josh Franceschi with worry and caution, as if watching the count down on a ticking bomb. The cerulean eyed male had noticed immediately and although he was aware that many people had noticed neither the British boys had been quite themselves, only someone who knew what had happened between Oli and Josh would look with that much fear in their irises.

As if he were a deer caught in the headlights, the younger male flickered his eyes over to where he saw the lean, skinny Sheffield boy, staring at his Weybridge counterpart as if he had brought him the sun just too shatter it. The bastard. Kellin understood immediately, the moment the two of them had been linked by those pairs of eyes; so he nodded his head in the direction of a secluded area, allowing the two boys to have some privacy.

“So what do you know?”

“I know a lot of things,” The Essex born muttered, folding his arms over his chest almost defensively, although his dark caramel eyes found the fraying olive coloured grass and fixated on it in fear of eye contact. A swift dig of a bony fist reddened his arm and caused a hiss to be provoked from Alex. “Alright, yes I know about Josh and Oli and their wild night of passion,” He muttered all too easily, mostly just to have someone a little more serious to discuss it with (Not that Jack wasn’t a great conversationalist).

“Ok,” And that was it for a good five seconds “All Oli does is whine and…” Kellin bit his lip as he was aware the next piece of information could seriously aggravate Alex if it’s Josh’s side of the story he’s been hearing. “He’s getting married after the tour,” A pair of hollow brown eyes narrowed to slits, a silent ‘are you fucking kidding me?’ hanging between the wind and Alex’s darker thoughts. He could kill Oli, and right then he wanted too. “He said Hannah wanted a family,”

“He…he can’t!” Alex, at this point knowing all too well why you shouldn’t even think of getting engaged too someone you didn’t love, was rigid with fright. “He can’t he’ll never…Kellin you don’t understand!” a pair of fists were waving in the end, causing the elder to dodge and duck his acquaintance’s frenzy. “He won’t be able to stay away from Josh now, it’s only a matter of time before they speak and then it’s all going to go downhill, you don’t…you don’t know,”
“Don’t know what?” The ebony haired male pressed, tilting his head in confusion, stepping forward a little closer to the other male. There was a drawn-out silence, where the words that Alex really wanted to say rung through his head ‘you have no idea what it’s like to be in love with your best friend,’ But instead of giving the male he hardly knew more reasons to want to give up the rockstar life, he just shrugged.

“It doesn’t matter,” He walked away with his feet dragging a monotonous beat into the gravel. The dark burnt caramel of his eyes glared into the road, his fingernails digging into the palms of his hands, drawing blood a little as the realisation sunk into him. He’d been taking on the problems of his friends just to ignore his own mental catastrophe. It was only a matter of time before he had too face it.

Josh sat alone in the middle of the field, fan girls waved hello and he smiled for the pictures, a grin tugging at his cheeks every time whilst his hands wrote out messages on autopilot. He was happy to do this, he loved too make his fans happy after all it was why he made music in the first place. Oli wasn’t that salvation to his happiness, just his peace and ability to love anything other than music; because he loved the illustrated man, he really truly did, complications involved or not. The need to beg him for forgiveness for something he never even did wasn’t something he wanted to think about, or the fact that everytime their eyes met he had flashbacks to those fingers digging into his thighs or the deep moans in his ear, or the satin ties around his wrists or the ice gliding along his skin.

Sometimes he feared the power that the other had over him or the fact that Oli had no idea he had this power which made it all the more dangerous. Oliver could destroy him without realising it.
