My Words Cut Deep

-Skyla’s Point of View-

Nerves gathered in the pit of her stomach as she pulled an Elsa T-shirt over her daughters head. Giggles came from the little girl, when Emmy started to ask where Eliza had gone. Once it was pulled over her head, Skyla smiled. “There she is!” More giggles erupted from Eliza. “Silly Emm, I was here the whole time.” Skyla’s smile widened as she stood up and picked up her little girl. Placing her on the bed she grab a cardigan and tied it to Eliza’s waist. “It’s warm out but if you get chilly, you have something to keep you cozy, just be careful you might melt.” She lightly poked he little girl’s nose, before she lost the attention of the child.

Skyla turned around to face her friend, a slight frown taking over her face. Taking the empty space beside Emmy on the bed, she leaned on her friend. “I am nervous.” She felt Emmy place a hand on her arm. “I am sure everything will go okay…. But if you don’t trust him. You could always tell him a home visit is better.” Letting out a sigh the young women mauled over Emmy’s words. In the end she stayed with her decision in allowing her daughter to go out with Austin. She was trying to build this relationship for Eliza not for herself. She couldn't run, not after telling her little girl that he was her daddy.

As she sunk back into her thoughts, she didn’t realize how much time had passed until her phone started ringing. Getting off the bed she answered the phone with an exhausted tone. “Hello?”
“H-hey Skyla, I am here.”
“Okay, I’ll uh be right down.”
“Okay.”
It was tense and awkward between them. Parenting being all new to Austin, is what she expected but she couldn't figure out what made her so awkward.

Austin had hung up first and she had paused in her spot for a moment. Shaking her head, she turned to her daughter. “It’s time to go.” Giving off the warmest smile she could muster. Eliza stood up on the bed and Skyla picked her up, placing her on one hip. Slipping on her shoes, she picked up the car seat and headed towards the elevator. Once again in the elevator she debated whether to turn around and tell him no. She couldn’t will herself to do it, this was the whole point of the trip and she wasn’t going to run away.

Once down stairs she easily spotted the tall tattooed man and walked up to him, Eliza shouting out with a giggle. ”Awtin! Awtin!” The little one still called him by his name but with time there was a hope that she would call him dad all the time. Slowly Skyla handed her daughter over to Austin, who took her with slight nervousness but with the biggest genuine smile. For a moment she stood back and allowed them to say hello before she made a small noise to get his attention. “I’ll put the car seat in?” Biting her bottom lip. Austin looked at her with a small smile. “Yeah, I’m just out this way. “ He started to walk but paused. “Pamela, my girlfriend is with me, I thought it would be more appropriate if you met her first before we regrouped with the other guys.” Skyla could see the nerves as he mentioned his girlfriend.

“Okay.” A calm tone accompanied the small reply. Following Austin out to his car, she could see this Pamela women sitting in the front seat looking at her phone. She was gorgeous, model like. Hell she probably is a model. Her thoughts echoed within her, she gave a light smile as they caught the women in the front seat attention. Skyla watching as the women slowly got out of the car. “This is Skyla Patrova.” Austin smiled and nodded towards her. “And this here is Elizabeth.” Eliza got slightly shy and hugged closer to Austin. Pamela's eyes were covered by sun glasses but her smile seemed to be some what genuine. "Hello." She had a soft voice.

Skyla watched her daughter, and hoped she would be okay in the group trip. When Austin had called her last night and explained what he was doing, she had almost said never mind to him spending time with Eliza. Skyla gave a soft hello and then opened up the back door after getting a nod of approval from Austin. Ducking into the car door to buckle the seat into the back seat. While she was doing so, she could hear Pamela saying hello to Eliza and commenting on her t-shirt.

Ducking back out, she reached out to her daughter. “Now, you’re going to be a good girl right? And remember your please and thank yous?” Giving Elizabeth a stern smile. The little girl nodded her head. “Yes mummy.” Skyla kissed the girls forehead, causing both of them to giggle slightly. Placing her daughter in the car seat she kissed her once more after buckling her in. “Love you baby girl.” Eliza blew her kisses. “Love you mummy.”

Turning back to Austin with a small smile. “She has a sweater in case she gets cold, I put sunscreen on… um she is not allergic to anything. She can call me at any time, I may call to check up.” She paused for a moment because she had realized she hadn’t mentioned her daughter’s heart. “Also, which we should later discuss in greater detail… but Eliza has heart problems so if she has trouble breathing or seems faint and not tired… get her to a hospital.” She bit her lip. “So yeah… call me if you have any trouble. Have fun.” Looking at Austin’s face, she could see concern and more nerves but he still managed to smile. Some where in his eyes before he put his sun glasses back on, she swore she saw some guilt laced within them.

“Okay, thanks for telling me. I’ll take very good care of her… I promise.” Skyla felt awkward because she had no idea how to leave. So she looked at her daughter blew her a kiss and shut the door. Nodding to Pamela and Austin as she made her way back into the hotel. A small goodbye floated out of her mouth.

I hope this was good and interesting ^_^
Also I have entered a fork in the road in ideas... but it should get really interesting here. After two or three chapters I am doing a bit of a time jump. I don't want this story to only unravel over a span of what now two weeks? So yeah ^_^
