All the guys other than Alan started to smile. “Pamela is pregnant?!” Tino’s voice boomed through the kitchen. ‘That’s awesome man’ and ‘congratulations’ started coming from his friends. Austin quickly shook his head. “No…I have a four year old daughter.” The kitchen went quiet and confusion filled the air.

-Skyla’s Point of View-

“The cold never bothered me anyway.”

The Disney movie Frozen was playing on the TV as Eliza sat on her mother’s lap singing along. Skyla smiled at her daughter as she was quite the little singer. She had always made a point to put music in her daughters life, as music was important to Skyla. Kissing the top of her daughters head, she put her in between her legs and started playing with her long brown hair. Her smile fading as Elizabeth attention was being sucked into her movie. Her heart beat picking up again as thoughts and doubts started to consume her mind.

Her fiancé had left her, not necessarily saying whether the relationship was truly done. Was she single? Was the wedding off but the relationship not? Or was she blind and starting to truly realize he was gone for good. Then there’s Alan, before everything hit the fan Skyla liked his company. Did he hate her? Forgot about her? Did she really care? Or was she looking for affection?

Austin… did Austin really want to be a part of his daughter’s life? Or was he doing it because he thought he had to? Was she really ready to talk to him? All these emotions were making her feel nauseous. Slipping out from behind her daughter she ran into the bathroom. Closing the door swiftly before throwing up into the toilet. Reaching her hand up, as she was trying to breath, she felt for the shower handle and turned it on. Eliza didn’t need to hear this or worry.

Sitting with her head on the toilet bowl, she reached up and flushed the toilet. Not to long after the bathroom door flew open and then shut lightly. A hand was placed on her shoulder and the other hand was moving hair away from Skyla’s face. “You haven’t answered my calls or texts all day.” Emmy’s voice was soft and full of concern. Skyla bit her bottom lip and closed her eye not even bothering to speak.

“I was going through Instagram… and I saw a very familiar face.” She paused tying up Skyla’s hair. “Did he meet her?.... or were you with Alan?” Emmy leaned back on her feet in her kneeling position. Skyla lifted her head and looked at her friend broken and lost glinting from her eyes. Standing up slowly, she put her mouth under the tap of the sink and rinsed her mouth. Leaning on the counter, she looked at her friend kneeling on the ground through the mirror. “… He met Eliza… as his daughter.” A tear escaped from her eye and Emmy got up.

Skyla buried her face in her friend’s neck and cried. Emmy wrapping her arms around her friend trying to get her to calm down. “It’s going to be okay… we’ll figure everything out.” Skyla continued to cry, all the stress, worry and every other emotion she had been holding back came flooding out.

After almost ten minutes of standing in the bathroom, Skyla backed away from her friend trying to calm down. “I-I-I said t-that he c-could Pos-sibly take h-her for t-the d-day.” She barely managed to choke out an answer. Looking at Emmy, she could see her friend analyzing what she was saying. Letting all the information settle within her thoughts. Emmy opened her mouth then shut it. After a minute of silence Emmy took Skyla’s hands. “I will support you in any of your decisions, if you think you can trust him to take her for the day… then I will too.” She hugged her Skyla once more and smiled lightly. “On a good note, that picture was really cute.”

A small giggle came from Skyla, she looked in the mirror and decided to fix up her make-up. Emmy left so Skyla could clean up and fix herself up. After she did that she came out to Emmy sitting beside Eliza mouthing the words to the movie. “You guys have watched this too much.” Eliza looked at her mother and smiled.

-Austin’s Point of View-

Aaron’s voice broke through the silence. “What?”

Austin looked at his friends, his band mates had confusion written across their faces. With the exception of Alan he had already known, he had helped Austin keep Elizabeth a secret. His friends are his family and he had kept them in the dark. Guilt started to form in the pit of his stomach, not just from keeping his friends out of the loop but for Alan because of his feelings. It had been awhile since Alan had eyes for someone since his ex.

His voice was low. “I have a four year old daughter.”

Tino spoke up in a soft and curious voice. ”With who?... Is it your Ex… Is it G-“ Austin cut Tino off quickly. “No it’s not my Ex wife’s” A slight sigh of relief came from the group. The group sat in silence once again, digesting everything that they were bring told.

After a few minutes Phil spoke up quietly. “You don’t have to explain, but I think I speak for all of us when I say we’re all here for you.” Phil walked up to Austin putting a hand on his shoulder in a comforting way. A small smile of thanks came from Austin.

Austin picked up his plate of cheese and crackers and walked into the living room, gesturing for them to follow. They all made themselves comfy and waited for Austin to speak up, not rushing him or forcing him. Austin leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees after setting the plate of snacks down on the coffee table.

Aaron whom sat on the floor picked up a cracker and threw it in his mouth. Austin looked at all of his friends and then to the floor. The pit of his stomach started to fill with nerves as he tried to find the words. “A year before Pamela, when I would once in a while find myself in bed with a women after drinking, I got someone pregnant…obviously...”

He shifted and leaned back into the couch. “She didn’t come forward before because she felt that she would be called out as a liar. She thought she may have been seen as trying to get attention…. I don’t know exactly why she came out here now… but she did and we had a paternity test… she’s mine.”

The room sat in silence yet again, Austin could see the concern and curiosity rising to their faces. He was about to get up and leave to his studio and get away from it all. At the same moment he felt running would do nobody any good. His decision was cut short when Tino’s voice cut through the silence. “Tell us about the kid.” A light smile grew on his friends lips.

“Uh well she is four, her name is Elizabeth Maria Carlile-Patrova… Spelt like Elizabeth but pronounced Eli - za - beth... she likes cameras and music… she can recite the movie Frozen… and she is as cute as a button.” A small smile grew on Austin’s face as he spoke about his little girl. It still felt weird to consider a child his but it felt good at the same time. “And… and I can take her out tomorrow for the day if I want… we had planned a Disney Land trip…but-”

He was cut off by Phil. “If you’re comfortable... she can join us.”

“Yeah, we don’t mind making it childlike, we’re all big kids.” Tino chuckled.

Aaron nodded his head and spoke up with a mouth full of crackers. “Weah. we'd love to meet her.”

“The girls will love her too.” The boy’s heads turned to the direction of the voice. Pamela entered the room fully with a light smile on her face. Walking over she took a seat on the arm of the couch next to Austin. “Everyone would love to meet the little girl.”

Ugh this chapter was a pain I edit it here and the site decided to log me out so I had to re edit the thing. Anyway I hope this was a good chapter, I tried my hardest to convey the parents feelings. Not an easy job what so ever.

The next chapter is going to be a bit choppy but I think it will turn out good.
