My Words Cut Deep

Something Like a Classic Movie

He semi smiled and walked up to them and giving Eliza a hug which she gladly reached out for. “Maybe tomorrow Eliza bee.” She giggled and nodded. He walked them to the elevator and waved goodbye as the elevator door shut.

-Austin’s Point of View-

Once the elevator doors had shut he lost touch with reality and sunk into his thoughts.Austin couldn't remember turning away from the elevator door. Couldn't remember making it to his car. His legs, as if on autopilot, carried him out of the hotel and into the parking garage. He did remember sliding down the side of his car leaning his head back and taking a deep breath.

After a few minutes of silence he closed his eye’s. His emotions were all over the place, confusion and panic being the most prominent. Everything was happening in such a short time span. The amount of questions in his head multiplied after the moment he left the hotel.

At first the plan was just to drop off the letter and take off. Instead as he was dropping it off he decided to try and get a gimps of her. The last minute decision almost sending hi into a panic attack. He had only expected to Skyla. It caught him off guard when he saw the child was with Skyla as she walked across the lounge. Causing the second time of almost going into a panic attack. He had expected that she might hold off letting him see the child till they planned something. The whole interaction was strange, he had spent time with children and he loved them. Though this is was different, this child was his. He had a daughter.

He had a daughter replayed in his head over and over again. Placing his head in his hands, he tried to quiet the questions and information in his head.

Footsteps in the distance caused Austin to open his eyes and get off the ground. Wiping his jeans clean from the ground, he unlocked his car and slid in. After a couple seconds the car came to life and he took off into the city. For an hour he just drove around aimlessly, no destination in mind. Trying his hardest to calm the thoughts that swarmed his head.

After awhile he glanced over at his phone, he realized he had missed many texts and calls from Pamela, Alan and a couple other members of his band. After taking another deep breath he turned the car around and decided to go home.

Pulling into the driveway twenty minutes later, he shut off the engine and got out quietly. Locking up the car he slowly walked up the steps to his front door, only to be pushed back by someone running into him wrapping their arms around him. “You were almost gone for three hours, are you okay? You didn’t answer any of my text or calls. Austin wrapped his arms around Pamela and kissed the top of her head. “I’m sorry… I just needed time.”

Austin felt Pamela pull away and walk into the house, he trailed close behind her into the living room. He watched as Pamela curled herself up in the chair by the window. After standing for a couple minutes he slumped down into the couch. They both sat there in silence until Austin blurted out that he had met Eliza officially. “I met her… I know I was only going to drop off the letter… but I met her.” Pamela looked over at Austin with surprise. “I know I have met her before… but this time I met her as my daughter.” Pamela bit her lip. “Are you okay?” Her voice was calm, soft and full of concern

Austin sighed. “I don’t know… this is a lot to take in.” They both sat there in silence. Pamela eventually had gotten up and made her way over to Austin cuddling into his side. A slight smile appeared on Austin’s lips as he open up Instagram on his phone. “She’s not camera shy…” He spoke softly and showed the picture to Pamela. She smiled at the two of them together. “You look alike… a lot alike.” Austin could see a bunch of comments from fans asking whom the child was and that she was cute, he saw people say he’d make a great father one day. If only they knew the truth.

After sitting there for a while in silence just enjoying each other’s company, Pamela left the couch mentioning having to get ready. Austin was a little confused until she explain what was going on as she was getting ready to leave. Earlier in the week she had made plans with the other of mice women to go out for dinner. After hugs and goodbyes, the door was shut leaving Austin behind in the silence of the house.

After a few more minutes of sitting in the quiet living room, he turned on the TV and left to the kitchen. Austin was making a snack when the TV was drowned out by the door opening and chatter filling the house. Looking up Tino, Phil, Alan and Aaron walked in to the room. Tino had his arms raised. “There he is, still alive!” He chuckled causing the others to chuckle as well.

Aaron leaned on the counter in front of Austin. “Where have you been? We have a tour coming up and need to put together the set.” His hand reaching and stealing a cracker off of Austins plate.

Phil walked over to the fridge. “We want to get it over and done with.” He threw a smile over his shoulder.

Austin shoved a pieces of cheese and a cracker in his mouth. Looking at the guys, he had no idea how to tell them or when to tell them what he had been up too. They had no idea why he had called off practices and canceled hangouts. Austin’s eyes flickered to Alan whom had made himself at home on one of the chairs. He assumed Alan still hadn't talk to Skyla after he found out her real intentions of visiting California. The fact she had been previously engaged and had a child that was his best friends, hurt him a bit. Alan had started crushing hard on the girl, the very few times they had hung out.

Tino made himself comfy on a bar seat next to Alan. “So what is going on? Haven’t heard from you, ignoring texts?” Austin could see the concern in his friend’s eyes. Alan’s voice was softer and quiet as he spoke up. “All we have seen from you is one Instagram photo with a child.” Austin looked at Alan, his face looking strong but his eye’s seemed heart broken.

Pausing from stuffing his face with crackers, he looked at the counter then back to his friends several times. They all watched their friend with curiosity and concern. Austin placed a hand on the back of his neck and blurted out an answer. “I have a kid.”

All the guys other than Alan started to smile. “Pamela is pregnant?!” Tino’s voice boomed through the kitchen. ‘That’s awesome man’ and ‘congratulations’ started coming from his friends. Austin quickly shook his head. “No…I have a four year old daughter.” The kitchen went quiet and confusion filled the air.
