The First Punch

After the set the whole band branched off. Jaime and Lian went to the bus to do.. well everyone knows what they’re doing. Vic, Tony and I went back to the tent. And Mike… Well nobody really knows where Mike went. He couldn’t be at the bus, and he’s not at the tent.. I don’t really know. And really I don’t care, just as long as he’s not near me.
Before Jaime and Lian went to do the do in the bus they stopped at the tent to announce the engagement.
“Look at that rock Li! I can’t believe that I missed it! But good for you two!! I’m on cloud 9!” Kel jumped up and down with joy.
“Congrats guys! I’m so happy for you guys! High school sweethearts getting married! This is adorable!” Ray hugged Lian then Jaime.
“Well we are going to go!” Jaime held Lian’s hand and the moved through the crowd to go have fun on the bus.
Kel and Ray sat down in the seats they had originally sat in. Vic sat down next to Kel. Kel looked like he was uncomfortable when he sat down next to him but in reality he was just liking it too much. I sat down next to Vic and Tony sat on the opposite side of me.
“Hi, I’m Vic! You must be the famous Kel we always hear about! Im happy to meet you.” Vic held out his hand for Kel to shake. It took a long second before Kel brought up his hand and shook Vic’s hand.
“Hi..” Kel said shyly. He then pulled his hand away and pulled a comb out of his pocket. He then began to run its teeth through his hair.
It was about 2:20 now and we had tons of fans coming to our tent and grabbing pictures with Tony and Vic, getting stuff signed, and buying merch. Tony and Vic were also being talked to about the proposal and where Jaime was.
After about an hour of just constant fans they slowly started to stop coming. When Vic and Tony got settled into their chairs Vic started to talk to Ray, it was more like trying to hook up with her though. They were talking right through Kel. I felt so bad. The guy that he liked and thought so highly of was talking right through him to hook up with an old high school acquaintance.
"Uh... Vic." I tapped his shoulder. He turned to me. "Can you and Kel switch seats?" I asked
He got up and so did Kel. They quickly switched seats with no question and Vic continued to talk to Ray.
Tony and I started to talk to Kel.
"Kel, have you ever heard Motionless In White's music?" Tony asked. Kel shifted awkwardly in his seat, still feeling uncomfortable with what happened.
“Some, but I mostly listen to 50s stuff like Billie Holiday, Johnnie Ray, Dion and the Belmount.. I like the bands Lian shows me too" he offered them a shy smile before casting his eyes down, combing his hair.
“Cool. I really like them. At yesterdays venue a few of us band members went to their set. They’re all really nice guys. I got to talk with Ryan and Ricky. But Ive never really listened to any 50’s music...” Tony explained.
“That must’ve been a blast!” Kel said with a smile.
“It was great!” Tony smiled back.
Vic and Ray stood up from their seats.
“I’m going on lunch now Alex.” Ray stated. I nodded my head and both her and Vic walked out of the tent. After they got a distance away where we couldn’t see them Tony leaned into me.
“Why is everyone fucking?! First Lian and Jaime, which we all knew was going to happen. Now Vic and Ray! And for all we know Mike could’ve disappeared to go fuck someone else!” He rolled his eyes then threw his hands up in the air.
“What? Do you expect us to do anything? Now that Ray’s gone I have to take care of this tent, and I don’t want to leave Kel alone. I’m so happy we have a day off tomorrow. Even though we just got on tour, I’m tired.” I said putting my head on Tony’s.
“There’s this little 50’s diner right by where the car show was yesterday! I think I’m going to go. Will you guys go with me?” Kel asked with a hopeful smile. I looked at Tony then back at Kel.
“Kel, I think Tony and I are going to do something just the two of us. I’m sorry Kel.” I felt sorry but Tony and I need to spend some time in the city alone.
“No it’s okay Alex. Really. I’m used to being clanked. I might just split early and go now..” Kel tried to assure me that he was going to be okay.
“I’m sorry. I love you Kel!”
“I love you too.” Kel got up, waved, and made his way to the exit.
