Run from your problems, but you cannot run from yourself.

Three hours into the trip and the boys had already started describing California to me. They were excited to show me their home state. Tino and Phil had crashed in their bunks at the back of the bus, snoring softly. Alan was on the fast track to being asleep while listening to his music. Austin and I had curled up on the couch. I had clutched a book in my hands, my new read, City of Lost Souls, was addicting. I loved the entire The Mortal Instruments series.

"You seem engrossed in the book." Austin commented. I barely looked up to nod as my reply. I finally finished the last few chapters and set it down. It was a great read and an easy way to chill out.

"There series is amazing." I smiled to him. He mindlessly twirled a strand of bright blonde hair between his fingers. Her murmured his approval. I couldn't help but think about Ryker. I hadn't texted him since yesterday and he seemed a little worried last time I saw him.

"So are you excited to be going to California?" He asked me. I couldn't help but grin, despite what had happened today. A longing sigh escaped my lips.

"Yeah. I feel a little bad leaving my sis and mom back there, but they'll be fine." I hid the worry with a smile. Austin patted my arm.

"They're strong. They'll be fine without you." He told me. Footsteps alerted me to a presence.

"I wanna cuddle to!" Alan whined as he crawled on the couch. He flopped down between Austin and I, wrapping his thin limbs around Austin and turning to me.

"He's mine!" He hissed to me. A smile broke way through the pain, as his antics made me laugh.

"Sharing is caring, Alan!" I fought back. Austin poked his head over Alan, who was now clinging to him like a monkey.

"Sorry, but he is my ginger princess." He apologized. I shook my head.

"I thought you were Lily-Pearl's ginger princess. Have you been cheating on her?" I let out a fake, exasperated gasp.

"OOHHHH!" Tino and Phil's voice managed to come out past the curtains to their bunks. Alan turned back towards me.

"I am her ginger princess!" He complained. I shook my head and clucked my tongue. I could feel the bus roll to a halt as we stopped in a small town on the west side of the mountains for a pit stop. Alan and Austin were beginning to argue about who was who's princess, and who had first dibs on Alan.

Strong hands grasped me from behind, one covering my mouth. Austin didn't notice. I saw Tino and Phil silently drag me out of the bus. What were they doing?

As soon as the door closed, Phil and Tino released me. I stumbled a moment and then gained my composure.

"What was that for?" I cried out. Tino held a finger to his lips and looked at the undercarriage of one of the buses. I followed them as they snagged four water guns from underneath, then shoved the last two behind some bags.

"Aaron." Phil called out. Aaron stepped out from the driver's side and nimbly caught a water gun that was thrown to him. Oh, now I see!

This was going to be fun.

As I grasped a bright green soaker, I took in my surroundings. We were parked by some large field on the opposite side of a gas station. It was wide open with a few trees and bushes dotting it.

Something cold was pressed into my hand. Aaron looked down to me with a devilish grin. I cracked the top of the energy drink and felt the buzz inside me. Footsteps were coming down the bus's steps inside. The four of us dove for cover. I took my Monster with me.

"Hello? Rae?" Austin called out, looking around. Phil and Tino were hiding behind the front of the bus, while Aaron and I were behind a near by bush.

"Rae! Where are you?" Alan called out. They searched under the bus, then stood their looking.

"Where's Phil, Tino, and Aaron?" Alan asked. Austin thought for a moment then a spark lit in his eye.

"RUN!" He yelled. At that point, the four of us jumped up, spraying the two of them with water. The energy was being pumped through my system with every beat of my heart.

"Woo hoo!" I cried out in glee. Alan took one fearful look and sprinted away as fast as he could.

"She's on Monster!" Phil yelled out to them. We charged. Twenty minutes later, Austin and Alan had found their own water guns and were now attempting to spray us. They got in a few good shots, but by the time I had crashed, we were all dripping wet and leaning against the bus's side.

"You're scary when you're on Monster!" Tino laughed. I shrugged and let out a toothy grin.

"Fear me!" I laughed shakily as my legs felt weak and I slid down to sit against the bus. Now that we had stretched our legs and had gotten off the bus, we all climbed back on. The guys stripped off their shirts and changed into new ones. I followed suit, throwing another shirt one and switching out of the damp one.

"That was epic." Tino sighed as he fell onto the couch. I fell into the plush seat with him. Austin came and sat next to me, his arm warped around my shoulders.

"Now off to California, once more time!" He cheered.

Hey guys! I hope you liked the bit of fun that Raelyn had. I just needed something to fill in, not to serious, and I needed a little something to lighten the mood after....death.
