Ghost In The Mirror

There is only one word that could describe the feeling in the pit of my gut: Nervous. In a few hours Im expected to go over to Chris's house with all the guys and their girlfriends. Im temted to call Josh and take a rain check.

I mean, what if they don't like me? They've only known me for a week. They could just decide that Im weird or a freak.

Maybe Im overthinking everything. Yeah, that's what it is. Im overthinking. That's normal right? Yes. It has to be. People do stuff like that, right?

My phone started ringing, pulling me out of my troubled thoughts. It was Austin. I hadn't talked to him since Monday after school.

"Austin!" I cheered.

"Tarra! How are you?" Austin asks.

"Im good. I just got a lot on my mind." I shrugged. "How are you?"

"What's on your mind?" He questioned, completely ignoring what i had recently asked him.

"Im going to hang out with those people I told you about Monday. Im terrified of what they'll think of me."

"Don't be scared. Just be yourself. If they don't like you for you then they don't deserve to be your friend." He explains.

"You're right."

"Duh. Im always right. Im Austin." He gushed, making me laugh at him.

"Yeah, whatever." I giggled. "How have you been?" I asked again, hoping to get an answer.

"Im great! My friends Tino and Phil introduced me to someone." He says.

"Tell me everything!" I demand playfully.

"His name is Alan. He's really awesome. He plays guitar, he's a ginger, he's a cat person, I prefer dogs but I can deal, he has an awesome taste in music, he's really sassy, in a good way. He basically balances me out and he's just fantastic." He gushes.

"Aw! Austin has a crush!" I reply. I remembered back when Austin and I were on that bus and we were telling each other a little about ourselves. He had told be he was bisexual. He said, and I quote, "I prefer dick, but vagina is cool to." I still laugh at the memory.

"I do." He laughs. "I really like him."

"Im happy for you Aus. Go for it."

"I will. I actually gotta go. Alan just came over. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok. Bye." I hung up the phone feeling a bit better. Talking to Austin always made me feel a bit more optimistic. Even if our talk was small, it was still important to me.

I checked the time and saw it was one in the afternoon. It was time to start my walk to Chris's house. I sent a text to Chris asking him to send me his address. He did soon after and I was on my way.

His home was a lot closer than I had thought it would be. My bus passes right by his street. From the looks of it, it was a pretty posh neighborhood so I would've never thought he would live there.

I got there a lot sooner than I would've thought. I kmocked on his door and patiently waited. I knew this was the right house when I heard, "Ryan! Don't stick that up my butt!" It sounded like Josh but Im not to sure.

Opal opened the door with a smile. "Hey! Come in." She says.

Thanks." I smiled.

She lead me through the house into the living room where I saw Ryan and Josh running around, which confirmed my previous accusations, Chris and Angelo were talking, Devin and Ricky were playing video games, and all the girls were sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in their hands, throwing it a the boys. It was a pretty great sight.

"Tarra! Save me!" Josh yells and hides behind me. "Ryan's trying to stick that up my butt!"

I looked over and Ryan to see what Josh was talking about and saw he had a dildo in his hands with a devilish smirk on his face. Wait, why does he have a dildo?

"Ryan where did you get that?" I asked, almost afraid of the answer.

"Ariel!" He states, pointing a finger over at his girlfriend. She drops the bowl of popcorn she has and a blush spread across her cheeks.

"Ryan!" She yells, complete embarrassment could be pin pointed in the tone she used.

"It's true!" Ryan exclaims.

"Ariel, why do you have a dildo?" Ricky asks, trying his hardest to hold back a laugh.

"Ryan got it for me as a gag gift for my birthday! I've never used it! I swear!" Ariel claims, making everyone bust out into laughter, aside from Opal who had been laughing since she figured out Ryan was holding a dildo.

After everyone had calmed down we all decided to watch a movie. Chris said since it was my first time over I got to pick. Much to Mar and Cailyn's dismay, I chose 13 Ghosts. Apperently, they're terrified of scary movies.

All the girls were cuddled up with their boyfriends, even Ryan and Ariel. Josh and I, since we were the only single people out of our group of friends, sat on the smaller of the two couches. My feet were spread out across legs and his arms were rested on my calves.

As scared as I was before I got here, Im more than happy I actually came.
