Two Wrongs Don't Make It Right

I wandered through the venue as I started to think to myself. Why did Chloe think I didn’t want to be part of the company? I did have an amazing time on stage, but that didn’t mean I was thinking about dropping her and the company to do anything with it. I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned around to find a girl about my age.


“Sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you. I just wanted to say how great you did up there with Sleeping With Sirens. So you sing a lot?” She asks.

“Oh, no worries hun. And no I mostly do it for fun, like in the car or when I listen to music by myself. I used to sing a lot in high school while I was in theatre.” I tell her.

“Well you have a phenomenal voice. You should totally think about singing more.” She says to me. “I’m Makenna by the way.”

“Autumn. It’s nice to meet you. Would you wanna grab some food? I’m hungry and you seem cool.” I say feeling an arm wrap around my shoulders. I look up and see Austin. I smile at him.

“Who is this?” He asks.

“I’m Makenna and you are Austin Carlile.” She says grinning.

“The one and only.” He laughs.

“We were just gonna grab some food, do you want to join us?” I ask him.

“Sure babe.” He says pecking my lips.

“You guys are seriously so cute.” She gushes. We smile and then her before walking toward the food tent. Austin vouches for Makenna and we go in. We all go get food and sit down.

“So why did you decide to do the clothing line instead of pursuing singing?” Makenna questions me.

“Chloe and I started the clothing line so young and we never really expected it to go anywhere. But then we started to get some footing and it seemed too late to back out. I love creating clothes with Chloe so I never really thought about doing anything else. I couldn’t ask for more than this. I don’t know what I would do without Chloe or the line.” I explained.

Makenna nodded and took a bite. I looked at Austin.

“It is something to think about you know. Like you said you were both really young.” He said. “You could be giving up your real passion and not even know it.”

“No more talking about this.” I say getting frustrated. I knew I had a lot of thinking to do and he wasn’t really helping the situation any.

“Autumn..” He starts but I cut him off.

“Enough Austin.” I growl. He frowns and looks down at his food.

“Fine.” He states before looking at Makenna. “Who all did you come to see?”

“Sleeping With Sirens obviously, Of Mice & Men, All Time Low, Piece The Veil, Motionless In White, T. Mills, and a couple others.” She listed before looking up at us.

“A girl after my own heart.” I say beaming at her. I turn toward Austin. “Is there a party tonight?”

“I’m not sure. I know we have bus call at one, but that doesn’t stop everyone from getting drunk before we leave.” He tells me.

I may need to participate in some of those antics tonight. Chloe wasn’t much of a drinker so I don’t think she’d care about having to drive, but I knew I needed to talk to her about everything. However tonight was going to be about me forgetting and just having fun. I needed to let loose a little bit and get out of my own head.
