Two Wrongs Don't Make It Right

Austin’s POV

She was amazing, simply amazing. I smiled as her and Kellin finished the song and jumped into the crowd. She had the biggest smile plastered on her face. It made her light up more than she already did. The crowd pushed them back toward the stage. They climbed up and turned back to face the crowd.

“Give it up for Autun Nealy everyone!” Kellin shouted into the Microphone pointing toward her. She bowed and waved, as they cheered, before running offstage and straight into my open arms.

“Baby girl you were so great!” I said squeezing her tightly.

“You really think so?” She asked pulling away to look at me. I nodded and smiled widely at her. “I can see why you love it so much. That has to be one of the most memorable moments of my life.”

“Yeah it’s pretty addicting huh?” I questioned.

“Yes it is. I could see myself doing that more often.” She said grabbing my hand and walking toward their booth.

“Well maybe you should sing with me sometime.” I suggested.

“Maybe, if you’re lucky.” She teased. I pout and take a seat as she sits in my lap.

“How did it go?” Chloe asks turning around after helping a customer.

“She was awesome. I am trying to get her to sing with me.” I tell her.

“I wish I could have seen it.” She frowns. She couldn’t find anyone to cover the booth on such short notice.

“Me too, if there is a next time you have to be there. It’s such a rush to be up there. The energy is so great and I even did my first stage dive. The crowd caught me they loved it.” Autumn gushed. We both smiled at her as she rambled on about how thrilled she was.

“Have you ever thought about doing it as more than just for fun?” I asked her curiously. She shook her head.

“I have always loved to sing, but Chloe and I started the clothing line so young I’ve never really thought about doing anything else.” She tells me. “I mean Chloe was 16 and I was 19. It’s always been about Wilted Lily. I love our line, I am so happy and proud of what we have accomplished in the past 4 years.”

“Are you happy though?” Chloe asks seriously. “Do you feel fulfilled when you think about this being your future? Or do you feel like something is missing?”

“I’ve never really thought about it.” She says frowning before looking at Chloe who looked sad as well. “It doesn’t matter even if I do. We started this company there is no way I plan on just letting all of our hard work go. I would never do that to you Chloe. I could never put all of that on your shoulders.”

“Autumn I want you to be happy. Whether it is here as partner or pursuing other interests. You would still be involved with everything, but I don’t want you to wake up two, five, or even ten years down the road and regretting that you didn’t go after what you wanted because of the company.” Chloe tells her.

She just shook her head and walked off. Chloe looked at me sadly.

“Will you go talk to her?” She asks me.

“Of course. Chloe, has she ever seemed unhappy doing this?” I questioned her standing up. She shakes her head. “Then don’t overthink it. She loves this company. She may have absolutely loved being up there too, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to be part of this company with you anymore. She is just confused. Like she said you guys started this at a really young age. Now that everything is running smoothly, maybe it is time that you both start thinking about pursuing other interest outside of the company.” I tell her giving her a hug and patting her shoulder before walking after Autumn.
