Two Wrongs Don't Make It Right

After an hour is silence Austin finally broke it.

"Listen Autumn I'm sorry about that. I didn't think anything about it. I don't want you to feel like I did I out of charity. I did it cause I wanted to be nice. You guys were nice enough to let tag along with you that I wanted to repay that." He explained glancing over at me.

"I know Austin but you are driving six and a half hours so we didn't have to. Chloe already loves you cause she gets to sleep and talk to Vic on the phone. I don't want you to feel obligated to pay for my stuff. I am a successful business owner. I hate people paying for my thing cause it makes me feel needy and like I owe people." I tell him. "But thank you. It was very nice of you no matter how unnecessary I find it."

He smiles at me grabbing my hand and squeezing it. I blush and hide my face.

"I wish you wouldn't do that." He says.

"Do what?" I ask confused.

"Hide your blush. It's cute. You're stunning." He tells me which makes me blush even harder. "See there it is." He smiles at me.

"What's your favorite holiday?" I ask him.

"Definitely Christmas. Time for twenty questions?" He asks looking at me. I nodded. "What's your favorite band?"

"The used." I said simply.

"Ouch." He says putting his hand over his heart.

"Oh hush. I love you guys too. I have just listened to them for so long. What's your favorite tv show?" I ask him. Noticing he still has my hand I start playing with his fingers.

"Planet Earth. It amazes me how awesome out planet is. I'm a nerd. What's your favorite movie?"

"Les Miserables. Theatre nerd. Favorite thin to dress up as for Halloween?"

"Easy. Storm Trooper. I'm telling you I'm a nerd. Favorite food?"

"Anything Mexican."

"Oh you have to meet mama Fuentes. She makes the best tamales." He gushes. I google at him.

"Favorite animal?"

"Again easy. Squidgy."

"That's not a real animal." I state.

"You take that back right now!" He gasps.

"Or what?" I ask smirking at him.

"You will be sorry. And I won't tell you when it's coming." He says laughing evilly. I smile to myself.

"I'm glad you got left at the venue." I say. He looked at me and raises his eyebrows. "What I mean is I'm glad I got this opportunity to get to know you better."

"I am too. When I saw you at the party I knew there was something different about you. I felt a pull toward you." He tells me lacing our fingers together.

I smile at him for only knowing him for two days I was oddly comfortable with him. There was something very calming about his presence. It was definitely something I wasn't to be about more, but I couldn't help but feel a small pull in my mind that said something about this summer was going to head in the wrong direction. I couldn't get wrapped up in the fact that Austin seemed interested. I needed to remember that I was here to do a job.
