Feels Like Forever

Chapter 8

Alan's POV

It was a nice morning. The sky was a baby blue and covered with clouds. The nearly bare trees were swaying slowly side to side as the breeze rolled through their branches, knocking the last few leaves to the floor. The grass was covered in a thin, silver blanket of frost that glistened as the sun bounced off of it. I sat at the kitchen counter and continued to admire the outdoors as I took another sip of coffee. I had learnt to appreciate the little things in life. That's what my therapist had taught me to do but I never did. It wasn't until I got with Austin that I seemed to start doing it. Since I've been with him everything seems more clearer and more wonderful, much like everything has a purpose.

My phone started buzzing on the counter beside me and I pressed answer after noticing Aaron's name on the screen.
"Alan!" He cried, sounding breathless.
"Are you alright?" I asked, concerned as he sniffled down the phone.
"Can you come over? I really need someone with me right now." He sobbed.
"Of course I will Aaron. Please don't cry." I cooed. "I'll come round tonight, ok?"
There was a pause while he tried to stop himself crying and then he muttered a quiet OK before hanging up.
I was worried about Aaron. He never cried or broke down like that. He is the most emotionally strong person I have ever known, as much as people would think of him as the opposite. I decided to clear my mind and worry about Aaron tonight when I got to his as I still had a day with Austin to get through.

I was lying in the long grass staring up at the sky, Austin sat close next to me. It was cold and the grass was slightly damp but I didn't mind.
"There you go." Austin said, while placing a daisy chain on my head. "Now you're a princess."
He laughed and I stared blankly at him, trying to act like I wasn't amused.
"Don't look at me like that." He said, staring back.
"Or what?" I challenged, the corner of my mouth turning up into a sly smile.
Austin moved forwards and swung his legs over me so that he was straddling me and stared down at me, still smiling.
"I'll show you what." He whispered before he placed his hands on my sides and began to tickle.
"Austin. No! Stop!" I whined, squirming underneath him but laughing at the same time.
He continued to tickle my sides and I came short of breath as I continued to laugh.
"P-P-Please. S-Stop." I managed, in between laughing.
"You don't like being tickled, eh?" Austin asked, laughing with me.
I put my hands on his arms and tried to push him off but he was too strong.
Suddenly Austin stopped moving his hands and I looked up to meet his gaze. His eyes looked lighter in the sun and the dozens of little freckles dotted around his nose became more prominent.
I put my arms around his neck and pulled him down until his lips were on mine. His lips were cold and it sent shivers down my spine as he pushed eagerly against my mouth. His tongue soon traced across my bottom lip and I opened my mouth. Our tongues trailed against one another and our mouths moved perfectly in sync. Austin placed his hands on either side of my face and pushed harder against my mouth, as if we could be anymore closer. I pulled away after a few minutes to catch my breath and Austin smiled down at me, showing his perfect set of teeth. He pulled his hood up over his head and climbed off of me, only to sit back down beside me.
"You still have your flower crown on." He whispered before kissing my cheek.
I rolled my eyes and stared back up at the sky which was now orange and pink.
"Want to get going?" Austin asked, obviously noticing the sudden drop in temperature.
I nodded and followed him back to the car.

***

"You can come in, you know?" I said to Austin once we had pulled apart from another kiss.
"Are your parents in?" He asked.
"Now who's being paranoid." I laughed. "They're both at work."

Austin smiled and brought his lips down to mine while I attempted to open the front door, with our lips still connected. I kicked the door open with my foot and ran my hand through his hair, him lifting me so that my legs were wrapped around his waist. He carried me into the house, both of our eyes closed and still lost, deep in the kiss.

There was an odd wariness about the house. It was silent but that was expected. I pulled away from Austin's mouth but stayed in his arms with my legs around his waist. He stared at me for a moment looking confused until his eyes grew larger and he let go off me. I almost fell out of his arms and onto the floor but I soon realized what shocked him so much.
I turned around to find my parents sat at the kitchen table, frozen and expressionless, staring right at us.

Notes

Here it is, chapter 8! I honestly can't believe this hit 2000 views the other day. That may not seem like a lot for some people but I am in total shock. I never thought something I wrote would get this much positive feedback. Thank you so much everyone.

Also, I may or may not have started typing up a possible sequel to this. We'll have to see. ;)
