Feels Like Forever

Chapter 12

Alan's POV

My alarm clock rang, causing a deafening sound to explode around my room and I groaned, lifting my arm to turn it off but feeling another body next to me. My eyes shot open and I sat up.
"Are you going to turn that off or not?" He complained, rubbing his eyes.
His hair was messy and his perfect lips opened wide as he yawned. He removed his hands from his eyes and looked up at me. I lent over him and pressed the off button on my alarm, keeping eye contact with him the entire time. As soon as the ringing had stopped, Austin brought his lips up to mine and I returned the kiss quickly.
"Good morning beautiful." He smiled at me once I had pulled away.
I smiled back and blushed slightly. I could get used to waking up like this everyday. A knock at my bedroom door snapped me out of my daze. Shit.

"Austin. Hide." I whispered.
"Why?" He asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Because you shouldn't be here. My mum will go crazy."
"Alan." My mum says, opening the door and walking in just as I was pulling the duvet over Austin. My pathetic attempt at hiding him.
My mum laughs when she sees me and rolls her eyes. "Good morning Austin." She says.
"Good morning Mrs Ashby." He shouts from under the covers and laughs.
I pull the duvet off of him and stare at my mum suspiciously.
"I knew he was still here." She explained. "When I didn't hear him leave I phoned his parents and told them he'd be spending the night here. His mum was fine with it."
I felt relieved and also happy that my mum had let Austin stay over. I guess she understood that I needed him right now.
"Now get ready you two. You don't want to be late for school."

I groaned as she walked out of the room and I buried my face in my pillow. I felt the bed beside me shift and then felt Austin's cool breath on the back of my neck. It sent shivers down my spine. He pressed a trail of kisses across my neck until he began grazing his teeth against my skin. I closed my eyes and moaned as he found my sweet spot but soon shook myself out of it and stood up, walking towards my wardrobe and choosing my clothes for the day. Austin remained sat on my bed, his mouth open slightly in shock.
"What?" I asked. "Not used to rejection?"
He stands up and makes his way over to me slowly, a smirk plastered across his face.
"Are you admitting that you just rejected me, Alan?" He whispers. He was close to me now and I could feel his breath against my lips as he presses his body against mine.
"Maybe." I smirk back, my voice breathless and barely audible as my heart rate increases.
Austin brushes his lips against mine, barely making contact but it sent fireworks coursing through my stomach all the same. I couldn't bare it any longer and quickly pushed my lips against his. He immediately pulled away and I stared at him confused before he laughed.
"Now we're even. Go get ready for school." He whispered before winking at me and making his way out of my room.

"When do you think Aaron will forgive me?" I ask, sighing.
"Just give him time." Phil replies, smiling sympathetically at me. "He probably just needs his space right now."
"How much time does he need though?" I whine. "We've never gone this long without talking."
"Go and talk to him then." Phil shrugs.
I bite my lip and look over to the other end of the school dining hall to where Aaron is sat with a girl. They're laughing and she has her hand on his upper arm. If we were still friends he'd probably be telling me about this girl and how he likes her but is too nervous to ask her out on a date or something.
"Do you want me to talk to him?" Austin suggests.
"I-I don't know. Maybe that's not a good idea." I mumble.
"Why not?" Austin asks, looking slightly confused.
"W-well..' I stutter. "Y-you're not really Aaron's favourite person right now either."

Austin chuckles and then starts poking back at his food again. I notice the girl Aaron was with a moment ago leave and I quickly excused myself from the table and walked over towards where he was now sat, alone.
"Aaron." I said quietly as I approached him.
He looked up at me for a moment before immediately standing and walking away.
"Aaron please!" I shouted after him, having to jog to keep up with his long strides.
"What?" He asked, surprisingly calm.
"Please talk to me. I miss you so much."
He stopped walking and turned to face, letting out a loud sigh.
"It's been weeks. Please." I practically beg.
Aaron runs a hand through his hair and then looks up to meet my pleading gaze. The corners of his mouth turn up into a slight smile.
"I guess I have missed you too, a little bit." He smiles while putting his hands into his hoodie pockets.
I throw my arms around him and pull him into a tight hug.
"You're not completely forgiven though Alan. I'm still annoyed at what you did." He whispers to me while I keep myself attached to him in our tight hug.
"I know." I mutter. "But I promise, I'll make it up to you."
I pull away from him to find him smiling. It was a genuine smile. The smile I had missed seeing for a long time. I was glad to have him back.
