Bones Exposed [Sequel to: Those In Glass Houses]

Anne stood speechless about what Jack had said. Jack could only stare at her as she tried to understand everything when she let out a breath that she didn’t even know she was holding. She began weighing her pros and cons, trying to see how her life with Jack would be vs. her life with Austin. Eventually, before she could even answer, she felt someone behind her and Jack stiffened glaring at Austin.

“What’s going on here?” He asked. Anne glanced at him and at Jack, the two glaring at each other and making Anne uncomfortable.

“I asked Anne to marry me again.” Jack answered simply, Anne closing her eyes.

“Really? Because I just asked her to go back with me.” Austin snapped.

“Why? So you can hurt her and her daughter?” Jack asked.

“So I can show them what a real man is.” Austin snapped.

“A real man is someone who treats their women like shit?” Jack half yelled. Austin clenched his hands into fists, not knowing what to say back to Jack. He lunged himself at Jack, pushing Anne away. She stumbled back, landing on her back as Austin began punching.

“At least I don’t steal my best friend’s woman!” Austin yelled.

“Isn’t that what you’re doing now?” Jack yelled back.

“Stop! Stop it please!” Anne yelled. She got back on her feet and pushed Austin causing him to fall on his side, but Jack quickly got on top and continued punching. “Jack stop!” Anne yelled and got on him, covering his eyes as she pulled his head back. Jack was up on his knees, trying to get Anne off while Austin moved away, wiping the blood off his busted lip. Anne fell back and Jack turned to her. Is eyes was getting swollen and she looked at Austin.

She stood up, pulling both men into the house and sat them on the couch as she grabbed a baby wipe and cleaned up their cuts. “Why is he first?” Austin snapped.

“Because I was closer.” Jack snapped back.

“You know what?” Anne yelled, slamming her hand on the coffee table. “Both of you, out! I’m sick of this! I don’t want this anymore!” She yelled.

“Angel,”

“Baby,” Both Jack and Austin spoke at the same time and she shook her head.

“Don’t ‘baby’ or ‘angel’ me! I done! Both of you get out!” Anne yelled. Jack sat still, his eyes moving to Austin and he did the same.

“We’re not leaving.” Jack whispered.

“You can’t be alone like this Anne.” Austin spoke. Anne leaned back on the table and sighed heavily, holding her head in her hands.

“I can’t deal with you both.” She croaked out, before sobbing. “You can’t make me chose like this, Blessing grew up with Jack, she knows him as a father, Austin is her right father and I love you both.” Jack sighed and sat next to her, holding her hand in his and softly stroked it.

“Pick whoever you think is right.” He whispered. Austin sat on her other side holding her other hand until Anne finally stopped crying. She wiped her eyes away and sighed heavily.

“I’ll be back.” She whispered, getting up and sniffing. Before Jack or Austin could say anything, Anne was out the door and walking to her car. She turned it on, driving to see her parents.

Notes

I updated my iTunes to 11.2.2 and it won't recognize my device, so I recovered it back to before I downloaded it and not only did it delete it, but it deleted ALL my files from then to now. I was so mad!!
