Bones Exposed [Sequel to: Those In Glass Houses]

Hero With No Name

I couldn’t believe I was here, but I need answers, and what better way than to have them shoved into my head. I had gone to the cemetery but I couldn’t think of anything, then I remembered the one person I could talk to. I ran to my car and sped over, knowing the directions very well.

I got out of my parked car, taking the keys with me and held them in my hand. I walked into the building, the female security guard looking at me and asked for the name. I gave it to her and she allowed me to the visiting room. I sat on the chair, my hands resting on the white table. There were families around me and I sighed, my leg moving up and down rapidly.

I looked up when the person sat in front of me. His light brown hair was shaggy and his hazel eyes looked confused before finally noticing who I was.

“I thought I wasn’t allowed to see you anymore.” He spoke. “How are you doing?” He asked. I stayed silent for a bit before looking at his orange jumpsuit.

“Orange was never really your color, Josh.” I whispered.

“Yeah…” He looked down at it and back at me. “Why are you here?” He asked. I rested my elbows on the table and sighed, covering my face.

“I don’t know anymore.” I spoke. Josh was quiet before I felt his hands on my wrist. I didn’t flinch, they were the same as when he first held them when we met, soft and gentle. He pulled my hands away and set them on the table, his hazel eyes looking at me.

“Start from the beginning.”

I spilled my guts, making a mess in the process but Josh listened, nodding and thinking about everything I had said. I told him everything after his arrest. I told him about my pregnancy, Gielle, Austin, Jack, and Blessing. I explained Warped Tour and the wrongs I did.

“Can I see a photo?” He asked. I nodded and pulled my phone out and should him a photo of Blessing. “She’s beautiful, she has your eyes, but has Austin’s freckles.” He chuckled. I nodded and put my phone back in my pocket. “Give me your phone.” He said, sticking his hand out. I stared at Josh before he laughed. “Trust me.” He assured me. I sat next to him, giving him the phone and he strolled through the contacts, clicking Austin’s name and Jack’s. He began typing something in a group message but I couldn’t see. He clicked the camera button, flipping the screen to us and snapped a picture of me staring at him and him grinning. He sent the message, locking my phone and giving it to me.

“Drive out to where we went on our first date, the park where the old carnival was; it’s roughly thirty minutes from here. Do not, under any circumstances, open or look at any of the messages until you get there. Once you get there, open the group message and right away read what I wrote, then go on from there. Promise me.” Josh looked at me. I nodded and pocketed my phone. He smiled at me and sighed.

“Forgive me for everything I did to you.” He whispered. I nodded, giving his cheek a small kiss and a hug before I left. I looked back and he was being but into handcuffs again. He looked at me and smiled; a smile I could return.

I walked to my car and drove, my phone buzzing in the cup holder but I promised Josh I wouldn’t see it until I got to the park. I reached it, remembering back to all those years and I walked along the grass to a skateboard area. I sat down on one of the empty ramps, unlocking my phone. I scrolled to the top, loading to the earlier messages before I reached the very first one.

Josh here. So I got a surprise visit from an old friend and I decided to reminisce about everything that happened after I got locked up. Turns out she’s going through some tough things thanks to you guys. I thought I was bad. Anyway, if you really want her, prove that you want her back. Do something that we all know that only the man that loves her would do to figure out where she is currently. Find me and ask me where she is. Love, stay where you are, call me once you finish reading all the texts.

The picture of us followed straight after and I read the texts.

Austin
: Marie would never be with you! Where the hell is she you bastard!?
Jack: Is that her ex!? What the fuck?
Austin: I swear to god Josh Andrews she better be safe or I will kill you!
Jack: We have to find her!
Austin: Every man for himself.

I went back to the home screen and called the jail house, asking for Josh.

“I see you finished reading them?” He asked.

“Yeah, now what?” I asked. Josh laughed and clicked his tongue.

“Now, you wait.”

I hung up, thinking about everything that was going to happen. I didn’t understand anything that Josh was doing. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around, finally understanding why Josh did what he did.

Notes

This is almost over! I really thought hard about bringing Josh back, so why not? :) Can anyone guess who the mystery person is?

@Amandaa

WHAT DID YOU DO!?!? You should have told me that sooner!! Oh my gosh you evil genius! XD

It would have been an insane plot twist if someone other than jack or Austin found her, like say they told everyone else and someone else was to find her instead of Austin OMG what am I doing to myself
