Bones Exposed [Sequel to: Those In Glass Houses]

A few weeks later, Anne dropped Blessing off at Aaron’s house, driving home and began cleaning around and cooking dinner. She began making the pasta hearing a knock on her door. Anne walked over, opening the door when she was pushed back. Anne stumbled, looking up as Austin walked past her. He set the papers he had in his hand down on the kitchen table, Anne walking to the papers, reading them.

“You got the divorce.” Anne whispered, reading over the confirmation. Aaron’s and Phil’s signatures were at the bottom, along with Gielle’s and Austin’s.

“Where’s Blessing?” Austin asked.

“With Aaron, she’s spending the night with him since he hasn’t been able to spend much time with him.” Anne answered.

“Great.” Anne turned to Austin, about to ask something when he pulled her close and kissed her. Anne tried everything she could to push him away, but Austin kept a tight grip on her.

“Let me go!” Anne yelled, moving her head when Austin lowered his head to her neck. “Austin please.”

“Do you not understand that I got the divorce for you and Blessing?” Austin pulled away, holding Anne’s head in his hands. “I love you, I left her for you. I helped you out of your previous relationship for you. I’ve been in love with you since I first laid eyes on you. You never once left my mind since you left me. I want you back, so please let me back, Marie.”

Anne stared at Austin and shook her head, tears building up in her eyes. “Austin, I just can’t. Think of the baby, how will she react to Jack suddenly being gone to you being here?” Anne asked.

“We can work this out baby, please don’t push me away anymore.” Austin pleaded, pulling Anne close to him.

“I don’t want to push you away, but I also don’t want to go back with you this soon. Please understand that.” Austin gritted his teeth and held her tighter, Anne suddenly cautious about what he might do.

“Let me stick around then, to let Blessing get used to me.” Anne thought about it, weighing all the pros and cons, when a knock on the door startled them.

“Is Aaron back?” Austin asked as Anne walked over.

“No, Blessing is spending the night with him.” Anne answered, fixing her hair from the forced make-out. Anne opened the door, Jack standing there, full of thoughts. “Jack?” Anne asked. Jack looked up and at her, and smiled a bit.

“Hey Annie, I was just around, thought I would stop by and see you and the munchkin.” He shrugged, chuckling a bit.

“She’s with Aaron.” Anne answered. Jack nodded, stepping forward as Anne watched him carefully.

“Angel, I’m sorry. I can’t live without you. Will you possibly want to go through the marriage with me again?”
