(Anne’s POV)

I moved out the things from the house I lived in with Jack and used the money I had to buy a small apartment with Blessing. The two of us made it into a small home pretty quick and after three weeks of not hearing from Jack or Austin, I decided to continue life without them.

A knock on my front door had me turn down my music a bit and Blessing ran past me, screaming her little head off in the other direction. I walked over, opening the door and found Alan smiling at me. “Hey, come on in.” I let him in and he sat around the couch, making himself at home. Blessing ran screaming and jumped on Alan who caught her mid-air.

“Hey there beautiful!” He grinned, hugging her tightly. I sat next to them and Alan looked at me.

“Let’s get some food in her.” We made our way out and Blessing began chanting about food.

“How about McDonalds?” Alan asked.

“Yucky.” Blessing stuck her tongue out.

“Wendy’s?”

“No!”

“Then what cutie?” Alan chuckled. Blessing stayed quiet, looking around before spotting a Buffalo Wild Wings. She pointed over to it and Alan hesitated before looking over at me.

“What is it?” I asked, stopping in my spot. Alan turned to me, Blessing singing a song she made up.

“Austin stopped by to eat here with a few friends of ours.” I looked over at the restaurant and sighed. Blessing was looking restless and I knew she was hungry.

“It’s fine.” I sighed, following him to the restaurant. Halfway there, Alan grabbed my hand, linking our fingers and I looked at them, smiling and thinking back to when I used to be with the guys in the beginning. It was a normal thing for us, and it will always be. We walked in, a lady smiling at us and began touching the screen on her computer.

“Table for two and a high chair for the little lady?” She asked. Alan nodded and we followed her as she grabbed the menus and took us to our seats. Alan let my hand go, placing Blessing in the highchair. He sat across from me and Blessing began kicking her small legs, grinning and looking around. I noticed Alan looking behind me and he excused himself, walking past me. I stayed still, Blessing looking at Alan before grinning.

“Daddy!” I was about to shush her when Jack walked up and sat down in Alan’s spot. I stared at him, as he smiled at Blessing and she giggled.

“Jack?” I finally spoke up and he looked over at me and sighed.

“Angel, I love you, but I know you love Austin, am I right?” He asked. I was about to deny it when he scoffed. “Don’t deny it. I know you still love him. If it weren’t for Gielle, you’d allow him back into your life.” I looked down at the table, hearing the chatter around us before I nodded, agreeing to what he said. I felt a hand on my cheek, making me look up and I looked at Jack as he smiled at me.

“Just promise me that I can visit this munchkin whenever I can.” I nodded and Jack stretched over, placing a kiss on my cheek before looking behind me. “I was having lunch here with Alex when I saw you walking in. I’m sorry I haven’t called or tried to contact you, but when I got home and saw all your things gone, I didn’t want to believe you would be gone for long. I began going to Alex’s place until I realized that this would never have worked out.”

I looked at Jack and he smiled at me. “Thanks.” I smiled back and he grinned, looking at Blessing.

“And you beautiful, take care of mommy okay?” Blessing giggled, causing Jack to laugh. He got up, kissing her cheek and my head. “Take care, ladies.” He walked away, me looking at Blessing before Alan came back and sighed.

“Sorry, Austin was wondering why you both were here so I had to clear the air. What did Jack need?” He asked. I smiled and looked at Blessing.

“He took the divorce to court. As far as I’m concerned, Aaron and Phil are witnesses to the whole thing and also, it seems like she’s making a big deal of it.” I nodded, but soon shook my head. I needed to relax and just hang out with Alan, like old times.

“How are you with Sarah?” I asked, his eyes twinkling.

“Great! She’s visiting her parents over in Ohio and I’m taking a flight in about half a week to pay her a surprise visit.” I smiled at him and we ordered our food, Blessing happily eating her fries. After we ate, Alan paid the bill himself and the two of us got up, Blessing wiggling her fingers at Alan. He chuckled, about to pick her up and another set of hands grabbed her and lifted hr with ease.

“How’s my little bundle of joy?” Austin asked Blessing and she laughed. Alan smiled and waved at one of Austin’s friends, walking to him. “How have you both been?” Austin turned to me and I looked at him.

“Good actually, we’re just at home trying to get everything done.” I answered. Austin nodded and smiled at me, before turning to Blessing. The waitress passed by us and smiled at Austin before looking at Blessing and I, her smile fading.

“Is this your sister?” She asked, a bit hopeful.

“No, this is my daughter, Blessing, that’s her mother and hopefully soon my girlfriend, Annemarie.” Austin looked at me and I looked away.

“Well, she sure is a beautiful little lady.” The waitress mumbled, walking away. I walked to Austin and took Blessing from him, having him lean down to me. I turned away, not wanting him to kiss me but instead he kissed Blessing’s head.

“I’ll come back for both of you.” He spoke, determination in his eyes as he walked away.

Am I ready to go back with him?
