Like Loving A Lion (SEQUEL to I'm Not That Perfect)

“Good first show.” Matt said.
I nodded. “Totally.”
“Jeez, what is with you today?” He asked.
“Sorry.” I sighed. “Seeing him again is just. . . difficult.”
“Are you ready to go? The party started like twenty minutes ago.” He replied.
“You are literally so insensitive. Why are we best friends?”
“‘Cause I’m cute.” He winked. “Let’s go.”
“Fine!” I followed him off our bus. There was a massive party being held tonight to celebrate the first show of the tour.
“You can tell him we’re dating if you want to piss him off.” Matt suggested, scoping out the party scene.
“I don’t want to piss him off, you great idiot!” I rolled my eyes.
“Then what do you want to do to him? I wouldn’t suggest fucking him this time because it didn’t get you very far the last time.” He said. “Shit, Avery, introduce me to Vic!”
“Why is that, Matt darling?” I smirked.
“Because I’m a flaming homosexual for him and you know it. He’s a legend.” Matt replied.
“Come on.” I grabbed his arm and pulled him over to where Vic was talking to some guys I’d never met. “Vic babe, this is my favourite guitar player ever. He’s got a massive crush on you as well. Meet Matt.”
“Hey, you have mad skills. Nice to meet you.” Vic said. “This is Kyle and Dan from Real Friends.”
“Aw, really? I love Real-” I was interrupted when someone grabbed my waist and picked me up, kissing my cheek and putting me on his shoulders. “Oh, hey Ron.”
“You look cute tonight. Dressing up for anyone in particular?” Ronnie asked.
I blushed. “Don’t be an asshole. Put me down, I have socializing to do.”
“No way. You know how much fun I have pissing you off.” He said, walking away with me on his shoulders. “Hey, your man’s watching. We could make out if you want to make him jealous.”
“I do not want to make him jealous! Why does everyone think that? And also, he’s not my man.” I replied.
“Let’s get a drink. Are you in a vodka mood tonight or are you feeling whiskey?” He asked, walking to where the drinks -and Austin- were.
“I’m not looking to get shitfaced. Jack and diet coke.” I commanded. We were now within earshot of Austin and Alan. “You have split ends. You need a haircut.”
“You are not my girlfriend or my mom, so you are not allowed to groom me, Avery.” Ronnie replied.
“But I am your friend, Ron. For Christ sakes, I have to remind you to eat half the time!” I rolled my eyes.
“Here.” He said, handing me my drink. “Maybe if you get drunk you’ll stop acting like those monkeys that eat the bugs off of each other.”
“Vic’s dad, he likes me more than he likes his own kids, right, and so every time I go to his house he gets Corona and limes and salt and it’s really badass.” I said.
“We should get matching tattoos, Ave. Like, some poetic shit. Lana Del Rey lyrics or something.” He said.
Austin was always a closet Lana Del Rey fan. I resisted the urge to laugh when Ron said that. “‘Light of my life, fire of my loins.’” I suggested.
“Keep going.”
“And I'm off to the races, cases of Bacardi chasers chasing me all over town,’cause he knows I'm wasted, facing time again at Riker's Island and I won't get out because I'm crazy, baby I need you to come here and save me. I'm your little scarlet, starlet singing in the garden. Kiss me on my open mouth. Ready for you.” I sang, doing my best Lana impression.
“You’re very crazy.” He agreed, putting me back down on the ground.
“Let’s do it, Ron. Tatted. You don’t have much room left though.” I noted.
“Can I kiss you on your open mouth?” He asked.
“I dare you.” I raised my eyebrows. He laughed, leaning in and meeting our lips, all the while watched by Austin Carlile.
