Like Loving A Lion (SEQUEL to I'm Not That Perfect)

Three; Good Girls Bad Guys

“You and Radke? Had no idea that was a thing.” Vic said to me the next afternoon. The day was in full swing and since neither of us played until the evening, we were out watching everyone else.
“It’s not. I don’t even know why that happened.” I replied.
“You don’t know why you had your lips all over him?” He asked.
“As if! It was one kiss. One.”
“Austin was looking.”
“I didn’t do it to make him jealous. You know I’m not that type of girl.” I said, looking over at him. “It just kind of happened.”
“You know I don’t like him.” Vic said.
“I know exactly what you and everyone else, for that matter, think of him.” I said shortly.
“Austin thinks he’s out to steal all his women.” He laughed. “You know Ronnie’s baby mama used to date Austin? And then you-”
“He was talking about me?” I asked quickly.
“We were talking about our dislike for Ronnie Radke, actually, and we realized that there was a direct correlation between that and our unconditional love for you and-”
“I don’t give a shit about that! Tell me about Austin!” I interrupted him again.
“He didn’t say much, probably because he knew one of us would tell you exactly what he did say. Well, it started because we were talking about Radke and then Mike said, and I quote, ‘How did he and Avery even become friends? And she looks hella different but in a good way, you know? I like the new ink.’ and then Austin just kind of gave him this death glare and I think that’s it.” He finished.
“You gossip like a girl.” I laughed softly. “You always have.
“What happened to you, Ave?” He asked.
“I’ve got no idea what you mean.”
“You know damn well what I mean.” Vic said tersely.
“What happened to me?” I snapped. “I lost everything. Call me a fucking drama queen, I dare you. I lost my baby, I lost the person I loved more than anything, and I had to live with the guilt! So if I’ve changed then excuse the fuck out of me, because that’s what happens to people when they go through hell, Vic. They change.”
**
“Ave, babe? I heard you yelled at Vic Fuentes and stormed off. If you did, then that’s badass.” Ronnie knocked on the door of my bus’ bathroom an hour later.
I wiped my eyes and cleared my throat. “Come in.”
He opened the door and sat down beside me on the floor. “You’re a mess.”
“Tell me about it.” I sighed. “Who told you?”
“I overheard him talking about it. What happened?” He asked.
I explained what went down with Vic. “Maybe I overreacted.”
“I don’t think you did. Everyone knows that’s a sensitive subject and he was the one who brought it up.” Ron shrugged. “Tell you what. I go on in half an hour. Put on some leather ‘cause it makes you look hot and come sing Good Girls Bad Guys with me. It’s the theme song of your life.”
I laughed. “I’d be honoured.”
***
“I dedicate this one to my friend Avery. Give it up for Avery Carter!” Ron said, on stage with his band.
“So why do good girls like bad guys? I had this question for a real long time.” I sang, walking out on stage.
“I've been a bad boy and it's plain to see, so why do good girls fall in love with me?” He sang, looking pointedly at me. I rolled my eyes; this was probably a bad idea. “You've got pep in your step. You live your life with no regret.” Ronnie sang, looking over at me and winking. “How you look when you are wet is something I can't forget. I just wanna kiss your lips, the ones between your hips. If I cash in all my chips on you then baby I'd be rich!”
“So come on sexy, please text me, I'm ready for you. So come on, waiting, I'm begging so please get here soon. So why do good girls like bad guys? I had this question for a real long time.” I sang again.
“Ooo lala, what lovely curves. Baby I get off by getting you off first.” Ron sang, looking directly in my eyes. “Sorry girl if this is quick, so please just take it in the ass and suck my dick.”
I flicked him off and walked offstage. Fuck Ronnie, fuck Austin, fuck everyone at that moment.
“Hey, Avery, you’re supposed to be on stage-” An assistant stuttered as I passed.
“Fuck off.” I said without stopping. I’d never been this pissed off in my life.
“You’re playing main stage in twenty minutes!” He called. Good. Payback was a bitch.
****
“I should’ve known when I got you alone
That you were way too into me to know
This isn't love boy, this ain't even close
But you always think we're something that we're not!” I sang once we were onstage. Ronnie was watching from the side. I walked over to him and wrapped one of my hand onto the back of his neck and sang, pulling him into the audience’s view.
“And now you call me every single night
I only answer cause I'm too polite
We happened once, or maybe it was twice
Yeah you always make it hard for me to stop
But you always think we're something that we're not!” He glared at me and left.
You wanna be more than just friends
I can't go through this again
Stop trying get inside my head!”
