Come Waste Away With Me

“Wake up!” I groaned not wanting to open my eyes. “Guys the bus is here we have to go.”
I opened my eyes slightly when my mouth opened to let a yawn escape. “My arm is asleep.” I shot up into a sitting position making dark spots cloud my vision in the process Alan began to chuckle. I fell asleep on Alan last night?
“Sorry.” I stuttered. Before he could say anything I got up quickly and went to the kitchen.
“No time to make coffee sis.” Austin commented. I rolled my eyes. “No need for the eye rolling. We will stop somewhere.”
“Mhm.” I made my way to the stairs. “I need to grab something.”
“Still not a morning person I see?” Austin shook his head. “You’re still grumpy after you spent the night cuddling with Alan?”
I felt my face go red as my feet dragged me up the stairs. Well I’m not going to live this one down… My room was surprisingly clean mostly because I packed up all my stuff. I went to my dresser to grab what I was looking for but it wasn’t there. My heart started racing. I ran to the bathroom. I looked through all the cabinets. I needed it. My breathing became non-existent as a panic attack started. I ran back to my room opening all my drawers. I couldn’t find it. “Austin!” I cried. I fell to the floor.
“What is it?” Austin’s hands were on my shoulders. His brown eyes only showed distress. That’s mostly ever what they show when he’s dealing with me. I’m lucky to have a brother like him. He was always there for me when I had panic attacks. He has so much patience with me it is incredible. I honestly don’t understand how he does it.
“I lost it. I can’t find it.” I was talking fast my words were mixing together.
“Breathe. Breathe.” He breathed with me until I felt like I wasn’t going to pass out. “What can’t you find?”
“Mom’s necklace. I can’t leave without it.” I felt like a child.
“Go downstairs with Alan. I will find it for you.” He helped me get to my feet. “I’ll find it don’t you worry.”
I nodded. “The guys must think it’s annoying to deal with me.”
“They do not find you annoying. Please don’t think that. They love you. Remember when I lost that photo of mom and I literally was crying and punching walls and you found it? They were there for that.”
“I remember.” It was true they were all looking for the photo and I finally found it. But I felt as though this is different. But I trusted Austin and what he said. I made my way down the stairs still shaking but the attack was passing. He will find it. I don’t even remember taking it off.
“You alright there little Aricarie?” Tino smiled softly. You know everybody finds Tino to be intimidating and tough but he is one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet. He was the first one in the band that I became close with. That was only because he found me crying after my first real break up. Then I got close to Phil then Alan. Aaron was last because he came into the band later after Shayley left the band.
“Yeah.” I answered in a shaky voice.
“Come here.” He opened his arms inviting me to hug him. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him. “How are you eighteen?”
“Honestly I have no clue.”
“Here you go Aribear.” Austin came down the stairs holding the necklace.
“Oh my god! Thank you!” I kissed his cheek. I fastened it around my neck.
“Now who’s ready to go on the road?” Phil jumped from the chair he was sitting in.
All the guys hollered in agreement. I shook my head at their childish behavior.

We just pulled into the first venue in Washington. It wasn’t until a few days from now but all the bands wanted to catch up. I got dressed pulling on a shirt from Drop Dead. I placed my bracelets over my wrists. I grabbed a pair of jean shorts and pulled them on. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail. I almost fell over trying to put my vans on my feet. I touched up my makeup and applied another layer of mascara and lip gloss. I shuffled out into the main area of the bus. I stood in front of Austin. He looked at me for a minute before speaking. “What?”
“I want to go outside.” I whined.
“We just got here.”
“Exactly! I miss the fresh air I have been stuck on this bus.” I gave him the puppy dog eyes.
“Fine!” I jumped up and down impatiently. He can never resist my puppy dog eyes.
He pulled on his vans. “Who wants to come?”
All the guys stood. I ran to the door and opened it. I wanted to meet bands especially the ones that inspire me to get better. “Come on!”
“I don’t know if I have ever seen her this excited.” Austin commented.
“She is going to meet bands she loves; I would be concerned if she wasn’t excited.” Aaron said smiling.
I breathed in the fresh air when I walked out of the tour bus. I stood there frozen when I saw bands that I have come to love over the years in the distance. “Oh don’t chicken out now.” Phil winked.
“But they are here right now.” My mouth dropped.
“Okay don’t freak the bands out now.” Austin laughed.
I closed my mouth and took a deep breath. “Ok I’m ready.”
“Well it’s about time.” Tino said causing all of them to laugh.
“Stop laughing at me.” I pouted.
“Sorry Aribear.” Austin apologized.
We walked past bands and more bands. I loved most of them and was trying not to stare at one person for too long. I finally gave up and just looked at the ground. I felt someone pull me to a stop. “Ari, can you wait here for a bit? Stage people have to talk to us about stage set ups I would ask you to come but I think you would be bored to death.” Austin muttered.
“Yea I will be fine.” Hopefully… Alan looked back at me when they walked away but I pretended I didn’t notice. I kicked the ground with my foot. Who was I kidding I’m not just going to stand here. I started walking again. I was just hoping I wasn’t noticed. So far so good.
“Ariana is that you?” I looked up and saw Alex from All Time Low. “Oh my god it is!”
“Alex!” I ran over to him. He picked me up and spun me around.
“I missed you!” He smiled. “Did you grow?”
“I haven’t seen you in a year so maybe.” I laughed.
“Are you tagging along with Austin this tour?” His eyes showed hope.
“Yep!”
“Awesome! Come on I want to introduce you to people.” He smiled while taking my hand.
“Oh no.” I frowned.
“They will love you.” He took my hand in his

“You and me got along just fine! So stop sulking and be happy.” He squeezed my hand.
I didn’t like Alex like me wanting to date him but he is a friend who knows more than my brother does about me. It wasn’t exactly my choice to him learning about me. “You and me meeting was a completely different situation.”
“Oh no it was not.” He laughed.
He wasn’t lying it was almost the same less bands though. “Well there’s no changing your mind so lead the way.”
“Ah I always get my way.” He stuck his tongue out.
“Don’t make me kick you in an area you don’t want to get kicked in.” I glared at him.
“Oo aren’t you feisty.” He was amused.
“Shut the frick up.”
“Still not saying bad words are you? Eh won’t last long here.” He chuckled. “You will soon be cursing up a storm.”
I shook my head clearly annoyed but it didn’t faze him. We walked for quite a bit talking about random things. “You really wandered far.”
“I was trying to find more people but I found you and that’s so much better than finding anyone else.” He was so giddy it is adorable.
I soon found that a smile formed on my lips. “You are too cute it isn’t fair.”
“Oh I know everyone is jealous of me.” I laughed at him. “What? It’s true!”
“I know.” I said still giggling.
He started laughing with me or at me but it didn’t matter. I started laughing at him laughing so he laughed harder. I haven’t laughed this much in a while it felt good it made me forget most things. We rounded the corner while were still in hysterics. I hiccupped a laugh while gasping because I saw the people he wanted to meet and I felt faint. They all turned to face us and I my face go warm. I didn’t know how I was going to comprehend all this let alone talk to them. You think since my brother was famous I would be used to this by now but I am not. Oh here comes the awkwardness.
