The Journal

Chapter 44.

It has been 2 long days stuck doing nothing in this stupid hospital bed. I was very happy I was allowed to go home tomorrow morning.

Oli had not visited, called or even text since our argument the other day. I didn't really know how to feel about it. I mean, I'm not an expert on the whole relationship thing, but I know that trust plays a pretty big part in one.

If he didn't trust me, how could this relationship work?

"We bring you food," I was snapped out of my thoughts by Stella's voice, her and Alan making their way into the room and sitting on the 2 chairs by my bed. I was relieved to see the Mc Donalds bag Alan was holding.

"Thank you so much," I glanced at my untouched tray of disgusting hospital lunch. "If I had to eat more of that I think I might throw up,"

"No problem," Stella smiled, handing me a cheeseburger and some fries. I took a bite of the burger and watch Alan as he scoffs his face. It is if he hasn't been fed for days.

"How did you sneak this in here?" I asked, taking another bite. I wasn't supposed to be having takeaways as my stomach was literally just pumped and it could be "unsafe and to risky". But I really couldn't eat any more hospital food. It was gross.

"Down Austin's pants," Alan shrugged like it meant nothing. My eyes widened and spat out my mouthful.

"Relax! It didn't touch anything!" I rolled my eyes and decided to let it go.

"Where is he anyway?"

"Bathroom," I nodded and continued to eat my food, pretending that it wasn't down Austin's pants 5 minutes ago. Austin's pants food is better than hospital food anyway.

We continued to eat our food and converse at the same time until Austin barged in 3 minutes later.

"Oh thank goodness! The right room!" he exclaimed, sitting on my feet at the end of the bed. I glared at him but didn't try move them. His butt was warm.

"The right room...?" Stella raised her perfect eyebrows, waiting for her boyfriend to explain further.

"Exactly how it sounds. Went in the wrong room... Twice,"

"Damnit Carlile this is why you can't go anywhere by yourself!" I shook my head in disbelief. How could one boy get lost so many times? He is a freaking giraffe!

"Well, I'm sorry I get easily confused," he huffed, pulling out his own food.

"You're so cute when you're confused," Stella smiled, looking up at him through her thick long eyelashes.

"Jesus Christ." I muttered, Alan and I staring at each other and mocked the flirting couple.

"Alright guys, your time is up," Nurse Rose announced, walking into the room while all 4 of us were watching The Little Mermaid on the small TV screen.

"Aww!" we all collectively groaned.

"Please don't leave me! I'm so bored without you!" I pouted.

"We're sorry," Stella frowned, hugging me before standing up. "We will come over to your house tomorrow afternoon to see you, okay?" I nodded.

"I will be bringing Mia to meet you too. Don't embarrass me... Please," Alan begged.
"Never!" I grinned. Alan didn't look to convinced.

"Bye Bonnie," Austin said, leaning his tall frame down to hug me.

"Bye Austin," I whispered. "Have you heard from him?"

He gave me a sympathetic smile, and that was my answer.

"I'm sorry,"

"It's fine," I smiled reassuringly, even though I was upset.

"I'll see you tomorrow,"

"Okay. Bye guys, thank you for coming,"

My friends waved goodbye before heading out, leaving the nurse and I alone.

"You've got some good friends, my dear," she said, changing my drip. Nurse Rose was in her fifties, and the only nurse I liked. She was very nice.

"Most of them," I laughed, but the last thing I wanted to do was laugh at the moment.
"That boy still not contacted you?" Rose asked, nodding at my phone that I have been checking furiously every 5 minutes since my argument with Oli.

"No," I sighed, putting my phone back on the table beside me.

"He seems more trouble than he's worth," she tutted. "Are you sure he's worth it all? You don't want a silly boy using you," I thought about it.

Was Oli really worth all this trouble? If he couldn't trust me, could I trust him?

"Yeah," I nodded. "He's worth every bit of it."

Dad pulled up our driveway, parking the car outside instead of in the garage.

"You going out?" I asked, climbing out of the car and making my way to the front door.

"Yeah," he mumbled awkwardly. "I have a lot of work to do so I will be away for the night,"

"That's okay," I shrugged, waiting for him to unlock the door.

"I'm sorry,"

"It's fine, really," I walked inside making my way up the stairs. "Won't be the first time I'm left alone,"

"Bonnie, please come here,"

"I have to go to bed,"

"Just talk to me,"

"I have to sleep, Dad. I'm tired," I lied.

"Why won't you talk to me anymore?" he called after me.

"You know why!" I walked into my bedroom and closed the door behind me, throwing myself on the bed.

Maybe you're being a little harsh on him...

No. He hasn't tried. I will not feel bad for him.

I looked at the date on my phone and realized I have to go back to school tomorrow.

Oh joy.

Biting at my lip, I contemplated on if I should try call Oli since he has made no effort to contact me. Worth a shot...

I opened up my contacts and hit 'call' beside Oli's name.

"Please pick up, please pick up..."

"Hi, this is Oli. Uh, I guess I couldn't pick up right now, but um... leave a message"

I sighed and hung up in frustration when I heard his awkward voice mail. It didn't even ring... He deliberately ended my call. He didn't want to talk to me.

"Fuck you, Oliver," I hissed, throwing my phone on the floor.

Not a minute later, my phone rang. My eyes widened and I immediately reached for it. Maybe Oli accidentally ended it instead of answering it!

Without looking at the Caller I.D, I answered. "Oli?"

"Sorry for getting your hopes up, Princess," I rolled my eyes and pulled the phone away from my ear, looking at the Caller I.D. 'Asshole'.

Yep, definitely him.

"What do you want, Michael?" I asked with a sigh.

"Just letting you know that I am coming around later on tonight,"

"What? No you're not,"

"Yes I am,"

"No you are not," I argued.

"Yes. I. Am. I have some things I want to talk to you about,"

"If it involves your stupid brother I'm not interested,"

"We'll see. See you later, Bon." I was about to yell at him, but the line went dead. I covered my head with a pillow and screamed into it.

"I hate people."

After everyone had left, I decided to not starve and make some mac and cheese.

It was nice seeing everyone, even though Oli and the Fuentes brothers weren't there. I got to meet Mia, and she is a lovely girl. I approve of her and Alan's relationship.

Sitting down at the table, I placed my bowl down and took a mouthful, picking up a book and began to read.

I haven't had the time to read in a long time.

"Hello,"

"Damnit I just want to read!" I threw my book down and glared at Mike.

"Hey, I told you I was coming over!" he defended himself, taking a mouthful of my mac and cheese before giving it back.

"I told you I didn't want you here!" I sighed. "And don't touch my food. I don't want your cooties,"

"Babe, you've had that mouth of yours wrapped around my dick not long ago. I think you already got 'em,"

"Ugh, don't remind me," I turned away so he didn't see the faint blush on my cheeks. If he seen, he didn't say anything. I was thankful.

"So you're here because...?" I asked for 2 reasons; 1. I wanted to change the subject of our past sex life, and 2. the sooner Mike is out of my house the better.

"Oh, right," he nodded. "Vic is very sorry," I blinked at him. That's it?

"And he couldn't come tell me that himself?"

"Well, no... He's scared of you,"

"He should be! Because of him my boyfriend doesn't trust me and now he won't even talk to me!"

"Hey, don't raise your voice at me! I didn't cause this!"

"Sorry," I apologized with a sigh.

"It's fine. And the other reason I'm here is Mama wanted to invite you around for dinner on Friday,"

"Definitely not a good idea. Tell her thanks but I'm gonna pass this time,"

"Just go, Bonnie,"

"I can't," I shook my head.

"Why can't you?"

"I can't be in a room with Vic without wanting to break his nose," I shrugged.

"Just ignore him,"

"I can't just ignore him, Mike. It doesn't work like that. He could be the cause of my upcoming break up,"

"Why would you dump Oli?" he asked in confusion.

"What? I'm not! He will probably break up with me!"

"If you think he is going to dump you over something you didn't do, should you even be with him in the first place?"

"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" I demanded. I was honestly so done with answering this. "Yes, I want to be with him. I love him more than anything,"

Mike stood up and towered over me, placing his hands on my shoulders while I stared at him, confused.

"If he breaks up with you over a pathetic lie my stupid brother told, he doesn't deserve you in the first place, okay?" I nodded my head and Mike let go of my shoulders, stepping away. "Good. Now please come. Not just for Mom and Dad, but for me? I told you I want to be your friend again. Who knows, maybe I can have my name in your phone changed back to 'Mike' instead of 'Asshole'. It's kind of rude, you know,"

I laughed and shook my head. "Alright, I'll come. But get out of my house,"

"I'm going!" he put his hands up in mock surrender and started heading to the front door with me following him. "See you tomorrow Miss Craig,"

"You too, Mr Fuentes." I smiled and waved before shutting the door behind me, forgetting all about my half eaten mac and cheese and made my way upstairs to get ready for an early night in.

After changing into an old shirt and some trackies, I brushed my teeth and pulled my hair up into a messy ponytail before climbing into bed.

Many thoughts entered my head when I was attempting to fall asleep.

Tomorrow for the first time since the accident I will be seeing Oli and Vic... As enemies. Not Oli and Vic the best mates, but Oli and Vic, the boys who started a fight in the middle of a school dance.

It was going to be a long, awkward day I could already tell.
