The Journal

Chapter 42.

"So you're sure you won't come?" I rolled my eyes at Stella's question.

"I've already told you. I'm not going to this stupid prom,"

"Why not?" she whined, walking out of the changing room in just her underwear, grabbing another dress from the pile beside me before going back in. "It will be so much more fun with you there!"

"I'm going to hang out with Alan," I stated, picking at my nails out of boredom.

We have been in about 6 dress shops in 4 hours, and she still couldn't find one she wanted.

Just as I was about to sigh and think about getting up and leaving, she yelled, "I found it!"

"Show me show me show me!" I yelled back, sounding more excited than I actually was. I was just hoping she was serious and we could get out of here.

Stella walked out of the dressing room with a big smile, and as soon as I saw her I think mine matched hers.

"Stell, that looks perfect!" I gushed.

"You think?" she asked, turning around and attempting to look at her bum. "How does my butt look?"

"Your ass looks fabulous darling," I complimented her.

She was wearing a long and tight red dress with a slit up the left leg, making the dress contrast with her pale skin and show off her curves.

"You're going to look gorgeous," I smiled. I'm definitely taking hers and Austin's pictures tomorrow before they leave.

"Look! This goes perfectly!" she ran over to the rack with the masks on it and picked up a white masquerade mask with red and silver beading and glitter. She tied it around her face with the red ribbons and posed, making me laugh.

"It matches perfectly! Let's go!"

Walking to the food court to get some Chinese food for lunch, I got a phone call from Austin.

"Austin?" I answered in confusion, making Stella stare at me. I put it on speaker.

"Your boyfriend just crashed the driving instructor's car," Stella and I looked at each other before laughing so hard I almost pissed myself.

"What is he even doing in a car?" I asked after I calmed down a bit.

"Well he wanted to get his driving license and I came with him to see how he does. He crashed into a tree,"

"I think he failed," Stella laughed, shaking her head.

"Where is Oli now?" I questioned.

"Getting yelled at,"

"I see," I nodded, trying not to laugh at the image of Oli driving into a tree in my head.

"Wait, is he okay?" Stella asked quickly, and I widened my eyes at the fact that I laughed instead of asking if he was okay.

"Oh yeah, he's fine,"

"Oh good," I sighed in relief.

"We just brought my dress for tomorrow night!" Stella informed Austin, smiling at the phone.

"Really? I can't wait to see it!" I could pretty much hear Austin's smile through the phone.

Oh yeah, they loved each other alright.

"I can't wait for you to get me out of it," Stella smirked, and I widened my eyes at how forward she was being. Did she forget I was standing right here?

"I can't wait for that either, babe,"

"Alright Austin, we gotta go! Bye!" I quickly hung up the phone before any more sexual comments were made.

"What was that for?" she pouted.

"I really did not need to hear that," I shook my head.

"Oh c'mon, don't be shy. You can talk to me about your sex life too, Bon,"

"I don't have a sex life," I laughed.

"You and Oli don't bang?" Stella raised an eyebrow.

"We've had sex like 5 times," I said uncomfortably. "It's nearly impossible to get alone time at either of our houses,"

"How do you live girly? Austin and I fuck every night we are together!"

"I know," I rolled my eyes. "How are you so comfortable talking to me like this?"

"You're my best friend," she shrugged. "I can tell you anything. I want you to feel the same. I won't get uncomfortable, I promise,"

"Okay then," I nodded.

"So, how is Oliver in bed? Austin is the best I've ever had,"

I laughed, linking my arms with hers. "This may take a while..."

"Dad?" I called, opening the unlocked door. His car wasn't here, and I remember locking the door before I left.

I started to panic a little. What if someone broke in?

I was about to head into the kitchen to grab a weapon when I stopped, a piece of paper on the bottom step catching my eye. I picked it up, and laughed at the words written in familiar messy writing.

Who loves a pretty little lady with all their heart, crashed into a tree and failed their driving test?

I began walking up stairs, and on the top step was the start of a rose petal trail. I smiled and followed it, opening my bedroom door and seeing Oli standing with his back to me. I walked closer and took the piece of paper stuck to his ass and read it.

An idiot who really wants to go to prom with his girl.

I shook my head with a smile, making him turn around. He was dressed in a suit and tie holding a single rose with a hopeful smile on his face.

"Go to prom with me, Bonnie? Please?" I took the rose away from him and put it on my bed, then leaning up to kiss him a few times.

"How could I ever say no to you if you do shit like this?" We both laughed and he kissed me again, lightly pushing me back onto the bed, careful not to squish the rose.

He pushed my leg apart and slid between them, kissing my neck while I grabbed at his hair.

"Bonnie? Are you home?" Dad called from downstairs.

Oli and I both groaned in frustration, pulling away from each other and standing up. We walked downstairs hand-in-hand, and Dad looked at Oli's clothing attire.

"Is someone getting married?" I rolled my eyes while Oli chuckled.

"No Mr Craig. I just came to ask your beautiful daughter to be my prom date,"

"You're going to go to a dance?" Dad looked at me with a confused expression.

"I'm surprised too," I nodded, fighting a smile. Before Dad become a complete alcoholic nutter, him and I were very similar. We hated anything to do with dancing, or social events in general. Neither of us were people persons while my mother was a social butterfly.

"Well, alright. Have fun then," Dad grumbled awkwardly, leaving the room. Oli made sure he was out of hearing range before looking down at me.

"He doesn't seem to bad. I don't understand why you hate him so much,"

"No one ever does," I mumbled under my breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing," I quickly said, assuring him with a smile.

"Alright then," Oli kissed my forehead, and then my lips. "I best be going. I'll see you tomorrow night,"

"Okay. Goodnight,"

"Night Bon. I love you!" he called, halfway out the door.

"I love you too!" I yelled back. I heard Dad pretend to puke in the next room and I shook my head at his immature gesture, going back to my room to call Stella.

"I'll pick you up at 10 to go dress shopping." I was about to reply but she hung up. I looked at my phone, confused.

What the fuck just happened?

"How on earth did you know?" I asked, climbing into Stella's car the next morning.

"We all knew," she rolled her eyes. "Ever since you said no to Oli the first time, he's been planning this ridiculous but romantic way to make you agree to go with him,"

"Even Jaime, Matt and Alan?" I stared at her in disbelief.

"Even Jaime, Matt and Alan," she nodded.

Oli that cheeky little shit.

"I hate you all," I laughed, pushing her shoulder lightly.

"Don't push me unless you want us to crash!"

----

"I feel so awkward..." I admitted, walking into the dress store with Stella behind me.

I've never gone dress shopping for me before, and it was a weird feeling.

"Oh shush. We're going to get you the most perfect dress that Oli is going to drool over... and then bang you in the school parking lot. You can borrow my car if you'd like some more privacy,"

"What is wrong with you?" I demanded, ignoring the creeping blush on my cheeks.

"Did I just make you blush?"

"No," I snapped, making her laugh even harder.

"Oh my god I did! The Bonnie Craig actually blushes!"

"Of course I do! I'm still a human!" I rolled my eyes, beginning to look through a random section of dresses to distract myself from her words.

"Bonnie, you're not getting married,"

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "Of course I'm not -" I stopped talking and stepped back, realizing I was looking at wedding dresses.

"Oh,"

"Yeah, oh. Come on, let's go find you a dress."

Stella dragged me to a section of dresses my size and started grabbing random ones, shoving them into my arms. The lady behind the counter was shooting glares at Stella for treating the dresses so badly - which no surprise, Stella couldn't give two shits about. I gave the lady an apologetic look, before Stella pushed me into the the changing room.

"Um, what one should I try first?" I asked.

"Any! But you have to come out and show me!"

I picked up the first dress, not really looking at it and shrugged off my old clothes, pulling the dress over my underwear. I looked at the mirror and my jaw dropped.

"I look like a nun!" I said.

"Show me!"

"No!"

"I'll come in if you don't come out!" Stella warned. I sighed and pulled back the curtain.

Stella blinked a few times before bursting into fits of laughter, grabbing her phone and taking pictures while I stood there with a frown.

"I'm going back in now," I said, turning around and closing the curtain. I took off the long black dress and picked up the next one. This was going to be a long day.

-----

"What about this one?" I asked, walking out of the changing room to show Stella. I didn't even bother to look in the mirror for the past few dresses because even if I liked them, Stella didn't.

She looked up from her phone and gasped, squealing in excitement.

"That's the one! It's so pretty!" she stood up and pushed me into the dressing room, making me look in the mirror.

It was a gorgeous dress, but I still had my doubts. It was a kind of midnight blue colour that was tight around the chest and flared out around the waist, the length ending at about mid-thigh. It had a peacock design on it, and it made my boobs look bigger. It fit me perfectly, but I was hesitant about the strapless part.

"I don't know, Stell..." I said uncertainly. She sighed.

"You've got a killer body, love. You deserve to show it off sometimes."

After finally winning me over, Stella convinced me to get the dress and we finally left the store with the dress and a black and blue masquerade mask with silver sequins. We were now heading to Stella and Kellin's house where we were meeting Alan who was going to help us get ready out of boredom.

Stella showered first while I set out her makeup and hair stuff, while Alan was going through her lingerie drawer.

"Sorry for ditching you," I apologized, setting down the hairbrush on Stella's dresser.

"It's cool. I have a date anyway," Alan shrugged.

"What?" I immediately got defensive. Alan wasn't allowed to date, he's my baby! "Who is she? Is she a bitch? How old is she? Can I meet her?"

"Chill," he laughed, throwing a teddy at me. "She's the same age as me, and we have a lot of the same classes together. Her name's Mia and she is the sweetest and prettiest girl ever,"

I had to stop myself from aww'ing.

"Can I please meet her?" I begged.

"Well we'll see how this goes," Alan mumbled nervously.

"Aww she'll love you my little ginger friend," I hugged him. "And if she doesn't I'll beat her up," I whispered to myself.

"What?"

"Nothing."

-----

After Alan left, Stella and I were pretty much finished. The boys would be here in about half an hour, so we didn't have a lot of time to finish up.

"Remind me again why I'm going to this thing?" I asked, applying more mascara to my eyelashes.

"Because you're going to spend a nice cliche evening with your boyfriend,"

"Right," I nodded. When we had both finished, we stood in front of the floor length mirror, observing ourselves.

"We look hot," Stella stated. I nodded.

Stella looked amazing with the red dress and shoes, paired off with her orange and red makeup giving her that red hot chic look.

I on the other hand had on the midnight blue dress on paired off with some black wedges I borrowed from Stella as I still couldn't wear heels. My hair was pinned back in loose curls and I had a bluey-purple shaded eyeshadow look with dark eyelashes, a look that stood out with the mask. The dress also pushed up my boobs a little, something I was insecure about but Stella said it looked great.

"Stella, Bonnie! Everyone's here! They have had their photos taken so it's your turn!" Bryce yelled from downstairs.

"Photos?! Oh hell no!" I shook my head.

"Do I need to chase you and make my dad come in with a baseball bat again?" Stella glared.

"No..." I sighed. We put our masks in our bags and made our way downstairs, immediately getting wolf whistles and compliments from the boys.

"Look at you both!" Austin grinned, kissing both of our cheeks.

"Look at you all!" I gushed, looking over the handsome guys in suits in front of me.

"We look pretty great, I must admit," Jaime said, playfully kissing Tony's neck. He laughed and pushed him off.

"Picture time!" Bryce smiled, getting a picture of Stella and I smiling. We then took a few group photos before deciding it was time to leave.

"Okay, everyone put their mask on," Austin instructed when we were outside the school hall. Students were passing us, and they all looked pretty great I must admit.

I looked at the boys masks, and seen it went in a pattern. That's cute!

Austin : black, Matt : white, Oli : black, Kellin : white, Jaime : blue -

I looked at Jaime, Mike, Tony and Vic. Jaime had blue, Tony had red/orange, Mike had purple and Vic had yellow.

"You did not all get Ninja Turtle masks," I said in disbelief.

"We did and we're proud of it," Mike smirked proudly.

"They ruined the whole black and white pattern thing, the jerks," Matt sighed.

"I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle!" Tony defended.

"You're a turtle everyday!" Stella complained. "You had to ruin the cutesy thing you had going on there,"

"It's just a few hours," Vic shrugged. "Let's go in,"

When we all had our masks on, we walked inside, our ears immediately greeted with loud dance music.

We all went and sat down, grabbing a punch each before talking in a group like we normally do. It wasn't much later when Every Rose Has It's Fawn by Poison started playing, and everyone got up to dance. Oli stood up and held his hand out to me.

This was the part I'm scared of. Dancing.

"I can't dance..." I mumbled awkwardly.

"Neither can I. Come on," I hesitantly reached out for his hand, standing up and letting him lead me to the rest of the couples dancing.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me tighter against his body, while I slung mine over his shoulders. We began to sway side to side, and it actually felt nice. After the song had finished, the start of one of my favourite songs ever began playing. I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith.

"Mind if I, uh, cut in?" Vic tapped Oli's shoulder. We both stared at him in shock.

"Of course mate. You don't mind Bonnie?" I shook my head no.

"See you in a bit," he smiled, kissing my forehead and walking off in another direction.

"What are you doing?" I asked, swinging my arms over his shoulders like I did to Oli.

"I miss you," he answered simply. He had removed the ridiculous mask and I stared into his eyes and looked at his warm smile. I've missed it.

"I miss you too," I admitted.

"Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep cause' I'd miss you babe, and I don't wanna miss a thing," Vic softly sung along. I smiled at his voice and put my head on his chest, enjoying the moment. I have really missed him.

"I love you Bonnie,"

I looked up and sighed. "Vic..."

"I'm not saying you have to love me back. I just think it should be me," he pressed a long kiss to the corner of my mouth, dangerously close to my lips. "Think about what you really want,"

Vic was suddenly ripped away from me, and Oli had him by the collar of his suit.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing with my girlfriend?" he spat.

"What did it look like I was doing?" Vic smirked.

"We didn't do -" I was cut off by Oli's fist colliding with Vic's jaw, and I almost screamed.

"She's mine," Oli glared, while people stepped away as the fight began to get serious.

"She was mine first," Vic landed a punch on Oli's mouth, busting his lip.

"Stop!" I screamed, pulling frantically at my hair.

"She doesn't want you that way, Victor," Oli clenched his jaw.

"How do you know? What if I've already fucked her?" Vic smirked again, setting something off in Oli. That's when the hits started really coming, repeatedly. Punches and kicks were exchanged, and the boys and teachers were trying to pull them away from each other. The whole room was frantic, yelling and screaming. I didn't know what to do, so I did the thing I was most good at; I ran.

Mike's POV

I seen Bonnie take off, and with another failed attempt at trying to get Vic away from Oli, I knew I had to chase her.

I made my way out the back entrance, where I seen her run to.

And sure enough, she was sitting on the curb, angry and frustrated tears running down her face along with smudged makeup. I was trying not to look at her almost exposed boobs. She was trying to light a smoke, but her lighter wasn't working. With a frustrated scream, she threw the lighter away. I grabbed mine from my tux pocket, lighting it for her in silence.

I watched her breathe out the smoke, watching it circle in the dark sky.

"I see now why I've never had any friends. I'm a fuck up,"

"You're a fuck up?" I stared at her in disbelief. "Bon, that was all Vic and Oli. Not you,"

"But I caused it. I don't deserve any of you. I'm such a fuck up!" I looked at her face. She wasn't even crying anymore... It looked like she was emotionally drained.

"I'm exhausted. I'm tired of everything,"

"I know," I kissed her cheek, not caring if she ended slapped me for doing so. She didn't. "I'm going to head inside, it's cold and I should check up on the dickheads. You coming?"

"Nah, I'll stay here," I nodded and threw her my jacket. She gave me a confused look.

"You might want to put that on your lap. You can see up your dress," Bonnie quickly covered her legs with the jacket, giving me a small smile.

"Thank you. For being the one to come out here and everything,"

"No problem, Bon.. I'll see you soon." I smiled, making my way back inside.
