The Journal

Chapter 24.

May 17, 11:46am, 2003

It's Jaime's 17th birthday, and we're all going out
to do things of Jaime's choice. I'm a bit scared.

"I hate Roller Coasters," I muttered. We were currently waiting in line to go on the Roller Coaster at Canobie Lake Park. Jaime made us drive 2 hours to get here.

"Well you should learn to love them," Jaime poked my dimple before jumping up and down on the spot.

"Do we have to go on it?" Vic asked, holding my hand and swinging it.

"Of course you do,"

"But you can go on it and we can -"

"WE'RE ALL GOING ON THE DAMN RIDE!"

"Okay, okay!" We all slowly got in the ride and belt and bars tightened on us. These things are just so bloody unsafe!

"If I fall out and die, I love you all!" I announced.

"I love you too!" A random guy behind me said.

"Not you, you weirdo! I don't know you!"

"I LOVE YOU BONNIE!" Alan shouted.

"I LOVE YOU TOO ALA - AHHHHHH!" Everyone started screaming as the coaster took off. We went round in circles, upside down, straight up, straight down, loopdey loops and twists, and I honestly don't remember the last time I've felt this sick.

---

"That was so much fun!" Jaime laughed, not looking phased at all. Everyone else was swaying, looking green and pale, and looking like they need to throw up.

"Oh, I'm going to throw up," Kellin said. That's what everyone is sayi- Oh god he's actually throwing up.

"Eww, that's disgusting," I frowned, patting his back and holding his hair back.

"Should we go get some ice-cream?" Austin asked once Kellin wasn't chucking his guts up.

"I can do with some ice-cream," Tony agreed.

"Me too!" Matt grinned, running off to God knows where.

"I'm not ready for ice-cream," Oli mumbled.

"Neither," I sighed, feeling even worse now.

"Well we're going to get ice-cream. See you guys later," Mike waved. They all went off, leaving Oli and I alone.

"So, what do you want to do?" Oli turned to me. I grinned and pulled his hand.

"A hall of mirrors? Really?" Oli asked when we were standing outside the door.

"I love it! It's fun!"

"Fine," He shook his head, but I could tell he was hiding a grin. We opened the door and found the long, narrow hall full of mirrors empty.

"It's actually really creepy when it's empty," I admitted.

"Don't be a baby. C'mon, you're the one who wanted to come in here! Check out some mirrors!" Oli walked in and I followed, laughing as in the first one he was short and round.

"You look like an Oompa Loompa!"

"Oompa Loompa Doopity Do!" he sung. We checked out all the mirrors, laughing and having a good time, until we came to a normal mirror. I frowned at my reflection and my hands tensed at my sides.

"Who's that beautiful girl?" I looked around to see who Oli was talking about, finding no one else.

"What are you talking about? We're the only ones -" He cut me off my turning my body and making me face my reflection.

"There she is. Isn't she beautiful Bonnie?" I sighed and looked down, letting a tear escape. Oli wrapped his arms around my stomach and leaned his chin on my shoulder.

"You see that girl there? She's here for a purpose. She's in this world to be herself, and she deserves to be happy. She should love herself, because she's so fucking beautiful," He placed his hand just above my left breast, on my heart. "This is beating for a reason. And Bonnie, I want you to know that you mean the world to me, and you don't need to cry," I turned around to face him and gave him a weak smile.

"Thank you,"

"Shh, I want to try something. Tell me if you want me to stop," My breath hitched when he tenderly took my face in both hands and lowered his face. "Close your eyes for me Baby," My eyes fluttered closed and my heart flooded with warmth at his words. His breath hit my lips and I knew he was close. His nose nudged mine and his top lip brushed against my bottom one.

"Bonnie? Oli? Are you in here?!" Oli stepped away and my eyes snapped open, staring at Matt down the other end.

"Yeah Matt! Coming!"

"What's wrong?" Vic asked, nudging my arm with his.

"What? Oh nothing," Lies. I was extremely disappointed that Oli didn't kiss me. Because I know he won't attempt to do it again anytime soon. Vic gave me a curious glance, and then over to Oli at the opposite end of the table. He was very quiet, and picking at his food.

"You two have a fight or something?" he whispered.

"No," I shook my head. "I'll tell you later." Vic agreed and I decided to stop being rude and talk to everyone.

We were in a nice restaurant that Austin and Tony booked for Jaime's birthday. It had balloons around the table, and we all had party hats on, thanks to Jaime and his demands. It was a nice place, and they were giving Hime his meal for free. After our meals, a birthday cake came out and we started singing Happy Birthday. To be honest, I did not know there was going to be a birthday cake, but I'm not complaining. We all had a piece of cake, with an exception of Alan who ate 3, and we all went to pay for our meals.

"Hello Miss," the man behind the counter smiled at me.

"Hey, I'm here to pay for my meal," I smiled back.

"No need, you're covered,"

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"Someone already paid for you. Have a nice night," he grinned, giving the thumbs up to Oli who done it back. When he seen me looking, he quickly ran out the door.

"Ooh someone's gotta crushhhh!" Kellin sung, poking me in the arm.

"Oh shut up," I laughed, pushing him into the wall.

"Thank you." I whispered to Oli outside before jumping on Alan's back so he could carry me.

"JAIME! NO!" I yelled as he picked me up and threw me into a giant ball pit. We were originally walking back to the cars, but we found a really cool kids place that had bouncy floors, bouncy castles, a giant playground and a giant ball pit, which I am now in.

Jaime laughed and jumped in with me. A little boy looked at us and threw a purple ball at my face.

"Oww! That hurt you little jerk!" I threw one back.

"Oww!"

"Hah!" I pointed at him, poking the tongue.

"Oh it's on," We started to throw plastic balls at each other, and Jaime joined in. This was fun!

"Bonnie! Jaime! You can't throw things at children!" Vic scolded us, lifting me out of the pit, followed by Jaime.

"He started it!" I pointed at the smirking child in the ball pit.

"It doesn't matter. You are both adults now, and you don't -" Jaime and I ran off towards Tony who was on the bouncy floor. We all started laughing and began a game of Ring Around the Rosie.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAIME!"
