I was walking back from catering alone. After what had happened with Mike got out I've been avoiding a lot of people. Including, Abby, the boys, Alan and Austin. Matty I can't avoid, we're living together. I stopped walking and scanned my surroundings. Mike and Vic were walking towards me. They hadn't seen me yet though. I hid around a tour bus and backed up against it. I heard them stop walking and Mike sigh. "Mike!" I heard Vic snap.
"Leave it. You don't think I know what you're going to say,"
"You're not trying hard enough,"
"Not trying hard enough," Mike echoed. "I chased her and nearly broke a fucking door down to see her! How hard can I try?"
"You're chasing her. She doesn't need chasing. She needs you proving yourself to her,"
"How can I do that?" he asked quietly.
"By admitting to her what you did,"
"How many times do I need to say it? I didn't cheat! The last time I saw Sasha she tried to kiss me. I pushed her away and told her I loved Kayleigh then called her a bitch,"
"You're telling the truth?" Vic asked quietly.
"Yeah," Mike replied. I bit my lip. Hearing him tell Vic confirmed everything. He didn't cheat. I know Mike loves me and I loved him too. I think I still do. But I know there's something going on with Sasha. Maybe he never cheated on me, but Sasha is involved somehow. Mike apparently hit her and tortured her mentally. I need to know if that's true.
"You have to do something quick. Warped is over soon," Vic reminded him.
"There's only one person that can prove I never cheated. And she isn't likely to help me,"
"Sasha," Vic filled in.
"She's off her fucking head,"
"Do you know what she told Kay'?"
"No," Mike said quickly. "It could be anything. I just want her back, Vic,"
"It's not that easy. You know that,"
"I want her to be mine again. I know I don't deserve her, but I want her back," Mike sighed. I inhaled a sharp breath. I couldn't stand hearing him in so much pain. But I couldn't just forgive him. I needed to figure everything out first.
"Kayleigh?" Mike asked weakly.
"Mike," I replied. He had walked around the bus. Vic was standing behind him. Mike looked at my face and frowned slightly.
"I'll let you two talk," Vic said. As Vic walked away I looked down. I felt Mike step closer to me and I backed up against the bus.
"You look well, Kay'," he muttered.
"You look like shit," I told him.
"I know I do," he laughed.
"I'm sorry," I breathed. I brought a hand up to my mouth. Then I looked up at Mike. He was watching me carefully. I started to shake slightly and he noticed. Mike brought his hand up to stroke my cheek and I let him. I put my hand over his and tilted my head to the side a little. I sighed lightly and Mike smiled. But then a sound escaped my lips. The sound was choked and quiet.
"Please let me hold you," Mike begged.
"I can't Mike,"
"You need me, Kayleigh. And I need you," I let him wrap his arms around me. I rested my head on his chest. Mike stroked my hair and rested his lips on my head.
"Why am I doing this?" I asked.
"I never cheated on you. You know that, right?"
"I don't know," I lied.
"If you ever think I would set out to hurt you, you're insane,"
"You hid things from me. I can't pretend like everything is okay. It isn't,"
"It's so hard for me to see you. If we can't get back together, I can't see you anymore," Mike explained.
"Can you just be quiet? I want to pretend that everything is back to normal before I have to remember what happened,"
"I want that too," he told me. "I'm going to sort this out. I'm going to make you love me again,"
"You think I don't love you," I commented.
"Don't feed me the I'm just not in love with you bullshit,"
"I wasn't going to," I breathed.
"We're not together, though?"
"No, sorry," I shook my head. I pulled away from him. Then I walked away slowly. I was fighting the urge to look back. But I couldn't.
