Too Soon

Eleven

Danny knocked on the door of Of Mice and Men's bus and we waited. The door opened and I saw Tino. He smiled and stood back to let us in. Danny dumped his bag onto the floor and went to sit down.
"Didn't know you were due round," Tino said.
"They're not!" Alan called from the kitchen.
"Thanks, Ginger!" I called.
"Austin's in the shower," Aaron informed me.
"We didn't just come to see Austin," Danny rolled his eyes. "Or at least I didn't,"
"I didn't either," I reminded him.
"We believe you," Phil said.
"We have an interview with Pierce the Veil," I explained.
"Cool," Alan nodded.
"Any advice to get a fun interview? You know my feelings on just asking the band questions,"
"Be as racist as possible," Alan said flatly.
"She can't do that," Aaron rolled his eyes.
"Fine, get them to be racist. Ask to see Vic's sombrero," Alan countered.
"Direct questions at Tony or he won't answer," Phil thought.
"Oh hey," Austin said as we came out of the bathroom in just a towel.
"Hi," I smiled. He walked over to me and sat down next to me. I leant in and kissed him.
"You hanging out today?" he asked.
"I've got an interview to do," I explained and kissed him again.
"I better see you later,"
"You will," I breathed, my hand running down his chest. "See you later," I told him. Then I kissed him one last time.
"Let's do these Mexicans!" Danny called. Austin looked at me and raised his eyebrows.
"We're interviewing Pierce the Veil," I explained. But he kept his eyebrows raised. "Guys!" I urged.
"They are," Aaron defended. "Right?"
"Right," Phil and Tino said in unison.
"They are doing them so hard," Alan said. I looked at him and stuck my tongue out. "Mature," he commented.
"Again bye," I told them.
We walked off of the bus and started to Pierce the Veil's. Danny nudged me and I looked at him questioningly. "What?" I asked.
"What is going on with you and Austin?"
"Your guess is as good as mine, Dan,"
"Are you together then?" he asked and I nodded.
"We just sort of keep seeing one another but neither of us has called it official. I think we're both a bit confused," I admitted.
We stopped in front of Pierce the Veil's bus and I knocked the door. We waited a minute and someone opened the door. "Hi," I smiled and showed him my badge.
"Hey, come in," he urged.
"Thanks," I told them. We were taken into the front lounge and found the other band members sat down. "I'm Gemma," I told them.
"Danny," Danny waved.
"This is Jaime," the shorter one said gesturing round. "Tony, Mike and I'm Vic,"
"Cool," I nodded.
"You're the one who does weird interviews," Mike said.
"Probably," I nodded and Danny snorted.
"I watched that bus tour thing you did with Of Mice," Jaime said.
"The verdict?"
"Funny," Tony said.
"We watched the second one," Vic said.
"Really?" I sighed.
"We were watching it like I can't believe she posted it," Jaime said.
"Alan's question right?"
"Yeah," Vic nodded.
"Ready?" Danny asked.
"Sure," he nodded and passed me a mic. He started recording and I smiled. I sat in between Tony and Vic.
"This is Gemma recording in for the 'Followers' and I'm here with possibly the most sexy Mexican's alive," I said into the camera. "Pierce the Veil,"
"Hey," they said in unison.
"How're you guys?"
"We're great," Vic replied.
"Now, could you introduce yourselves for me?" I asked and held the mike to them.
"I'm Vic and I sing and play guitar,"
"I'm Jaime and I play bass,"
"I'm Tony and I play guitar,"
"And I'm Mike and I play drums," Mike finished.
"Now I didn't know what to do with you guys. So I went to ask advice from some friends,"
"Yeah?" Vic urged.
"I think you know the Of Mice and Men boys," I said.
"We do," Mike laughed.
"And they're the second band to tell me that you're racist. What's going on guys?"
"We're not racist," Jaime laughed.
"You so are," I grinned.
"Who was the other band?" Vic asked.
"Sleeping with Sirens. At their interview last week,"
"Do you think you're racist, Tony?" I asked.
"No," he shook his head. "It's allowed, we're Mexican so we can't get in trouble for picking on other Mexicans,"
"It's cool. I'm British, we're racist too. Just look at Prince Phillip," I said lightly. "By the way, something else I was told. Ask Tony direct questions he has to answer," I said and the others laughed. "I've also been given a tip off that you have a sombrero, Vic,"
"I do!" he exclaimed.
"Go get it," Mike urged. Vic got up and went out of shot. He came back a minute later wearing a sombrero and grinning.
"I like it," I told him.
"And it's from Mexico. Authentic," Vic added.
"Can I wear it?" I asked urgently.
"Sure," he nodded. I took it and put in on my head.
"I'm actually going to wear this for the entire interview," I told them. "Now, do you sombrero wearing guys party hard?"
"We sort of do," Mike thought.
"Okay, worst drunk memory?"
"I don't know. I think most people have heard of Tony climbing onto the roof of our RV by now," Vic said. I turned to Tony and raised my eyebrows.
"I'm going to embarrass you now and ask why?"
"I was drunk. I never got that drunk until I met these guys though," Tony said.
"Don't pretend like we changed you," Jaime laughed.
"We just . . Um . . Unleashed something," Mike filled in. I laughed and looked at the camera.
"Okay, you know how many fan girls are writing fifty shades style fan fiction about Tony Perry and his bitches unleashing him right now,"
"Don't," he winced.
"I have also heard a story from Austin Carlile that Jaime went missing at a party once," I said.
"Oh yeah," Mike laughed. "See, he can't get drunk without falling asleep in some inappropriate place," he explained.
"He's also that friend that goes walkabout when he's drunk," Tony added.
"Tell us what happened, Jaime?" I urged.
"I got lost," he replied briefly.
"And?"
"The bus drove off without me. I had to get a cab thirty miles," Jaime finally said. "You already knew the story. You just want our fans to think I'm stupid," he laughed.
"Those fans who are shipping you with The Perry?" I questioned and they started laughing.
"Can we get back to Austin? I'm hearing rumours," Jaime said.
"Oh yeah. Lets go into that," Vic added.
"Let's not," I tried. "The Of Mice boys are my friends, that's it," I lied into the camera.
"I can vouch for that. She's secretly in love with me," Jaime said.
"I'm so in love with Jaime," I said and put our heads together and smiled.
"We're going to Vegas to get married,"
"My wedding which of course the Of Mice boys are all invited to," I added.
"I'm so there," Mike laughed.
"Okay, serious question time. When the hell are you guys going to release a new CD?"
"Never. Our future records will all be on vinyl," Vic said easily.
"Tony, give me a clue," I begged.
"I can say that Jaime has written a song for Gemma. The title is a work in progress but so far he's come up with 'Serenade to the World's Most Awesome Interviewer'," Tony replied.
"Can I get that on a t-shirt?" I asked hopefully.
"I hope so," Mike said.
"Back home in the UK. Blue Banana market that!" I ordered.
"You're so British it's painful," Vic said.
"Wow, thanks," I smiled and looked up some real questions on my phone.
