This One's For You
Open Letter
"Alan," What do I say? He likes me...Maybe I should just wait, see if I have any feelings for him. Figure out my feelings towards Austin. "I just broke up with Travis, and I'm not exactly ready to be in a relationship or anything like that. Maybe we should just stay friends right now." He looked slightly hurt. Did I say the wrong thing? Oh god, he's going to hate me.
"Yeah, that, uh, sounds like a good idea. Yeah, sorry for telling you that. Maybe now wasn't the best time. I'm sorry." He just looked at his hands.
"Hey, Aladdin is over want to watch something else? There's more Disney movies, but I have some really cheesy syfy flicks too." He quickly went to find the Syfy movies and settled on Sharktopus. The effects were horrible but I had fun watching it with Alan. After the movie was over we both crashed on the couch, him on one end and I on the other.
When I woke up Austin was eating cereal in his bunk and laughing with Tino about something he said. Austin looked up and saw I was awake, "Ciara! GOOOOODD MORNING !" He was obviously a morning person. I just nodded and walked into the restroom, I looked like a total mess. So I jumped in the shower and washed my hair, careful to avoid hurting my ribs any more than I already had. When I got out of the shower I realized I hadn't brought a new change of clothes into the shower so I yelled at the boys to close their eyes so I could grab my clothes. I settled on my pink tank top with skulls and a pair of Denim cutoffs with my pink vans. I quickly straightened my hair and did my makeup perfectly. I looked pretty hot for someone who just got her ribs broken.
I walked out of the bathroom ready for the day, "Hey you guys got any cereal I'm starving." Austin passed me a box of Lucky Charms. After I picked out all of the cereal I ate a bowl of Lucky Charms marshmallows. Just how I like it. After I had finished the bowl Austin was staring at me wide eyed. "What are you looking at?" HE just nodded at my empty bowl,
"You only ate the marshmallows? Whatever floats your weird little boat, I guess." All the sudden there was a loud bang and then a moan. Alan fell off the couch, I couldn't help but laugh then Tino and Austin started laughing too. Phil eventually joined. Alan got up and walked into the kitchen area like a grumpy old cat. He sat down with his bowl of Lucky Charms and picked out all of the cereal then ate the marshmallows, just how I like it.
After a breakfast full of laughing and Alan pouting we stopped at some weird truck stop and bought lame trucker hats and coffee cups with weird phrases. Another two hours and we'd be at the next venue. When we got there It was about 9 in the morning and all the stages were being set up. We hung out on the bus a little more and then went to talk to the other bands. Austin introduced me to Sleeping with Sirens, All Time Low, Mayday Parade and Pierce the Veil. Everyone seemed so nice, I hope we get to hang out with them more. The guys from Pierce the Veil were probably the most hug oriented group. They all hugged me before I could even tell them my name. We walked around more, watching smaller bands play, there were some really good ones. Austin took me to watch Bring Me The Horizons set, and it was amazing. BMTH was my favorite band. I haven't really listened to them lately. They were playing when the incident happened two years ago. I started remembering it was all so vivid, I left in the middle of BMTHs set not wanting to cry in front of everyone.
Austin found me a little later crying by the buses, I just needed to be alone. "What's wrong? Do your ribs hurt?" He looked really worried. I just shook my head no and he sat down next to me on the ground. I leaned into his shoulder and calmed down a bit. I really didn't want him to see me like this. When I stopped crying I wiped my eyes and just sat there still leaned against his shoulder.
"Ciara, please tell me what's going on. I hate seeing you like this. He was rubbing little circles on my back and holding onto one of my hands. I looked up and he just looked into my eyes, you could see all of the worry in them. Should I tell him what happened two years ago? Nobody knows about it.
"Austin, two years ago at my last Warped I-I was raped."
