Stay With Me
With me and Austin just making up not even a week ago Warped was drawing to an end and I had no idea what was going to happen between us. Will he just drop me off a home and never look back? What happens next? I couldn't imagine being without him.
Before my thoughts could take a turn down a dark and twisty path Austin popped into my bunk with a bowl of lucky charms with only the marshmallows. God, he knows me so well. "Thank you babe." I leaned of and pecked him on the cheek, he still hadn't shaved so he was prickly, but I didn't mind. We sat there in silence while i ate my lucky charms and he stared at sticky stars.
"Austin," I sat up, "what happens when Warped tour is over?" He grabbed my hand and leaned into my ear,
"Don't worry about that, trust me." After breakfast we wandered around a bit listening to all of the bands play for what seemed like the last time. Then the guys had to go on stage and I sat backstage drumming my fingers to the rhythm. Why can't this last forever? Me sitting back stage watching Austin perform for all of his amazing fans. Why can't we be forever? I couldn't imagine a world without Austin.
Ten minutes before the show ended Vic came back stage and sat down next to me. "So this is the end, huh? I know, it always gets to me, the end of a tour. Like a tiny piece of you is gone but it's replaced by this much bigger feeling of completeness than the last time." He looked over waiting for an answer.
"Yeah, I was just thinking about how I wish this could last forever. Sleeping in my bunk with my sticky stars, and watching movies in the back lounge with the guys. Eating ice cream and venting to you. It's all going to be over soon..." He pulled me up to my feet and gave me a big hug, Just then Austin called me onto the stage, Vic whispered "good luck.". Why was Austin calling me on stage? I Quickly fixed my hair and readjusted my clothes.
"This, everyone, is the love of my life. She means so much to me." He turned towards me and the guys were playing softly in the background when Austin dropped to one knee. The crowd was freaking out. Was this really happening? Is Austin really going to ask me to marry him?
"Ciara, you mean everything to me. A life without you in it, is a life that I'm not ready to live. I can't even imagine what it would be like to wake up, 80 years old in bed next to another woman. So Ciara, will you be the woman I wake up to everyday for the rest of my life?" The crowd was on fire chanting 'yes'. I had the biggest, stupidest grin on my face when i grab the microphone from him,
"You know I don't like dumb questions, of course I'll marry you. I can't wait to wait up next to you when we are 80 years old and still happy." He put the ring on my finger, stood up and spun me around in circles. When we stopped spinning he kissed me lightly on the cheek and I left the stage. I can't wait to spend forever with him.
