*flashback: one year before*


'' And now next on our karaoke night, it's Miss Emily Burton, singing Slipknot's new record, Snuff! '' I shocked looked straight to the five people i was surrounded with, who in fact where my best friends.

'' You guys know I hate singing in public!''

'' Oh c'mon Em, it's just one song. And no one better than you to sing it.'' Felicia said. I looked to her and made a face. To be honest, if I don't do it now, i never will, tho I'm terrified of singing, even if it is just for one person.

'' Ugh Ok, i'll go, but only if you guys pay me a beer later. '' I said standing up.

''I'll pay you everything you want. '' Joe said laughing.

I walked towards the mini-stage where they had a flatscreen with the lyrics and the microphone.the music started to play and I closed my eyes. Better singing with my eyes closed than to face all eyes starring at me.

'' Bury all your secrets in my skin.... '' Everything around me became nothing & all, when I fell into the words of the music that since i first heard it, i fell in love with. As I kept singing I remembered my relationship with Jason. He was an angel that lied to keep me in control. No one knew that he uses me, abuses me and tries everything to put me down inside four walls. But everyone knew that he was the sweetest, very attention and carying guy outside four walls. Two months after we started dating, we got into a big fight because he was jealous of a guy he didn't met, a guy he knew nothing about, but insisted on spit on me that we had an affair, and probably when i went to visit my cousin in San Fancisco, I was going to meet him. Everytime we got into a fight, Jason always brought the 'Austin argument'. Just because I went to Of Mice and Men's concert and went to the meet and greet - and actually ended up drinking a beer with the guys later - Jason assums that I had something with Austin. Which is true, but only on my thought.

I slowly woke up from my 'dream' when I heard people cheering and clapping way too loud. I opened my eyes and saw everyone inside the bar smiling and all happy. I smiled to myself thinking that probably I wasn't that bad. I placed the mic on the micstand and walked to the table where my best friends were cheering and clapping for me.

'' Fuck Emily! You were great! '' Jake said. '' I never thought that you could sing like that!''

'' Well, neither did I!'' i said smiling satisfied with myself.

'' this need a drink!'' Joe said standing up to order our beers.

'' Why don't we start a band?'' Josh said. '' I play bass, you sing and play piano. Josh can play the guitar, Joe can play drums.'' He said like it was a great idea.

'' I don't know, I'm not that good.''

'' You're kidding right? You had the entire bar cheering for you, and you say you're not that good?'' Jake said.

'' She's too occupied thinking about that talented Austin, that she forgets how talented she is.'' Felicia mocked me.

I was about to reply when I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket. I took it out and when I was standing up to pick up the phone Joe came back with our beers and made me sit again.

'' Where my pretty friend's going?''

'' My boyfriend's calling. I'll be right back.'' and I walked to a quiet place where I could listen to him.

'' Hi Jason.''

'' Where the Fuck are you?''

'' I'm out with my friends. I left you a message saying that I couldn't make you dinner.''

'' Yeah but you should ask me permittion first. I don't know who you're going to fuck out there with every guy drooling over you!''

'' Look Jason, you don't have the right to talk to me like that, and I'm not a whore, you know i'm faithfull to you !''

'' Oh yeah? And what about that time when you fucked your pretty doll face Austin? ''

'' I DIDN'T FUCKED HIM! How many times I have to prove it to you?''

'' I know you did, I could smell it on you!''

'' You know what, I've had enought. I'm going back inside to have fun with MY friends!''

And i hung up. It wasn't the first time he called me that. And it hurt like a bitch hearing that from the one you loved.

I decided to head out to the bathroom first to cool down.
If only Austin could be here to embrace me in a warm hug like he did when I first met him at the meet & greet a few months ago. If only he knew I love him for being who he is, for being an amazing artista, for being the cutie guy i know.
Everytime something bad happens between me and Jason, I somehow start to think about what if Austin was my boyfriend instead of Jason. I know it's wrong, but I can't help myself.
If only he was here now.

I walked back to where my friends where and they were still talking about us, starting a band.

'' So are you in Emily?'' Jake asked. If I said yes, then i'd be commited more than I am with the guys and I'd see my dream finallly come true, but if I said no, they'd be upset with me.

'' Yes.'' They all screamed 'hell yeahs' and we ended up ordering more beers to celebrate the beggining of a great future. Or at least I thought so.

I got home after my shift at Hot Topic. I worked there five days a week on full time. I liked work in there, but sometimes it could be way too stressfull with some awfull costumers, but our favourite costumers were teenagers and the same age as me, so I was fine with it.

'' Hey.'' I greeted my boyfriend who was sitting of the couch watching a soccer game, with a beer on his hand.

'' Hey hun, come sit here for a bit. '' This wasn't normal. This was too strange to be happening. I went to sit next to him and looked at him. He seemed to be different.

'' What's up? '' I asked and he placed his beer on the coffee table and looke at me.

'' I've been thinking and I think we should make the next step on our relationship. '' Ok, this was waay too strange. A month ago we were fighting against me starting a band and he threghten me that if I didn't quit the band he'd leave me, and now this?

'' What do you mean next step? Aren't we good like this? ''

'' No, i-I mean, yes we are. But I feell like this is it. This is the perfect time to have a baby. ''

'' What?!'' He place his hands on mine who were on my lap.

'' Yes. I wanna have a baby with you. ''

'' Jason you're out of your mind! You don't even have a fixed job! And not to mention that your mom hates me. How can you build a family on those conditions?''

'' Baby we're gonna work things out. I'll talk to my mom and she gonna love this idea.''

'' Have you been doing drugs again?''

'' What? No.'' I could see he was lying.

'' You did, I know you did. And this whole baby thing it's not you.'' I got up to go to the kitchen and he grabed my arm and spun me around to face him.

'' We're gonna have a baby because I say so!''

'' Or else what?''

'' Don't test me Emily.!!'' He said under his teeth.

'' We're not going to have a baby! ''

'' Is this because your dear Austin? Wake up Emily, you'll never gonna be with him and he doesn't even care about you!''

'' You know nothing about him ! '' . I grabed my purse and walked out of the house and got into my car. I drove out to were my band rent a little sudio for us to rehease and write some song for our Ep. It was in Long Beach and I had one hour to cool myself down before pouring my rage into a song.

I walked into the studio with tears still falling down my face and went straight to studio 4. I heard some voices behind me but I didn't bother to look back, probably it was the receptionist. When I reach the Studio 4, I quickly got in and closed the door behind me. I went to turn on the mixing table. When all was set up to record, I press the record button, and went to the singing room. When I was placing the headphones on my ears, I saw Mike, our producer getting in. He waved back at me knowing my state of mind and also that I didn't want to talk with anyone. I just wanted to sing and scream.
The song began to play and I started to sing hatefull words.

When I was near the end of the song, I saw someone I never thought it would be here.

Austin and Of Mice & Men.

''What are they doing here?'' I thought.

When I was finished with our new song, I went up to the mixing room, where they were.

'' Guys here's our drama queen, Emily.'' Mike said laughing.

'' haha I'm not a drama queen, just a queen '' I said and they all laughed.

'' Well, we're Of- '' I interrupted Alan.

'' Of Mice & Men. I know who you guys are. Big fan here. ''

'' Well, now that you know us, We'd like to produce your Ep and help your band to grow. I know we don't know each others that well, but Mike here shown us a few songs and we loved them. So we'd like your band to work with us. '' Aaronn said.

'' Really??''
'' Yea, you guys are talented so.'' Tino said.

'' Holy shit!'' I said and jumped up to hug them all.

After the baby news, this was the best news ever. I couldn't wait to tell the guys the news.
I was going to work with Of Mice and Men, be near them everyday... My dream came true.
I couldn't ask for more in my life.
