My Words Cut Deep

-Skyla’s Point of View-

She shifted her weight onto her right foot as a sleepy child was about to be passed over to her. A small whimper came from Eliza as her arms latched around Austin’s neck. Skyla let out a small sigh. “You’re going to have to put her to bed.” A ghost of a smile appearing on the young women’s lips. “I think she doesn't want to let you go.” She watched as his eye’s traveled down to his daughters head. Slowly he turned to Pamela mumbling that he was going to put Eliza to bed. Skyla grabbed the car seat and they headed up stairs.

Once she entered the room Emmy looked up and opened her mouth to say something until Skyla felt Austin behind her. She mouthed ‘I’ll tell you later’ to Emmy and she gave a simple nod. Skyla watched as Emmy made herself comfy on her bed and opened up a magazine to read.

Walking up to her own bed on the far side, she pulled back the covers and steps aside. Austin walked up beside her and bent down laying Eliza down, softly taking her arms away from his neck. Tucking the blanket gently around her he made a slight move to leave and Eliza opened her eyes as best as she could in her tired state. Austin crouched down and whispered things to her about seeing her soon and doing other fun things. The corner of Skyla’s mouth pulled up in a smile. He stayed there until Eliza’s breathing softened and they knew she was asleep.

Kissing her on the forehead he stood up scratching the back of his neck. Skyla looked down at her feet. “Thanks for taking her, I can tell she had lots of fun.” She nodded her head towards the bag of stuff. “No thank you… know I am new to this stuff but I enjoyed it.” He nodded and started to walk away, but turned towards her when he neared the door. “She picked something for you it’s wrapped in paper… she is an amazing little girl.” He opened the door and Skyla whisper yelled that she would text him. Getting a nod she was left standing there staring at the door.

Soon she felt eye’s staring in to her, her focus shifting from the door to her friend peeking over the magazine. “What.” Emmy smiled at her. “He’s so cute with her.” Skyla just nodded and ran a hand through her hair. Quietly she walked over to bag of goodies for Eliza and found at the bottom of the bag something or more like two somethings wrapped in paper. As quietly as she could she pulled the items up, they were heavy and by the sound it was something glass. Unwrapping the first large item a tear formed in her eye. It was Mrs. Potts and when she unwrapped the second item it was Chip. The tear fell down her cheek, turning towards Emmy who was watching.

Emmy smiled. “That is so cute!” Skyla nodded. “Beauty and the Beast is my favourite.” She set the tea cup down and walked over to the bed. Moving the covers on her side she climbed in and cuddled up to Eliza, letting a small sigh out. She heard Emmy moving and then the light clicked out. Kissing the side of her child’s head she closed her eyes.

“MUMMY, MUMMMMMMMMMMY!” Skyla groaned as she felt someone crawling on top of her. Peeking an eye open she could see Eliza smiling face hovering over her. The child was like a cat her hands and knees found the right spot over an organ of some sort. Skyla rolled to her side, causing the problematic child slip and fall to the bed with a squeal. She felt the child roll back into her and grab her face with her tiny hands. Opening her eyes up fully, she looked at her smiling daughter. The same smile that her father had. Not long after the little girl bounced off the bed and ran over to Emmy. “Aunty Em, Aunty Em! I had so big fun, I got to meet princesses and I was a princess and me and daddy took lots of pictures! I wove Awtin!”

Skyla chuckled slightly at the back in forth between Daddy and Awtin as Eliza continued to ramble on. Slowly she stretched out on the bed and turned over to the giggling Eliza and Emmy. For a while she watched as her best friend and daughter talked about everything that was in Disneyland. Slowly the young women reached over to the night table to grab her iphone and sent out a text.

Hey, we should have that chat soon… get everything straightened out I guess.

She sent the message and locked her phone up. Yawning she closed her eyes once again only to feel a pillow thrown at her face. Moving the pillow she looked at the pair on the other bed. Eliza had her hands over her mouth laughing and Emmy had a triumphant smirk. A slow smirk appeared on Skyla’s face and the two froze. “Mummmmmyy I didn’t do it! Aunty Em did!” Emmy looked at Eliza. “Way to sell me out kid!” Skyla jumped up and threw the pillow back at Emmy knocking her over. Jumping to the other bed Skyla tickled the side of the little girl causing her to erupt in laughter.

This was how mornings went back in Canada when Emmy was over. This was how life normally felt and this is where Skyla felt at peace. Skyla moved from tickling Eliza to “tickling” Emmy. With that Emmy started to giggle which caused Eliza to Giggle. Both young women stopped laughing and smiled big looking at each other than Eliza. Eliza gasped and tried to crawl off the bed but they caught her and began to tickle her together.

After they settled down from giggling Emmy took Eliza to the bathroom to get ready for a bath. Skyla looked at her phone seeing a message. She opened it up and let out a small nervous sigh.

From: Austin Carlile
Yeah, a couple days from now, Saturday? I am free then, uh lunch?

To: Austin
From Skyla Patrova
Yeah, uh sure, that place on Fifth Street?

After getting a positive response the date was set for a meeting. Putting the phone down she walked into to the bathroom to bath Eliza. Emmy left as soon as she entered to give her some time.

Notes

Filler I know! So After the lunch date, I shall be doing a time skip and move this baby along. I hope everyone is enjoying this story so far! I am sorry for not updating it as much I usually do., exams are around the corner so it slows me down.

Random time, but I just got the Full Circle CD, next to Billy Talent I have all of Of Mice's CD's. Now I just need to see them live again, I saw them on the American Dream Tour in Toronto and it was the best!

Also I was possibly thinking of writing a PTV story, a friend of mine is in love with Mike. SOOOO it is a possibility.
