What Happens In Vegas

Fans

I stood outside of the hotel, with everyone of Mexican heritage in a five mile radius being mobbed left, right and centre. I'm still completely in the dark as to why on earth Mike is being mobbed. And by teenage girls at that. They're all small, loud and apparently called Rebecca from what I've seen. I tugged on Mike's shirt while he was in a deep, meaningful moment with a Rebecca - probably.

"What?" Mike raised his eyebrows at me.

"What the hell is going on?" I puffed out.

"Just go inside. I'll tell you later." he brushed me off.

"Can I go inside too?" one of the Mexicans that had recently appeared asked hopefully.

"No, Tony. You can't," Mike said to a Mexican who was apparently called Tony. It could have been worse, he could have been Rebecca too. "Casey take whats-her-name inside."

"It's Violet." I puffed out.

"Whatever, take her inside."

"Come on, Vi." A man, not Mexican I should add, said. Shocking I know. He took me inside the hotel and sat me down in the lobby. "So, Mike, huh?"

"Don't." I grimaced.

"I would have thought he would have made me best man. Or at least usher."

"What's with all that outside?"

"Fans." Casey shrugged nonchalantly.

"What kind of fans?" I frowned.

"Ceiling fans," he rolled his eyes. "Kids!" I'm guessing he means the teenagers storming the hotel and not a load of goats.

"Why are they hugging Mike?"

"Wow, are you still drunk?" Casey laughed. "They like the band."

"What band?" I frowned.

"I really need to have words with that jerk."

"Mike is in a band?"

"Yes, Violet. That's why we're here. What about you?"

"What about me?" I echoed.

"Why did you get shit faced in Vegas and marry someone you obviously know nothing about?"

"Oh," I wish I knew. "It probably seemed like a really good idea at the time."

"Everything does." he nodded.

"I'm on vacation though."

"On your own?" he raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah. I like alone time." I explained.

"Then Mike found you."

"Made me his prey. He's like a big, long, gangly spider."

"Ehh right." Casey scratched the back of his neck. "Is that where you were this morning?"

"We were trying to get a divorce. But I'm still married to that . . . That spider."

"He's really not that bad."

"Then tell him to stop calling me sweetheart."

"He thinks it's a term of endearment."

"Well it's not. I just want to get back to Philly and pretend this never even happened."

"I don't know if you can do that."

"I'm getting married soon."

"No that was last night." he grinned.

"No, I have a fiancée. His name is Andrew."

"Oh," Casey winced. "Will you tell him?"

"Probably not." I reasoned. "I definitely won't tell my sister or brother or Dad. No way am I telling my Gran."

"Why?"

"She'd probably have a heart attack and would die."

"Probably not a good idea."

"No, I don't have a funeral dress that looks flattering on me."

"I was going to go with your Gran would be a corpse."

"She's been called worse," I shrugged. "Anyway, I'm not on her will. Maybe a heart attack would knock some sense into her."

"Aren't you a cheery soul." Casey mocked.

"I'm a treasure." I laughed. Casey looked at me and laughed. It was one big laughathon.

"What did you do to her?" Mike asked. Look who decided to join us.

"I talked to her." Casey shrugged.

"But she's laughing like a normal person."

"I am a normal person," I rolled my eyes. "I'm Violet, nice to meet you." I looked around. There were three Mexican men watching me. Not including my Mexican man. I stood up and shook their hand before kissing them briefly on the cheek.

"You're nice, polite, pretty. Why did you marry my brother?" one of them asked.

"Funny, Vic." Mike mocked. I think this one is Vic.

"I've been asking myself the same question ever since I said I do." I sighed.

"I'm Vic. Meet Tony and Jaime."

"Come on, we're getting your details and then you can go."

"Looks like I married the wrong brother." I muttered.

"Looks like I picked the wrong posh girl." Mike said over his shoulder as he walked away.

"I am not posh!" I growled and trekked after him.

"Of course not." Mike mocked and took my hand.

"Why are you holding my hand?" I asked.

"Isn't that what married people do?"

"I don't know. I've never been married."

"What? You wasn't carted off in an arranged marriage when you were eighteen."

"No." I glared. "This isn't 1880."

"You're right. You would have been disowned for showing your ankles if it were." he said and laughed at his own joke.

"You have a weird sense of humour." I noted.

"Thank you." Mike smiled brightly.

He dragged me along corridors until he took me back to the room. You know, that one. The room I spent my first night as a married woman. He sat me down and handed me a sheet of paper and a pen to put my details down.

"Will you tell anyone?" I asked after a while.

"Me? No. Probably not. My mom wouldn't want me to make a rash decision. She believes in destiny and all that shit. She'd want to meet you."

"She sounds nice. How did she raise you?" I asked, completely baffled.

"I'm sure she asks herself the same question every time she sees me."

"Okay, are we done?" I asked.

"We're done." He confirmed.

"So, Sweetheart."

"Yes?" I raised my eyebrows.

"I'll see you in court." Mike grinned and I bid him goodbye.

Notes

Hey! Sorry it's been a while. I've been so busy with work and Keep Kind. But what did you think? What will happen? Do you like Vi? Will they really just see one another in court? Favourite line? Hope you're all having a day filled with love, light and kindness! xoxo

Thanks! More tonight maybe, definitely this week.

@Mike's_Secretary_
Ahh that's okay. I'm using what I said as a reason to move to America in a few years. I love me some Mexican food.

@PiercetheKatt
Thank you! Mike doesn't have a lot of tact. You're so sweet!

@LiveItUp
Thank you! I'm always paranoid. I just want things to be funny after my previous stories. Mike is super loveable. Violet being kind of a princess is so much fun to write!
