The Throw-Aways

Say A Prayer, But Let the Good Times Roll

Jack’s POV

I had just texted R-Girl on her relationship status. The girl had refused to give me many details, so Alex had to text Austin. It was obvious something had happened between the two of them. We sat on the bed of our hotel room, relaxing against the cool pillows.

“Any word from Austin?” I asked my best friend. He stared hard at his phone and shook his head. Nope, nothing. As we quietly waited, Alex Gaskarth turned to me.

“Um, why are we trying to set the two up again?” He asked quietly. I shook my head and pulled the blanket up around my freezing shoulder. The device in my hand remained silent. Alex’s phone buzzed and he anxiously looked at the message. Austin was a little more forthcoming with the information on what had happened.

“Because if no one steps in, Austin is going to lose her someway. He’s too kind and shy to make a move. We have to get him to do something!” I responded. Alex had asked this question time and time again. This was always my answer.

“So the love doctors are at it again.” He muttered. I smiled and set my phone in the charger. Grinning, I looked over my friend’s shoulder to his phone.

“Austin said that he had a moment with R and Alan blew it. That was a day ago and they haven’t really hung out one on one since then.” Alex summarized. I nodded and thought. The lamp light fluttered on and off briefly as I bumped the switch. Shutting it off, the room was plunged into a dim light.

“So what do I say?” Alex asked in the darkness. His phone screen glowed ominously, illuminating few features on his face.

“Tell him he needs alone time with R-Girl, just to hang out. Like, watch a movie or something kind of quiet.” I responded. Alex’s fingers furiously hit each button on the touch screen.

“Anything else?”

“Hmm….Tell him that to make the move, he has to find time where there is no one else on the bus.” I added. The message was sent and a reply would be on the way shortly. A hum filled the empty air as the phone vibrated. Alex opened it up to read the short message.

Austin: Will do. Tomorrow, the boys are going to go find another place to hang out at night. I’ll stay with R. Thanks for the help.

Alex gave a quick response and shut off the phone. I smiled a little. I figured that this would be a little victory for all of us tonight.

Notes

SO JACK AND ALEX ARE BEHIND ALL OF THIS RAVELYN STUFF!!!!! Do we forget who started this?
