The Throw-Aways

I'll Keep My Pride, I've Let You Win Too Many Times

We had finished our signings at the tent when we went back to the lot to meet the VIP holders. I was surprised to find that I knew each of them. It was just the seven people-my four friends and Jay with her father. Our band went towards our bus to meet the pass holders.

“Raven!” Kylar, Nico, Skars, and Dante screamed at once. I didn’t even turn the corner of the bus before they attacked me. The security guards were helpless and I waved them away as they tried to approach our happy reunion. The other band members went to mingle with everyone.

“Oh, we met you at Gold Ridge!” Austin recognized Jay immediately and she squealed. He passed me a wary glance. I tried to silently scream for him to run away and throw holy water at her, but I don’t think he got the message.

“Austin, your voice is sooooo amazing! I can’t believe I get to meet you!” She screamed. Aaron came up next to me, leaning into my ear.

“Does she even know my name?” He grumbled. I laughed softly.

“I doubt she even knows Austin’s last name.” I responded. He grinned and went back to find Alan. But the princess wasn’t where he last was. As I turned to try and find Kylar, I saw her talking with Alan a ways away. My dad came up and tapped me on the shoulder.

“DAD!” I yelped and was engulfed in a hug. He pulled me back and kissed my forehead, eyes lit up with pride.

“You did wonderful up there! You never told me you kept practicing after we got rid of the piano.” He mock scolded. Pretending to pout, I tapped my toe nervously.

“Sorry, daddy!” I couldn’t hold a serious pose for long. We all laughed aloud and grinned. The entire time, I tried to avoid my gaze landing on Jay.

“Oh, Raven!” She falsely cried out in glee. Her fake nails clawed into my back as she wrapped her arms around me in a hug. I winced from the pain.

“Hello, Jay.” I tried to be as nice as possible. This isn’t some high school and I wasn’t just a teen anymore. I was a professional musician and I had a public image to keep up. It wouldn’t do me any good to ruin it by punching her in the face. Kylar stepped up to my side, Alan following her.

“Everyone did great out there! Wasn’t that an awesome set?” She winked to Skars, who picked up on her ploy. My dad came over to inspect the scene. Austin stood quietly at my side.

I held his eyes and I knew that he knew. It was obvious that he was aware about the true nature of Jay. How he had figured that out, I didn’t know.

“So, how do you like the band now that Raven’s in it?” Aaron asked. He cautiously eyed Jay and her face caked with two tons of makeup. I winced from the gleam of her dagger like fangs.

“Oh, it sounds great!” Her voice was full of falsities. Dante scrunched up his nose at the sound. Jay’s father was leaning against the bus, talking to Mark.

“If it sounds so great, why have you been bashing her over twitter?” Tino stepped forward. I was a little taken back. Tino was always so quiet. Why was he stepping up to the plate now? His voice was deadly calm and I shied back at the simple statement. He held his phone in his hand.

“What are you talking about?” Jay asked innocently. Mark and Jay’s dad looked over at the commotion.

Beside me stood a wall of support. My dad looked confused, my friends knew what was going on and glared like laser like vision. Austin also looked a little panicked, but the rest of the band had a dark shade over their eyes. Alan tilted his head in recognition.

“I did a little research on the profiles of the people who has been hating on Raven for the past month. The number one responder was ‘everyone loves Jay’. She’s from Gold Ridge, just graduated and was excited to be at Warped….” Tino tilted his head and just stared at her. It was obvious that her cover was blown.

“Jillian, what have you been doing?” Her father asked with a tone of concern. My arch nemesis looked scared at the thought of everyone ganging up on her.

“Wait, Evry1LuvsJay was you?” Austin asked her, his arms folded. Alan turned to him.

“So that’s who kept commenting on my tweets!” Alan rumbled unhappily. Jay held up her hands, like she was about to be mobbed. Phil and Aaron looked like they were about to explode. The band was furious, Skars was about to throttle her, Dante and Nico looked like they wanted to beat her to a pulp, and Kylar looked like she could take a chainsaw to that pretty face of hers.

My dad just looked dumbfounded.

“Jillian Merida Brentson, what have you been saying to Raven?” He growled. Mark Drews was steamed. His face was bright red and angry. All karma was being tossed on Jay at once.

“Daddy, no, it wasn’t me!” She begged. Tino passed Mr. Brentson the phone. From the pictures, the tweets, the responses, it was obviously her.

“No fan of ours will bully others. Especially not our newest family member.” Phil stood beside Tino, taking a step forward and looming over the girl. It looked like her ‘wonderful time at Warped’ would be cut short this afternoon.

“Don’t you dare say you’re a fan.” Austin growled low and deep, his normally soft chocolate eyes turning to a landslide of rage. Jay looked like she was about to break. Her eyes were trained on me. If looks could kill, well, even heaven wouldn’t be able to save me.

“I think it’s time for you to leave.” Our manager forced out every word.

“So you’ve been bullying my daughter all this time?” My dad put a hand on my shoulder. Everyone was trained on her. Mr. Brentson took his daughter’s wrist and started to drag her away.

“Get out of here, Jay.” Skars spat, red hair shining in the light. Jay turned and stormed off.

I hoped that was the last I’d ever see of her.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” My dad asked me. I looked at him with sad eyes.

“I didn’t want to put any more stress on you.” I whispered automatically. He hugged me before going over to talk to Mark. Both started to cool down as they conversed. As I talked to my friends, the mood seemed to lighten.

Jay was gone. She had been kicked out and I had prevailed after all her bullying. Sure, she might not have been out of my life forever, but I sure enough was positive that Jay wouldn’t be seen for quite some time.

“I think this calls for a round of Extreme Monopoly!” Alan cheered. I rolled my eyes, Austin laughed, and Kylar crossed her arms, demanding to know what the game was about.

Oh man, this would be a crazy afternoon.

Notes

YES YES YES!!! If you're happy that Jay's gone and you know it clap your hands!
*thunderous roar of applause*
Oh good, I'm glad we all hated her!

Anyways, this is surprise part one of two for I_Ship_KalanXD because she's been yelling at me to slit Jay's throat or throw her out a window or something, so I decided to throw her out of the concert! I'm sure this is all just as much as a relief to you that now Jay's gone!

But will she be back?!?!? O.O We'll have to find out!

In the mean time, I think this story is going pretty great, don't you think? LET'S ADD SOMETHING LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!! I'm sure that's all what you wanted to hear and I can almost imagine a crowd of sighs.....anyways, we're going to get into some deep stuff very shortly, so STAY TUNED!!!

Love you all and stay beautiful :D
