Celebrate The Way That Night Hides Scars

Chapter 74

*Andy’s POV*

Alysha, Danielle Jessica, Ashley, Erin, and I were all waiting at the house for everyone to arrive. I was ready to see my father and twin. As far as Tay went, I had been told she would be staying at Danielle and Mitch's place. I wasn’t too sure of the details but Ben told me he would fill me in. So I sat with my hand on Ash’s belly and felt our son kick. I kissed her forehead and she smiled at me.

“Oh I am so ready for this baby to come,” Erin fanned herself from the recliner.
“Me too,” Ashley giggled as I rubbed her belly.
“Then it’s no sleep and lots of diapers,” Alysha joked.
“That’s what Andy is for,” Ash said, smiling evilly at me. That caused Erin to laugh.
“We have a picture somewhere from when he tried to change Tay’s diaper. It was on her head!” Erin told the group, all of the women laughing at me. I felt my ears turn red.
“Not my fault,” I tried to defend myself but failing.
“Well they are having a boy, if he does that he will get peed on,” Jessica jumped in.

We all sat around joking and trying to lighten the mood. We all knew Jessica was going through a hard time and Jaime wouldn’t be much better. We talked about baby stuff and how the nurseries were almost done. Ashley excused herself to the bathroom and we continued talking until I heard a yell coming from the bathroom. I was the first one out of my chair and to the door. I threw it open and found Ash gripping onto the counter, her face had drained of all color.

“Ash! What’s wrong?” I asked, wrapping my arms around her and helping her sit on the floor.
“Pain.. Stomach.. AGH!” She yelled, grabbing her stomach.
“Let’s get her to the car,” Alysha said, standing next to me and helping me get Ash back up after the pain subdued.

Between Alysha and I, we managed to get Ash out to the car before her next contraction started. She laid on the back gripping onto the door handle with white knuckles.

“You guys stay here and wait for everyone. Send Mike as soon as he gets here please,” Alysha instructed as we jumped into the car and took off.

We made it to the hospital in record time and I jumped out of the car as we reached the emergency exit. I sprinted in and told them my pregnant girlfriend was in labor. A team of nurses ran out with a wheelchair and got her out of the car. They wheeled her in and asked her questions until she cried out again, doubling over in pain.

The wheeled her into a room and checked her vitals and hooked her up to a few machines. After her next contraction finished her doctor came in.

“So I have some good news, what you just felt were Braxton Hicks contractions. You are not going into labor, which is good since the baby isn’t quite fully grown yet. We can give you something for the pain and the contractions will stop shortly. This is just a way for your body to prepare for what is to come,” the doctor explained. Ash was about to say something when Mike busted into the room, out of breath and panicked.
“I didn't miss anything? Is my baby alright?” he gasped, running to her side. She gave him a small pained smile.
“I’m fine daddy. The doctor said it was a false alarm. Everything is okay,” she rested her hand on her stomach and I grabbed her free hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Oh thank God! I was so worried something was wrong,” Mike said, relief written all over his face. Alysha walked over to him and gave him a quick kiss.
“Okay so I will get the medicine and send you guys on your way,” the doctor said, taking his leave.
“Hi honey, glad you’re back,” Alysha gave Mike a smile and smiled back.
“Glad I could be back with my two favorite girls and Andy,” Mike said turning to me, “Thanks for taking care of them,” he gave me a wink and I nodded.

We sat around as Ashley had another fake contraction and the doctor came in with the meds. He gave us a few exercises to do to help and then discharged her. Mike took Ash home to get some rest and Alysha took me back to my house. I told Ashley I would be back before nightfall but I needed to see my brother and dad. She told me she understood and we parted ways.

When I made it home, everyone had cleared out and headed to their house. I thanked Alysha for the ride and headed into the house. I was eager to hear about what had happened and to share the note with my brother so I could get it off of my chest.

*Cameron’s POV*

Crazy bin, loony ward, that’s what this place was. I didn’t belong here. I belonged in a coffin but Andy had seen to it that I ended up here instead. I knew that there was a slim chance I would make it but yet somehow the odds were not in my favor.

So here I sat in a white jumpsuit in a white room surrounded by, you guessed it, white. This place was enough to blind a person, or make a sane person go crazy. I sat on my bed and looked out my barred window. I had a room to myself and for that I was thankful. I could hear people yelling and shouted and a few even banning their heads against the walls. It was hard enough to sleep with those noises outside my door, much less in my room.

I had been here for three days now and I had refused to eat or even participate in group sessions. They had set me in front of a counselor for an hour and I didn’t open my mouth once. I refused to take my medicine, which resulted in me being held down and force fed the pills. I took them against my will and then punched a male nurse, earning me a day in isolation.

I was honestly doing everything in my power to be as difficult as possible. I didn’t want to be here much less be alive. I couldn’t believe that Andy had read my note and still let me live. I had made it clear that I didn’t want to be alive.
Yet here I sat, an orderly knocking on my door and telling me it was time for group. I continued to sit on my bed and ignore him. A nurse came in and tried to talk to me but eventually gave up. Then the counselor came in and tried to talk to me again but I ignored him until he went away too. Then supper time came and went and I still refused to participate.

They knew they were going to have to do something soon and I could hear them outside my door going over the options. I just sat here staring at the disappearing sun.

Notes

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long, things are kind of crazy right now. I have finals coming up and a lot of stuff has kind of just gotten in the way. Also writers block is a bitch. I have so many stories I need to update but my mind only wants to work on one of them at random and it sucks.

So this chapter is kind of short and a filler because Rose has some plans. What they are only she knows, I am excited to find out though.

So let us know what you think! Thanks for reading!!
