Epilogue: Raelyn and Austin

Twelve years in the future....

"AUS! You forgot your pocket Squidgy...again!" I complained to Aus. He was rushing around, trying to make sure he had everything before he went on stage. I handed him the old pocket Squidgy that I wrote to him in my very first letter. He took it from me and gently put it in his pocket. Austin stopped me before I could turn around, putting a finger under my chin and tilting my head up to meet his lips.

"I love you and thank you for reminding me of him!" He smiled with his usual charm. I never failed to melt under his spell. The day was hot outside in Denver. It was Warped Tour 2026, and everything was in full swing. Later today, we were going off to Bring Me the Horizon's bus party. I knew Oli personally, now that he was no longer a grocery store clerk.

If our manager allowed it.

"I love you to, babe. Good luck out there." I told him. Austin was already catching up with the band. The gold band on his finger glittered in the bright sun. My matching gold band sparkled brightly as well. I followed our manager into the side stage, watching Austin, Alan, Tino, Phil, and Aaron rock out in front of the crowds. From the day I met him, he never lost that spark of energy that caught fire and started an inferno on stage.

His first song was an older one from the Restoring Force album. I may not have be as young as I was, but I still hand the energy to bob my head along to the beat. By the time they reached the final song, Austin glanced at me from the center of the stage.

"This last song, it's an older one that you might recognize, it's called Another You. We'd like to dedicate this one to my beautiful wife. She came to her first Warped with me, and she's not done with our craziness yet. Raelyn, I nearly lost you once, and I just want you to know that I'll never find another you." He smiled at me and the crowd lost their minds'.

"GRAHH AMRA!!" The crowd screeched. With the twelve years I had gone to Warped with Austin, I had become fluent in Mosh speak.

Translations: AWWW!

The crowd cheered my name and I blushed. This had only happened when, five years ago, Austin pulled me out onto the stage.

At that Denver Warped stage, he proposed to me.

Our manager shoved me forward. I bumped her playfully back, like when we were kids before going out. Austin took my hand and kissed me in front of the audience before letting me back to the side. Alan shoot a goofy ginger grin to the manager before going back to the start of the piece.

After they finished, I helped Austin pack up and we went off to the buses. After we finished and Aus cleaned up, we started to head out to the meet and greet tent. Our manager was talking to the others, but we managed to hang back for a moment, right next to the side of the bus.

"Did you like the song?" He asked me. I blushed as red as a fire truck and nodded. The wedding band on my finger seemed to feel warmer. Austin held my hand, staring me in the eyes. His soft brown eyes always managed to read me like an open book. I could feel at any moment he was going to lean down and kiss me, but he hesitated.

"What is it?" I asked him. His eyes took on a veil of sadness.

"I remember the day I almost lost you. That was supposed to be my bullet." He reminisced the old memoreis. I shooed them away.

"I'm here now, babe. It's all over now." I told him softly. From the distance, Oli whistled to us, his arm wrapped around Sara as he kissed her forehead.

Looks like we had both made it to Warped.

Austin continued to looked down at me, silence filling the gap between us. Something white and delicious dropped on my head. Two more fell on Austin's and another one beaned me in the forehead.

"Popcorn?" He said curiously. We both searched around, wondering where it came from. No one was on top of the bus, around it, or near it. Seriously, who was throwing it?!

While I looked up at the puffy white clouds of the sky, curious if anyone was up top, Austin leaned down and pressed his lips against mine. We both moved together, filled with love only for each other.

"They're going to miss you at the tent." I whispered between kisses. He grinned.

"Let's go, darling." He took my hand and together, we walked off to the tent. I was the luckiest girl in the world, being able to follow my dream of being an engineer, living in California with my amazing husband, and being able to tour with him. The rough road I'd been on straightened out and I saw clear ahead with Austin by my side.

But I still don't know where that popcorn came from.

Notes

I hope you guys liked Austin and Rae's ending!
(Up next is Alan and LP's ending!)
