Run from your problems, but you cannot run from yourself.

"Welcome home!" Austin crowed happily as he swung the door inside the large house. The exterior was beautiful and I was still astonished at the inside. At that moment, I felt like my mother for analyzing decorations. I was carrying in some of my bags from the car, as Alan helped with the second bag.

After we had arrived in California in the lot where the bus was parked, Alan, Austin, and I all hopped into his silver car and drove off to his house. It was only about a twenty minutes ride. When we got out, Austin took my hand and helped me into the house.

I entered and was greeted by yipping barks and a large head that poked around the corner. It was a beautiful white and light brown pit bull that barked excitedly. Austin's face paled as I froze in the door.

"I'm so sorry, this is-" he got cut off as the pit bull barreled towards me full tilt. I could feel Alan and Austin stare at me as I let the dog come up to me. She woofed happily as I scratched the right spot just behind her creme brown ear.

"I didn't know you liked pit bulls." Austin said. I smiled and nodded. She was a sweet puppy that came up and licked my cheek. Her tongue lolled from the heat of the afternoon.

"Aww she's adorable!" I cooed to her. As soon as I was done, I picked up the bag I set down and Austin showed me to my room. His pit bull accompanied us up the stairs. At the second floor, the hall way split and Austin led me to the right.

"Echo, sit." Austin commanded. The obedient dog obeyed as we entered into the guest room. It was a light green and a large queen sized bed. Alan had trailed out procession and set the bag in the room, then walked back downstairs, humming some tune.

"Banana phone!" I heard his comment trail from downstairs. I don't know if it was meant for us, but I smirked. Echo's footsteps padded downstairs where she woofed to Alan and his special phone.

"Do you like it?" Austin asked. I threw my arms around him in a hug, whispering in his ear, "I love it!" He squeezed me and I finally let go of him.

"Welcome to California." He grinned. I looked out the window to the sparsely populated neighborhood. The lush greenery was different then then sometimes or always dead patches of grass in my own home state.

"It's wonderful." I awed. He wrapped his lanky arms around my waist, spinning me around to face him. With one motion he leaned down and kissed me hungrily on the lips with his hands pressing into my back, pushing me closer to him. I reached up to his tall height and wrapped my arms around his neck. I could feel him smile against my lips. The room felt thirty degrees hotter at that moment and I could focus on was Austin.

"PDA!!" Alan called from the doorway, which we had foolishly left open. Austin rolled his eyes and kicked it close. Alan whimpered with Echo, then started screaming, "BABY DON'T SHUT ME OOOOUUUUT!"

"Ignore him." He whispered to me. I gladly attempted to block out the off key singing as Aus pulled me in for another kiss. The world melted away and all I was left with Austin, his warm lips moving against mine, and the feeling of his hands pressed against my lower back.

"I love you Rae." He whispered to me. He could've said this to me a thousand times, but it still felt like a dream. My hero wanted me.

I had all I needed.
