The Letter

~Ashley's pov~


God I was scared for my life. I had walked out of the bathroom about 30 minutes after Oli left. I told him I’d call a cab, and I did, it was outside of the diner. He would be at my aunts and I have nowhere else to go in New York, but I call Austin.


“Are you guys in New York yet?” I asked sitting in the cab. “Yeah, what’s up Ashley? Are you okay?” “Are you at my aunt’s house or are you at a hotel?” “We’re at your place.” They said and I told the cab driver to take me to my house.


Once we got there I could see the two tour busses, Austin was standing outside with Alan, but when he saw me he shooed Alan. “Ashley. Are you okay?!” He asks, seeing me. I nod my head, but he pulls me far away from the house into one of the guest houses. “Ashley Manson. What the hell happened?” He asked. I shook my head.


“Was it Oli? Did he hurt you? He came home exactly like you are now.” I shook my head again. I wasn’t going to say anything. “Ashley. Tell me. Now.” “Maybe…” I said something. Oops. “What happened?” He asked and I gulped.


“He was… yanno… so we did it in the movie theaters, and then when we got to the restaurant he made me…” I fell into Austin and cried, I cried and cried. After about 15 minutes he took me to the house and helped me up to my room, but he saw Oli was in there, so he took me into the room his band was in and sat me with Alan.


~Austin’s pov~


I walked back into her room where I saw Oli laying on her bed watching TV. “You bastard!” I shout and slam a fist to his face. “She tell you?” He hissed and stood up. I punched him again. And again, he was on the ground, I was kicking him and I didn’t stop until I heard Ashley scream. I turned to her and started walking to her but she darted off.


Her aunt had called through the intercom, asking if she was fine. I told her she just saw a spider. I ran outside and got in one of the gold carts and drove, I tried to find her, I was looking everywhere, but I couldn’t find her. I checked every guest house. There she was.


“Ashley?” I ask walking into the room. “She doesn’t want to see you.” A woman hissed. I could hear Ashley sobbing. “It’s Austin.” “You can come in.” The lady spoke. I walked into a bedroom to see Ashley in the arms of some woman. “I’m Dawn, I met her through an abuse group, and this is my daughter, Lizzy.” She spoke and I shook her hand.


“Ashley, I wanted to talk to you on a happier note for you… but this is really important.” Dawn spoke and Ashley wiped her face and sat up like she had never shed a tear. “Lizzy honey, go play in your room,” The daughter left, “Ashley, I’ve got to go away for a bit… probably 10 years or so… and I hate to ask, but do you think that you could keep Lizzy? I’ll transfer legal guardianship over to you.”


I saw the shock on Ashley’s face, I probably had the same look. “Uh… Dawn, I don’t know… I’d have to think about it.” Ashley said. “Oh please Ashley. No one in my family would be as good of a mother as you. You care about people Ashley.” I saw the sadness return to Ashley’s eyes, “She’s 12 now right?” Ashley asked and the mother nodded.


“Alright. I’ll take Lizzy, after all she’s adorable.” Ashley smiled. I hope she doesn’t plan on staying with Oli now that she’s got a kid…
