Ghost In The Mirror

I just bought a couch and a bed. My apartment has a couch and a bed. Holy crap. All I need now is a table and my tiny little apartment will be furnished to my liking. I don't even think I can begin to explain how excited I am.

I was having my own little mini party of sorts. I was alone but still, nothing can ruin this good mood. My phone was sitting on the counter in my kitchen blasting HIM, the album Razorblade Romance on full effect. I danced around my apartment, headbanging, singing, doing anything I could to get rid of this pent up excitement I had.

Today was the only off day I had from the donut shop for the next two weeks so I was going to take pride in it. I was going to both relax and have a one woman party because why not?

"Sweetest is the taste from your lips..." I sang, quite horridly might I add. My phone stopped playing my music soon after and it left an annoying ringing sound in its place.

"Hello Josh-o!" I cheered to my friend, giggling as soon as I said it.


"Hey!" He laughed. "What are you so hyped up about?"

"Nothing really. Just a good day to be happy."

"What are you doing right now?" He asks.

"Having a one woman party!" I stated, earning a laugh from my friend.

"So I guess your to busy to hang out?" He questions nervously.

"I guess I could squeeze you into my party schedule." I shrugged. "You can come over and party with me if you want!"

"I would love to! Text me your address and Ill be there soon." He gushed, making a smile grow on my face.

"Ok. Ill see you soon." I said and hung up the phone. I texted him my address soon after.

Music started flowing out of my phone again as I just laid on my couch and tried to calm down before Josh came over. Im a pretty clean person so I don't have to tidy anything up.

If anything though, I was getting more and more excited. Recently, I've been developing a crush on him. Since he walked me to work two weeks ago he's all I think about.

He's so compassionate. He's really funny. He can turn anyone's worst day to the best day of their life. He's really caring. He's has the best smile in the world. He's just.. Josh. That's the best way to explain it.

I got up from my spot on the couch, turning the music off on my phone in the process, when I heard someone knocking on my door. I opened it to find Josh and a smile broke out on my face as well as his.

"Hey." I greeted, moving to the side to let him in.

"Hey." He replied. "I would've never guessed you lived here." He chuckled.

"Why is that?" I ask, walking towards the couch to sit down, Josh following close behind.

"I don't know." He shrugged, laughing a bit. He came and sat by me on the couch and put his arm around me. "So what are we going to do?"

"Well, you crashed my party so I guess it's up to you."

"We should just chill." He suggested, earning a nod from me.

"I like that idea."

We talked for hours on end about everything we could possibly think to start a topic out of. We talked about music, talents, movies, TV shows, food, drinks, and anything else.

Josh has such a random personality that we never had a dull moment and I couldn't have been happier.

I looked down at my phone and saw it was almost ten at night. I sighed. Josh told me his parents wanted him at home by ten thirty.

"What's wrong?" He asked, noticing my change of attitude.

"You have to go home soon." I pouted.

"Shit. I guess I do." He sighed. "I don't wanna go home."

"You can stay the night if you want." I offered.

"Your parents wouldn't mind?" He asks.

I felt a pang of sadness at the mention of my parents. "No. They're out on business." I said emotionless.

"Oh. Ok. Ill call my mom and let her know." He says calmly and leaves the room. I almost started crying as soon as he left the room but I held it in. They wouldn't want me crying.
