Ghost In The Mirror

School has been something that I was actually excited to go to since I moved to Scranton. Today, well, I would rather go assasinate the president and be sentenced to death by the electric chair.

Laat Friday Ryan crushed my confidence in being a friend and trying to help someone. Apparently my best is never enough. Today, Im going to face Ariel and how dissapointed in me she's going to be because of Ryan finding out about her dad, which is just as much of a mystery to me as it is to her. I have to face Ryan and the hate that he has for me.

I thought about just staying home today. Josh wasn't having that. He said I wasn't a coward and I needed to be strong. He says I am strong so I can't let him down and show my weakness in a time like this.

I walked into the double doors of the school and started walking towards the group of people I call my friends. Im sure they all hate me like Ryan. It wouldn't surprise me.

Josh texted me this morning and told me that he would be by my locker this morning along with everyone else so that was the only reason I dared to show my face over there. It was for Josh.

I found the huddle of girls and boys, all wearing black skinnies and band mearch, most with black hair and a lot of eye liner. Opal, Mary, and Ariel are the only ones with a color in it. Then there's boring old me with my plain brown hair and racoon hoodie and denim. Yep, I stand out. Ryan had brown hair but he's a guy and it touches his shoulders so it still looks cooler than mine.

I grabbed Josh's hand when I reached it and immediately hid half my body behind his when I saw Ryan's cold stare and death grip on Ariel. She was even looking down on me. That fact alone made my eyes sting with tears.

"Hey Tarra." Josh murmered and kissed my head. "You, me, and Ryan need to have a little talk."

"O-ok." I nodded.

"Ryan." Josh's voice broke Ryan's hard gaze on me and made him glance up at his old friend. "We need to talk. Now." Jish demands.

Ryan nods and follows Josh and I. Josh lead us outside behind the school. I felt Ryan's eyes burning holes in the back of my head. Im sure if his eyes turned into lasers when he was mad then I would've died a few minutes ago.

"What did you drag me out here for?" Ryan snapped, causing me to jump a bit from the sudden outburts.

"You know what you said to Tarra was fucked up. You know she did all she could for Ariel and more. You need to fix this." Josh growled.

"She could've called someone!" Ryan ranted.

"No I couldn't Ryan." I whimpered. "I can't call someone. I wont do that to her either. You think me calling some one wil do some good? That it'll put him away? No. It wont. It'll take her. Not just her, it'll take me to. I can't call them because they will take us away." I admitted.

"What are you talking about?" Ryan asks.

"Foster care. They will take Tarra and Ariel." Josh explained.

"Tarra's parents don't beat her! Why would they take her?" Ryan ranted.

"They don't beat me because they're dead Ryan! My parents are fucking dead. We were in a car wreck and they died on impact! I ran away as soon as I got out of the hospital!" I cried. Josh pulled me into a hug, rubbing circles in my back.

"Tarra, Im so sorry. I had no idea." Ryan sympathized.

"Screw you Ryan! I don't want your fucking apologies! You were my friend and practically said I was shit. Now that you know my past doesn't mean I want your empathy. I told you to prove I did all I could."

"Tarra Im sorry for what I said."

"If you want my forgiveness you have to earn it. Until then, I don't want anything to do with you." I spat then walked away, wiping angry tears from my eyes.

Screw Ryan.

Wow, this chapter is a bit short. It was kinda important though. I don't really know how I fedl about it. Im probably gonna rewrite it.
