Glass Hearts

You Make Me Sick

"You're going down!" I yelled at Zoe as we started playing Chicken.

"Don't be an idgit." She laughed and winked at me. Austin moved over to Alan and Zoe to start the game. Zoe's arms collided with mine as I grabbed onto her wrists.

"Come on babe, take her down!" Alan shouted as Zoe's arms slipped from mine. On Austin's shoulders, I was almost a foot taller than her, so I had the advantage. As I went to grab onto her shoulders, a loud crashing noise came from inside the house. I glanced around and everybody was outside.

"Austin, what the fuck was that noise?" My arms fell to my sides as I looked towards the house. Everybody fell silent as shouting came from inside.

"Where the fuck are you bitch?!" I instantly knew that voice. Austin slipped me off his shoulders into his arms.

"H-He's here." My voice was quiet and my body started to shake. He cupped my face in his hands and stared into my eyes.

"Faith, listen to me. I want you to grab your phone and call the police." His voice was calm but he couldn't hide the anger that laced his words. "I want you and the girls to run to the gaming room, which is right inside the door, and lock it. Okay?" Despite the tears running down my face, I nodded. Rue pulled me out of the pool and we took off running. Leanna had my phone and was motioning us into the house. I gripped onto Rue's hand as we ran into the house, sliding across the tile floor from our wet feet.

I could hear footsteps stomping down the stairs, coming closer to us.

"There she is!" A deep voice, I've never heard before, shouted. My heart was racing as I turned the corner into the room. Katie slammed the door shut and locked it. Zoe pushed a chair up against it, giving us more protection.

"Faith, what is going on?" I slid down the wall, in the corner of the room, as sobs racked through my body. Leanna sat down beside me and wrapped her arms around me. "Faith, you need to calm down and tell us what is going on." She rubbed my back, trying to soothe me but it didn't help.

"Cr-crazy ex boy-boyfriend, wants t-to kill m-me." I stuttered out in a hush voice. All the girls stared at me like I was the crazy one.

"How did he even get in here? You have to have a pass code to get past the gates." Rue paced back and forth across the room, racking her brain for answers.

"He-" Before Zoe could talk, someone started banging on the door, trying to get in. Leanna pulled me closer as I screamed.

"You fucking bitch! Get your ass out here or I'm going to kill every single person in this house!" Ian yelled through the door, his rage building. "The first to go will be your little boy toy!"

"He wants me. I can't let him kill everybody." My voice was small and weak but I knew what I had to do. I wiggled out of Leanna's arms and stood up.

"Faith, don't." Katie pulled on my arm but I just shrugged her off. They all had tears in their eyes as I pushed the chair out of the way and unlocked the door. I opened the door, to face Ian.

"Here. Take me. Just don't hurt any of them." An evil smirk made its way across his lips as he grabbed my arm and started to drag me through the house.

"Get your fucking hands off of her!" Austin yelled out from the living room, where him and the guys were tied down to chairs. My stomach ached from the site. It was all my fault.

"Shut the fuck up!" The unknown man's voice shouted before he punched him in the mouth. I shrieked, seeing the contact with Austin's face. Tears streamed down my face as I stared at Austin. Spitting blood, he looked at me, tears lining his eyes.

"Faith, no." That's the only thing he could get out before getting hit again. He groaned from the blow. Ian stopped me right in front of him.

"Say goodbye to your boy toy." He sneered as I dropped down to my knees in front of Austin.

"Austin, I-I'm sorry." I whispered, staring into his eyes. I wasn't going to let Ian kill him. I just couldn't. People looked up to him and loved him. I would rather die than see him die. He looked up at me. I wrapped my arm around him and cried onto his shoulder. He pressed his lips to my ear.

"I'll find you. I promise. I'm not going to let him take you away." He whispered and I pulled back to stare at him. His eyes held so many emotions and I couldn't stop myself from pressing my lips to his. I caressed his face as he kissed me back. It only lasted a few seconds before Ian ripped me away from Austin, dragging me through the house again, by my hair. I screamed and kicked, trying to get free.

"Come on. I have what I came here for." Ian's grip tightened on my hair and his henchman followed.

"You stupid mother fucker! I'll kill you!" Austin's voice was pained but angry. It was the last thing I heard before being thrown into the trunk of Ian's car.

Austin's POV

I couldn't believe she just let him take her. My anger was building and I just wanted the motherfucker dead. I wrestled against the rope, trying to pull my arms free, but failed miserably.

"Someone come fucking untie us!" The volume of my voice sounded louder than I intended it to be but the girls ran out of the gaming room and over to all of us. Katie untied me and I jumped up out of the chair to get to the computer.

"Austin, he took her, didn't he?" Zoe walked up behind me, with tears in her eyes. I nodded and started searching for Faith's iPhone. "I know you'll find her and we all will be here with you. We have your back." She patted my shoulder, consoling me.

"I found it!" Jumping up from the desk, I grabbed my car keys and looked at the guys. "Come on, I found her."

"That was fast." Alan smiled and I glared at him. His smile faded as he quickly kissed Zoe.

"Girls, you stay here. We will be back soon." They nodded as the guys and I walked out to my car. "He must have been driving a hundred miles an hour because she's in San Diego."

"Holy shit man. Are you sure we can get her?" Tino asked from the backseat. I looked in the rear view mirror at him.

"Positive." I sped out of the drive way and down the road. My heart was beating at a high pace and I knew it wasn't good for me but I didn't care. I just wanted to make sure Faith is safe. I gripped onto the steering wheel, making my knuckles turn white.

"Austin."

"What?!" I glanced over at Alan. He placed a hand on my shoulder.

"We are going to find her." His voice was reassuring. I loosened my grip and ran a hand through my hair.

"I hope it's not too late." San Diego was a two hour drive from my house. Who knows what he's doing to her right now. My heart sank from the thought. I couldn't protect her. The jackass blind sided me in the kitchen. If I was more careful, I could have protected her. Even though I just met her, she was very important to me, like she was meant to be out photographer. She was meant to walk into my life and I was meant to protect her.

"How's your face?" Phil leaned up behind me, breaking me from my thoughts. I waved him off.

"It's fine."

"You're still bleeding, bud." Alan handed me a napkin and I dabbed at my mouth. I mumbled a 'thank you' and kept driving. My mind racing with emotions, I tried hard to keep focused on the road. My phone started ringing, breaking my focus. I snatched it up without looking at the caller ID.

"Hey, look I can't talk right n-"

"Austin?" Faith's voice came through the other end.

"Faith? Where are you?" Not giving a fuck about speed limits, I pressed my foot against the gas pedal, flying down the highway.

"An abandoned warehouse on 3rd street in San Diego. He was driving over a hundred miles and the cops didn't even stop him even though I kicked his back tail light out." She took a deep shaky breath. "He's going to kill me, Austin. You'll have to find another photographer. I'm sorry." She broke down, sobbing into the phone.

"Faith, it's going to be okay. I'm coming for you."

"No! Don't! He'll kill you too." Before I could say anything, I heard yelling in the background.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing, bitch?!" I gripped the steering wheel as I listened to Ian scream at Faith. "You're talking to your pussy boy toy, aren't you?!" A small 'no' came from Faith, followed by a loud smacking sound, and a cry of pain.

"You piece of shit! You're going to be fucking dead in about twenty minutes!" I couldn't control my anger anymore. I just wanted this asshole dead. His laughed filled the air and I wanted to puke.

"I find that funny because, she will be dead in about ten minutes." He sneered into the phone, as Faith sobbed in the background.

"You make me sick, you fucking bastard." I yelled, ending the call and pulling onto the side of the road, a few blocks down from the building.

"I thought you said we were twenty mins away." Alan said confused, causing me to smack him on the back of the head.

"You're so dumb sometimes." I retorted, not in the mood to make jokes. "I'm going in the back way, up the fire escape. Aaron you stay in the car, ready to drive off. Everybody else split up." I didn't give them time to agree as I jumped out of the car, running towards the building. I had one foot on the fire escape steps, when I heard an ear piercing scream come from one of the floors.
