Chapter Thirty-Two

We just finished our signing and we met with the make-a-wish kids, which they were so

cute and funny!

I had asked Gabe to take the gifts I got and take them to Austin's car while I went to go

talk to Emily.

I walked to the restaurant Austin said he would be at and walked to the booth getting in

next to Austin.

Austin kissed my cheek and wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Emily, why aren't you here with your parents?" I asked, looking at her.

She looked down playing with her hands, "I walked here because my mom wouldn't

take me."

I looked up at Austin and back at her.

"Do your parents know that you are here?" He asked.

Emily shook her head and I noticed her rubbing her arm, something I did right after

cutting.

"Emily, you need to be honest with me. Do you cut?" I asked as I laid my arm out on the

table for her to see my scars.

"Yes." She whispered.

Austin sighed and I saw that his eyes looked really sad.

"Sweetheart do your parents abuse you?" He asked and that's when Emily broke.

I got up and moved to the other side of the booth somewhat to shield her from everyone

and to hold her.

"Shhh it's okay. Austin and I won't let anything happen to you." I said and looked at

while he nodded.

"Emily you can come home with us and we will get everything situated." Austin said.

Emily nodded and wrapped her arms around me.
