Glass Hearts

Chapter I

‘Ughh’, she moaned as she turned the corner. There should have been a door to the main hall of Alexandria Palace around this corner, but somehow she managed to get lost on the first day of her new job. All she was was an office assistant and somehow she managed to mess it up already. Absolutely freaking wonderful, she thought to herself.
She kept walking down one of the identical hallways, hoping the pale blue carpet or the boring floral wallpaper would magically send her a way of figuring out where the hell she was. Her boss, Mick, sent her to deliver some papers to another office on the other side of the building. That’s it. And she had managed to screw it up. She’d been gone at least 40 minutes and she was sure Mick would have noticed by now, even if he was as stressed as he was. Of Mice and Men were headlining tonight and her boss was still trying to sort out security.
She pulled her phone out of the back pocket of her dark denim jeans as she neared another corner. She was so focused on the phone in her hands she didn’t notice the other person turning the corner the same time she was. They stumbled into each other and she fell backwards onto the floor and her phone flew across the hallway. She was trying to brush her red hair out of her face as she heard a voice call out.
‘Oh my god, are you okay? I’m so sorry. I wasn’t even paying attention.’
She might have been blinded by her hair but she knew that voice anywhere. She attempted to look up at the 6’ 2 giant stood in front of her with a worried look on his face.
‘Yea, don’t worry about it,’ she said with a smile as she managed to brush her hair out of her face as he helped her off the floor, ‘I wasn’t paying attention either.’ She stood there for a second, start struck. As he reached down and picked up her phone, she realized just how good looking he was. His tattoos looked amazing. He handed her her phone and apologized again.
‘Wait, you work here,’ he asked, noticing the pass hanging around her neck.
‘Yeah I work here. Just a part time thing while I’m at university.’
‘Ah that’s cool. What are you studying,’ he asked with a smile.
‘Marine Biology.’
‘That’s so cool! I love the sea,’ he said excitedly, ‘I got one of my tattoo sleeves based on the sea.’ He slide up his t shirt sleeve and showed her his arm. It was covered in waves and star fish and things like that. ‘Oh and I’m Austin by the way’
‘I’m Alex,’ she said with a laugh. ‘I love your tattoos.’
He laughed that cute little laugh she had only ever seen in his interviews on You Tube. She was almost positive she was blushing like an idiot. ‘Oh god, why is he so cute,’ she thought to herself.
‘Listen, I have to go, but hopefully I’ll see you again. Maybe for coffee or something instead of me beating you up in the hallway,’ he asked with a half smile.
‘Yeah, definitely. That would be cool,’ she replied, trying not to make herself look like a complete idiot. ‘I’ll be here all night.’
‘Yeah me too, he said with another smile as he started walking down the hallway.

I liked it :) You should make a sequel. Where she goes to the states and runs into him (again).
