One look was all it took.

Feeling this

Alan's P.O.V.

The entire day at school was great, Austin was so nice to me. I was really nervous around him though, he's tall, cute, sweet, funny, & he has the cutest laugh. I swear my stomach has been filled with butterflies all day. It's my first day of school & I already have a crush on someone. Talking to him all day, I've found out a lot of stuff about him. He flunked last year, so he's a year older than I am, He really likes cats (so do I!), He really likes Disney movies, & it seems that everyone in school knows him. I'm guessing he's really popular here. He's just really easy to talk to even though I can hardly breath around him. Luckily, I haven't said anything stupid to embarrass myself. We've been talking about him all day & I was perfectly fine with that. I don't want him knowing anything about me anyway. We don't have the same lunch though, so I ended up sitting with my brother Aaron & his new friends. I was actually kind of bummed school was over, I liked being around Austin all day, seeing him smile, laugh, the way he talked.

"Hey Alan, do you wanna come over my house? I think it'll be really fun." Austin asked. I blushed a whole bunch but looked away. Austin moved my face to look at him with his hand. I swear I was blushing even more now.

"What do you say?" Austin asked, with the softest tone, looking at me directly in the eyes. I felt like kissing him right then & there, I glanced at his lips quickly then looked back up to his eyes. He looked down at my lips too, then looked away, moving his hand.

"I'd like to...yea." I replied, trying not to show how nervous I was. Austin looked back at me & smiled. There go the butterflies again.

"Great! We're gonna have fun. I got a pool, a little movie room, or we can just eat all day." Austin spoke, laughing. I laughed too & then he rested his arm on my shoulder. I stopped laughing & tensed up. I think he noticed though.

"Sorry." Austin said, removing his arm. I looked down, biting the inside of my lip.

"So, let's go?" I asked. Austin nodded & started walking down the sidewalk. I followed.

We were almost at his house, I listened to his voice the entire way there. I listened to this story about the school, an old legend.

"Yea, the school's really old. They have us all convinced that some girl named Emma died there yeeeaaars ago, now it's rumored she haunts the school." Austin said.

"Do you believe it?" I asked.

"Yea. I've always believed in ghosts. I'm just not absolutely sure how she died. There are three theories."

"What are they?"

"Well there's the first one, which I don't think is true, is that Emma was on the school stage one day alone, and some janitor was cleaning but pushed Emma off the stage, causing her to break her neck." Austin stated.

"God. That's terrible."

"Another one is that she was electrocuted on the same stage, while using the microphone. I don't believe it either."

"Well which one do you believe?" I asked, putting my hands in my pockets.

"The most likely one. They say she used to be a student aid for the in-house kids, & bought them their lunch. Well, one day she was bringing lunch to some kid, who apparently didn't like the lunch she bought him & the kid pushed Emma down the stairs out of anger. So basically, she hit her head & broke her neck. I don't know, it just seems more likely." Austin answered.

"This school sure seems interesting." I said, laughing. Austin smiled at me & then surprised me by his sudden question.

"I know this is really weird to ask but uh....do you um...have a girlfriend, by any chance?" I looked at Austin a little caught off, great, now I have to tell him I'm gay.

"...N-no...I'm actually gay..." I said, turning pink.

"Don't be shy. Guys can like guys. I think it's great." Austin replied. I blushed even more & thanked him.

"...so...no boyfriend?" Austin asked.

"N-no...."

"See anyone you like today?..." Austin's question's were getting personal for me & he seemed really hesitant about asking them. I'm not sure if I should tell him I like him. What if he doesn't want to be my friend?

"...maybe." I answered.

"Who?" Austin's head shot up & he looked at me waiting for an answer. I didn't know what to say, I froze.

"A-Are we almost at your house?...." I asked, changing the subject.

"....uh, yea. It's that blue one over there." Austin replied. He sighed & kept walking. We finally reached his house & went inside. An older man was sitting on the couch, I'm assuming was his dad.

"Hey, dad. I bought a new friend over, I hope you don't mind."

"No, not at all. What's your name, son?" Austin's dad asked.

"It's Alan...Alan Ashby." I replied, nervous.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Alan. Have fun." His dad said, walking into the kitchen.

"C'mon let's go to my room." Austin said. I followed him, his room was clean, white, big & really fresh. There were posters up on the wall of half naked girls & then I spotted one of a guy. The guy had no shirt on & he was biting his lip. Austin noticed me looking at it.

"Hot, isn't he?"

"Uh..yea....you like-"

"Guys? I don't know. I think a lot are attractive. Especially you." Austin spoke, interrupting me.

"M-me?...uh...I'm not attractive...." I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks. My muscles tensed up & I was feeling those butterflies again.

"Are you kidding?! You're hot!" He laughed. "Sorry...but, yea. I don't think I'm gay though. I just happen to find you really attractive." I blushed ten times harder than before.

"What's up with you blushing so much? It's really fucking cute, you know." Shit, he's noticed all day? Dammit. "Do you think I'm attractive too?" Austin asked. He smirked at me, sitting down on his bed & waiting for an answer. The butterflies in my stomach just grew & my heart started racing fast.

"Y-yes. You're the first one I noticed today..." I replied. I got really nervous but then worked up the courage to take a chance. "Do you want to find out if you are gay?" I asked. I was trying my hardest to stay confident. If this works, It'll be my lucky day.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not..." Austin replied.

"But do you want to really be sure?" I asked.

"Yea...how would I know though?" I thought for a second, debating on weather or not to take this chance. I have to stop being a coward.

"Can...I try something?" I asked, sitting down on his bed next to him.

"Sure...."

"Tell me whenever you want me to stop...okay?"

"O-okay...." Austin looked really nervous & confused. I leaned in close to him, he looked at me a little scared. I kept going expecting him to tell me to stop soon.

"A-Alan...what are you doing..." I ignored him & kept getting closer. I got really close now, I stopped & just let my lips hover over his. He didn't move or anything, I could feel his hot breath on my lips, I was getting really nervous...I moved one last time, pressing our lips together. At first Austin hesitated, but then he started kissing back. I couldn't believe this was happening. Then even more unexpectedly, Austin deepened the kiss just as I was going to pull away. His hands attached to my waist, making me flinch in response. I was really self-conscious when it came to people touching me. Austin pulled away & looked at me, still not moving his hands.

"Alan...what's wrong?"

"N-nothing...I guess I just didn't expect you to kiss me back..." I replied.

"I didn't either....I like it a lot though....c-can we continue?" Austin asked, he was the one blushing now. I nodded & we pressed our lips together once again. I moved my arms, wrapping them around his neck & pulling him closer. His tongue slid across my lower lip, sending shivers down my spine. I opened my mouth letting him in. I was getting less nervous as time went by but the butterflies became stronger. Austin was getting a little carried away in the moment & started sliding my shirt up. I didn't feel comfortable with this...I was getting kind of scared now.

"Austin...w-we need to stop." I said, pulling away, our foreheads now touching. This was just something for him to see if he's gay....I can't have this go any further than a kiss, I should just stop now, before I hurt myself. At least I won't have to wonder what it would have been like.

"I'm sorry....I shouldn't have done that...I guess I just got caught up in the moment..." Austin whispered.

"I-it's fine...can we do something else?..." I asked, backing away from him. The kiss was amazing.

"Yea. I'm really sorry...let's not tell anyone about this, okay...Let's watch a movie?" Austin asked. I nodded & we went off to his movie room. When we walked in, there was a cool breeze & a big projector screen, & a row of theater seats. His house is seriously amazing. We watched some comedy movie, it was called "death at a funeral", but it was really funny. Austin & I were acting as if nothing happened. As if we never kissed. It didn't bother me too much. At lest I got to kiss him. We were laughing so much we were out of breath. When the movie was over we went to his backyard, he has a really big pool. You could probably fit 80 people in here. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I'm not used to fancy, expensive things like his house. My family isn't clearly as wealthy as his.

"Ready to swim?" Austin asked me. There's that big perfect smile of his.

"Yup." I smiled back, I went into the bathroom & changed out of my clothes, into the shorts he let me borrow. Then we jumped in the pool.
