Forgive Me- Part 2

I'll Be Okay

Amelia's POV

I was sitting side stage watching as watching as Of Mice and Men rowled up the crowd. It was amazing to watch, having never been to a concert, seeing the way that the band affected the hundreds of people who had come to see them was astounding and in turn, the band fed of the crowds energy. Jaime had asked me if I wanted to join the crowd and experience the concert as most people would but I had decided that being in such close proximity to so many unknown people would be too much to handle and I was right. Even from back here where they couldn’t even see me I was shaking slightly with nerves. I honestly have no idea how the guys do it, how they can stand in front of so many people they don’t know and sing or play. It truly is amazing.

Even though I wasn’t in the crowd I still feel so connected to the music that they played. Throughout both of mice and men and bring me the horizon I could feel my heart pump in time with the bass, the lyrics flowing into my head and reverberating around my skull. This is a thousand times better than just listening to the music through regular speakers or headphones; it feels different, more powerful in a way. Bring Me The Horizon finished their set and ran off stage leaving a crowd of people screaming after them; Oli ruffled my hair as he walked past and I scowled at him which only caused him to chuckle.

Not long after they left the stage the crowd started to chant for Pierce the Veil. I couldn’t help but smile at their passion, they really cared about this music, it was so obvious and I wonder how many people, like myself, have had their lives made easier just because this music exists. I feel arms wrap around me and I look over my shoulder to see Jaime standing behind me. I smile up at him and he kissed the top of my head.

“Having fun?” he asks

“Loads, this is amazing” I reply looking back at the crowd “They’re really excited for you to play”

“Yea I can hear” he chuckled.

“When do you go on?”

“Two minutes, we’re all just getting into place now; this is the side I go on from.”

“Oh okay, Good luck”

“Thanks, I hope you like it.”

“It’s Pierce the Veil, I mean excluding their crappy bass player they’re amazing” I joke and he just shoves me gently but then suddenly looks up.

“I gotta go”

“Have fun out there”

“Of course I will” he smirks before kissing me gently and running out onto the stage. The crowd immediately went nuts, screaming and screaming, I couldn’t hear a single coherent word at all.

They played with so much energy, connecting to the crowd with ease. Vic occasionally stopped singing to let the crowd take over which they did, knowing every word to the songs they were playing. All the guys had goofy grins on their faces as they ran across the stage and Mike was going crazy on the drums. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them this happy, this energetic, this comfortable; this was their home and seeing them like this actually made it so much easier for me to be able to let them go on tour, knowing how happy doing this made them made me feel selfish for even wanting Jaime to stay with me. He needs this; he needs to tour, to interact with the fans. A smile crosses my face and I can’t help but hum along with the music but it was all over too soon and the guys ran off stage and the fans were calling for an encore. Jaime runs over to me and picks me up spinning me around in a circle. He was obviously still on an adrenaline rush.

“Jaime let me go, you’re all sweaty and gross” I say pushing him away. In response he just chuckled and rubbed his sweaty hair against my neck causing me to squeal and push against him harder, all the while struggling to hold in a fit of laughter. It was good seeing him like this. “Jaime! No, stop! Go away you’re disgusting”

“You love it”

“No way! Go have a shower or something!”

“Fine” he grumbled before taking my hand and leading me back to the dressing rooms. We went in and the rest of the guys were there having baby wipe showers. I laughed at the sight and went and sat with Tony on the couch.

“So how did you like it?” He asked from beside me

“You guys were absolutely amazing!”

“Naw shucks” Mike said from across the room.

“We’ve got to go out and meet some of the fans, you’re welcome to come but I can’t promise that it’ll be pretty” Vic said heading towards the door.

“Umm, I might wait here…” I said, worried about having to be around such a large number of people and after some of the twitter comments I had been getting I was a more than a little reluctant to meet the fans.

“Come on Mil, I know a lot of them want to meet you” Jaime grumbled pulling me from the couch

“Yea and a lot of them want me dead” I mumbled

“Yea but we’re there to protect you” he look me in the eye forcing me to hold his gaze “Please Mil? You haven’t really met any of the fans before”

After a second I sigh and give in. I know that I won’t be able to persuade him and that it would be a waste of effort to try. When he notices my change in demeanour he grins wildly and is almost bouncing in anticipation. He takes my hands and drags us out past Vic and to where they had organised to meet the fans. Once we arrive people swam forward and the security has to force them back into order. We were soon followed by the rest of the guys and security began to let people through to meet them. I stood away from the guys in a corner and had yet to be spotted by the fans whose attention was completely captured by them. Slowly the line began to shorten as the guys hugged, signed and chatted to dozens of people. The fans stayed relatively calm throughout the exchange, mainly talking about the guys being their hero’s, thanking them for helping them and some even telling them how they had saved their lives. It was touching really, the amount of people whose lives these guys had touched and even helped was amazing and I would hate to imagine how some of these people would be if their band had never been formed. Would they have just found another band to relate to or would they be completely lost without them? It’s hard to know but I do know that they HAVE helped these people.

I was no longer afraid of Jaime leaving, not at all. While I help people by giving them someone to confide in and giving advice when they need it, these guys help them by giving them someone to relate to, someone who will always be there for them just by turning on their music. If it’s to do this; if it’s to help so many people through their problems I can handle being on my own. I know I can.

Notes

So Amelia thinks she'll be alright. Do you guys think she will? Will she last the 2 1/2 months without Jaime? Let me know what you think! :D xox
