Forgive Me- Part 2

Debating

Amelia’s POV

A/N: ANY RELIGIOUS VIEWS PRESENTED IN THIS CHAPTER ARE NOT MEANT TO OFFEND, THEY ARE SOLELY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY OR TAKEN THE WRONG WAY. WITHOUT THESE THE STORY WOULDN’T FOLLOW THE STORY LINE I HAVE PLANNED AND I AM VERY SORRY TO ANY ONE WHO IS HURT OR UPSET BY THIS.

Meeting all the guys from the bands and their crew members wasn’t anywhere near as stressful as I thought it would have been sure I got wrapped into a lot of random peoples arms but I soon discovered that they could be trusted, and yes I decided this by the quality of their hugs. There was one guy though, I don’t know what it was but the second he hugged me I felt wrong; as soon as I could I escaped his embrace and mentally promised myself to stay away from him. But he was the only one, yea some hugs were better than others but for some reason, that guy just felt wrong. I felt bad though, out of all the people I was introduced to I remember the names of probably three or four. I remember Austin because he was the first I was introduced to, but besides him the only names that stuck were those of the two Matts in Bring Me the Horizon because it’s a really simple and common name to remember plus, there were two of them, then there was Alan from Of Mice & Men, again because it was a really common name, and last but not least, Oli, and that was because I was currently squished on the couch between him and one of the Matts.

I wasn’t really focused on their conversation, they did ask me questions occasionally but I was struggling to keep up with the flow of the conversation. They kept jumping from topic to topic without any real connection, that and I kept getting distracted by their accents. I’m used to American accents, even before I met Jaime I would hear them constantly on TV or something but I've never really been exposed to any British accents aside from the ones in Harry Potter and I found it fascinating. As I wasn’t focused on the conversation I was confused as to how the topic was raised however when I zoned back into what they were saying, I heard Oli make comment on how religion just doesn’t make sense.

“It’s not that complicated really…” I add into their conversation. Oli looks at me astounded.

“How can you say that? Isn’t God supposed to be all forgiving? Why’s there a hell then?” he asks

“Well, Catholics believe that you have to want forgiveness before you receive it. If you don’t ask for forgiveness then you won’t get it” I reply simply.

“What about the devil then? Why does God hate him if he’s punishing the bad people for him?” without realising it we entirely excluded Matt from the conversation and just focus on our debate.

“Lucifer was cast out of heaven because he rose up against God because he hated how God loved humans because he didn’t think we deserved that love. So he doesn’t PUNISH humans, he just takes his anger and hatred out on them because we basically got him thrown out of heaven.”

“But going by the rules in the bible EVERYONE should be in hell.”

“Yea but you have to remember that the bible wasn’t written by Gods own hands and over the years and through all the translations the message isn’t the exact same, that’s why there are so many different types of bibles.”

“Well the Christians obviously haven’t realised that” he mumbled and I was offended.

“Why do you say that?”

“All the hate against gays and same sex marriage, Christians constantly telling people that they’re going to hell, there’s even that group that went to that soldier’s funeral to protest and yell that he was going to hell.”

“Not all Christians are like that you know”

“I’ve never met one who proved otherwise” I’m sitting in front of you right now you idiot… Does he seriously not even realise that I’m Catholic?

“A lot of them believe in love and that all people are equal and that God loves everyone, homosexuals included”

“What about suicide then? Why is it that anyone who commits suicide is sent to hell? They would have to already be in so much pain to even consider it, so why put them through an eternity in hell on top of that?” I can’t answer straight away. This is a topic that hits close to home.

“Because it’s classified as murder, the murder of one’s self…” I eventually say with my voice lowered as I spoke, trying to hold in all the emotions that I held about this topic.

“Who would want to be a part of something that thought that?” he asks incredulously

“You know that it may have actually saved someone’s life?”

“How could it possibly save a life?”

“Why would you kill yourself if you were going to be stuck in hell for eternity?”

“That’s the worst reason to stay alive I’ve ever heard, you shouldn’t have to be scared into living; you should want to live”

“But for some people that’s all they have, some people don’t want to live but will because they don’t want to go to hell.”

“That’s horrible; they should find something that makes them happy”

“Yea, I totally agree, but sometimes that’s not enough, sometimes they don’t find anything and if they didn’t have that fear they would have killed themselves, taking away any further opportunity they have to ever find anything like that” Oli was shocked by my words and didn’t have the chance to respond because Jaime joined us. I smile at him and kiss his cheek; he was the happiness that I found, proof that it is possible for me to feel something other than sadness and pain.

“We’ve got to head off soon” he said to us and Oli nodded.

“I’m going to head upstairs then and grab my bag and anything I might need” I said, I turn to Oli and smile “It was nice to meet you”

“Likewise, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone as good at debating as you” he said with a grin.

“Thanks” I chuckle “We should definitely do it again”

“Agreed.” I say before I give Jaime a quick hug and I head upstairs to get ready.

Once in the room I grab my hand bag and put in my phone, a charger in case there’s a power point I can steal, my perfume, purse and my customary notebook and pen in case of an emergency. Once I’ve made sure that I had everything I head back to the elevator to meet they guys. When I get back down to the lounge area where all the guys were previously I found that they had all left; all except a very anxious looking Oliver Sykes.

“What’s up? Where is everyone?” I asked, getting anxious by the atmosphere in the room. What happened? Why does he look so upset? Where is everyone?

“Milly, I am so sorry” he whispers before looking up at me sadly. What happened?

Notes
